How to Find Purpose Through Content

hey I'm Alex and this is the story of how I turned tweeting for a couple minutes a day after work into a full-time business so my entire life I really didn't know my purpose I had a 2. 6 GPA in high school 2. 4 GPA in college was flunking out pretty much the entire time and worked in Tech my entire life really never loved any job I had uh when I was 30 I had this job in leadership at a tech company and I just started an anonymous Twitter account I was so bored lacked so much purpose that I just started a Twitter account started tweeting about crypto I found it interesting at the time I was investing in Bitcoin so I thought [ __ ] it I'll find some friends on the internet and start tweeting about crypto about 6 months in I was just tweeting every day creating content for fun and then boom I had 10,000 followers and about 6 months on Twitter I I was pretty blown away so I decided okay let's let's experimentally started tweeting about the algorithm for Twitter I started tweeting about programming CU I was programed my entire life and before I know it I was a year in I had a 100,000 followers I was getting engagement from Elon Musk uh it was pretty amazing really my turning point was when Elon open sourced the Twitter algorithm and I just started creating content on it I was just creating content about things I was interested in and then all of a sudden I had an entire business on my hands uh I started a newsletter it went up to 30,000 subscribers uh I started private Community started creating content and courses two years into the whole thing I decided to take the leap I left the job I've been working so hard to get promoted and work my way up in I quit for Twitter I quit for my newsletter and I started doing what I love full-time I started creating content full-time was able to program full-time build software and that's what I'm doing now coding and writing all day what I discovered through this whole process is an audience is the most powerful thing you can have in 2024 period it really is with an audience you can do anything and that all comes from just a little bit of work every day I spent 5 minutes a day after work writing tweets for a couple years and boom before I knew it 200,000 followers in a full-time business with an audience you really can do anything you can build products and sell them you can create a community you can get your message out there you can create real change there's no reason 2024 why you shouldn't be building an audience it doesn't matter if you have a job or other things you're doing anyone can do it in just a couple minutes I mean I think Twitter is the easiest for me it takes like a minute to write a tweet and put it out and thousands of people see it but you can do it anyway you want if you want to do it on YouTube Instagram it doesn't matter uh what really matters is that you're going out and building an audience because there's going to come a day where you you're going to want to launch something get a message out in audience is going to be by far the best way to do that here's going to be the tough part though it's going to be really uncomfortable I mean I'm really uncomfortable making this video as you probably can tell but that discomfort is what pushes you to your next level right the first time I put out a tweet a couple years ago and five people saw it was one of the most unbelievably uncomfortable things I ever did and all I really did was say hey Bitcoin is awesome that's literally it this was my first tweet here what you really need to do is fight through that discomfort because past that discomfort is going to be purpose and I truly believe the way humans are programmed is the only way to find happiness is through purpose that's it anytime time I've been upset in my life or felt down or depressed the moment I found something to do found something to fight for found something to build found some sort of purpose is how I got out of that rut and for me a couple years ago I wasn't really happy at my job wasn't really happy with what I was doing and starting to build an audience and then build my newsletter and then build products and software and code more is how I got out of that and how I started really embracing life and enjoying it more and so at the end of the day purpose is the point of doing all this uh and for me this was my favorite way of finding purpose I think for a lot of people in the world in 2024 uh I think they're lacking a sense of purpose I think that's why it seems like people are more upset than they've ever been and the good news is the internet wallet I think it's taken away a lot of purpose from people and they've become mindless drones on it has also given you the ability to do things like create content and like build audiences and so what it takes away it also gives so again if you haven't started building an audience or creating something of your own on the internet you got to start doing it keep a tune to and if you're looking for somewhere to get started three steps for you that are really simple number one brain dump everything you're interested anything you're into if you're if you like playing fortnite write down fortnite if you're into politics write down politics just write down everything you're into right because if you're in fortnite you can start creating fortnite videos beginner tips for that if you're into politics you can start to build election guides if you're into reading books you can create top 10 lists of your favorite books it really isn't complicated you don't need to be an expert you're just writing for people a couple steps behind you so number one brain dump everything you're interested in spend like 15 minutes doing this number two create an account somewhere could be YouTube I like Twitter SLX whatever you want to call it's really easy to write a few words out then hit enter if you're a nervous Nelly like me that is the easiest way to get past your nerves because no one sees your face YouTube's a little bit more challenging so create an account and then number three just hit post every day hit post on Something challenge yourself that's what I'm doing for myself every week I'm trying to hit post on YouTube every day I hit post on Twitter make sure you do it every day hit post put something out there you'll start to move past that discomfort and you'll start building something special and for me I never expected anything out of it two years later here I am I have a couple hundred thousand on Twitter and now I'm building my YouTube so those are three steps should make it really easy get to it start building something start finding some purpose see
