If you feel like the iPhone keyboard got worse and you're annoyed with typos that you make on it. Well, Apple's latest software update may finally fix your frustrations and if it doesn't fix the keyboard for you, I mean, you can still tell everyone you're annoyed with this guy. Or you could throw on some eyeliner and mosh out your feelings by getting a ticket to a nearby concert that you found on Apple Music, because now you can do all that on iOS 26. 4. Okay, normally software updates on a phone are pretty boring, but this has some fun features that you're going to want to try. Yes, there are new emoji. That is why everyone wants to download it, but there are other gems in this update beyond the emoji. This is one more thing. The show for all things Apple. And since there's one more thing for us to download, let's go over the biggest changes coming in iOS 26. 4 There are 8 new emoji in this release. We got Free Willy over here with an orca. There's a trombone that you can send when you want a little womp sad trombone moment. The rock here is supposed to be a landslide. There's a treasure chest. That one's a gem. There's a ballet dancer, a Bigfoot. I'm afraid of how I'm going to see that one used. And two of the best ones of the bunch. There's this cartoon fight cloud and a face with eyes bugging out. It's a distorted face. It's called. Now, I'm glad that the little fella from Apple's iPad, crushed, is still able to be with us in some form, even if everyone hated his commercial. Now he's an emoji. That's great. but remember your friends are not going to see the new emoji you send them unless they also update their software. I mean, you could also do what I do. Sometimes I like to mess with my friends by making really weird emoji in gen emoji, and then I just tell them it's the new emoji and they just have to find it, you know, go to RBF right before the flags. Apple isn't too specific on how the keyboard has been improved, but in this release, Apple is noting that there was an enhancement to the keyboard that improved accuracy when typing quickly. I felt I've been having way more typos lately, so I do hope this helps. Now there is a long list of small tweaks, but here are what I think are some of the best updates worth highlighting, starting with Apple Music. First off, you're going to notice when you open it, it's going to recommend concerts near your location, and you can just scroll through and, maybe discover a new band. There's also a tab for popular music. You can click on a tour date, and you're going to see that some artists, even include a playlist of the music that they play on their tour. It's not for every artist, but I do love this because I never have time to hunt for music near me and I'm always sad. I miss events, but now you can book tickets right through Apple Music. It just takes you off to the various ticket sites. Apple music also has a new mode for making a playlist using Apple Intelligence. This is called Playlist Playground. You describe what kind of music you're in the mood for, and it just makes something based on your interests. I needed some motivational music for cleaning the house and this is what it gave me. And you know what? I love it. I mean, I wouldn't have picked timber for cleaning the house, but it's actually a good song for scrubbing bathrooms. You know, it's going down, right? Let me try it. See if it works for you. If you use the Shazam shortcut and the control center to identify a song, you can now still do that without an internet connection. It's going to give you the results when you're back online. If you need to just jump into some mood music, there's an ambient music widget to bring sleep, chill, productivity or well-being sounds to your home screen. Let's switch over to the Apple Podcasts app. It now supports a way for you to watch the video version of your show right inside the app, This is a feature that's also in Spotify. Now when it comes to Apple Podcasts, this is an early change. Not every shows video version might be in there right away, but when it is working, you're going to see this little video on toggle button that you'll click. It's right above the play and Pause button. that way. You might just watch your favorite show inside the podcast app instead of going somewhere like YouTube. And speaking of which, should I just put this show on there? I mean, it's an Apple show. It should be on the Apple Podcasts app. Now that they do video, let me know if you think it's a good idea. Here's another helpful change for family accounts. If you use family sharing before everyone had to use a single payment method, anytime they want to make a purchase or buy some streaming content. And things are always billed to the main family organizer. But now different family members can all use different payment methods to make purchases. And let's talk about liquid glass animations. If they are causing you some annoyance. Still, look into the new accessibility changes. There are improvements to the reduce motion setting to help reduce animations and reduce bright effects. Also is tuned to help minimize bright flashes

when you're tapping on some elements like buttons. There's also subtitle and caption settings now available from the captions icon when you're viewing media. So what's next after this? Maybe you'll start to hear about people testing out a better version of Siri in the coming developer betas. That'll be exciting. But until then, let me know what features you are interested in for this update and what you want to see. Apple add on the next update on April 1st, Apple celebrates its 50th anniversary. So happy birthday Apple! I'll catch you next week for one more thing.
