Hello, Cloud Gurus. Welcome back to another AWS This Week where we find out what goodies AWS have announced in the last seven days. I am your friendly neighborhood Jess Alvarez, and today we'll review cool updates to Systems Manager. Then we'll talk about what's new with SimSpace Weaver and Fraud Detector. Stay tuned to hear the full story in this episode of AWS This Week. AWS has been busy improving the ever helpful Systems Manager service, specifically the Change Calendar and Change Manager. So first things first, Systems Manager Change Manager helps customers request, approve, implement, and report operational changes to application configuration and infrastructure. Not just in AWS but on-premises as well. With the new update, customers can now set a required number of approvers for a change request before adding all the eligible approvers. Well, what does that mean, Jess? Well, this adds flexibility to add multiple approvers for the request, which ensures that the change can be approved faster and thus applied faster. Systems Manager Change Calendar was also updated to provide a more comprehensive view of operational events. Change Calendar is used to schedule calendar events, controlling changes made to your AWS resources during events like super sales and special promotions. The update now automatically displays these events alongside your business critical events to help you stay aware of what's going on as to not schedule changes when it'll be a problem. AWS launched SimSpace Weaver just a short while ago at re: Invent 2022 and have already started to deliver updates to the service. So tip of the cap to them. SimSpace Weaver is a managed spatial simulation deployment service. It allows you to configure a job quickly, autoscales your simulation across instances, and integrates with 3D engines like Unreal Engine and Unity. Well now it can also be set up, run, and cleaned up using CloudFormation templates. This means provisioning new simulations or launching a series of simulations with different settings and schemas and is now just a template away. This new functionality is only available in specific regions at the moment. So that is North Virginia, Ohio, Oregon, Singapore, Sydney, Frankfurt, Ireland, and Stockholm. Amazon Fraud Detector is a managed service that identifies potentially fraudulent online activities like payment fraud and fake account usage. Up until now, customers had to provide 10,000 or more labeled events with at least 400 examples of fraud to train a model. Well now with the new release of Cold Start, only 50 labeled fraud events and 50 unlabeled events are needed. This will allow customers with limited model training data, a chance to get started on fraud tagging and then move on to continuously retrain their model as they receive more data. This new functionality is available everywhere Fraud Detector is available, so have fun. Well then I hope you enjoyed this episode of AWS This Week. I'll include links in the resources to cover all the fancy new things we covered today. And don't forget to like and subscribe, and check out our awesome Discord community. Thank you so much for watching. Keep being awesome Cloud Gurus and I'll see you next time.
