All You Need to Know about AI in Smartphones! [2024]

this is the first phone to use so much AI on this Samsung Galaxy s24 Ultra AI is everywhere I think this might be a breakthrough and transform our lives for the better or will it be a bunch of useless gimmicks that are just for the show so let's test it all out I not going to go into details about the phone itself and we'll jump straight to the first feature that will be extremely familiar to you if you have watched our videos because in almost every video we feature some sort of an image generation AI so Samsung has come up with AI generative wallpapers and despite being hidden deep within the wallpaper settings it is pretty cool but it works not like you would expect the Samsung gives you a couple of pre-made wallpaper styles to choose from kind of like the direction you want to go and then when you click on any of these wallpapers you see a pre-made prompt where you can change certain words to create new wallpapers on one hand I do like this approach because it allows developers to better optimize the image generation algorithms for specific proms but on the other hand it just doesn't seem all that creative AI image generation has basically Limitless potential so why limit users to specific and pretty short prompts I can always go to Dolly and generate an image there using a much longer and more detailed prom because even in the most customizable part of this wallpaper generation menu Samsung doesn't give that much flexibility it's all the same picking of certain keywords that will form the image nothing else I hope next year more flexibility will be added because right now despite being

pretty cool I still feel like it's a bit limited but if you're a fan of minimalistic and abstract wallpapers like me you can have a lot of fun with this feature and create a ton of nice wallpapers the next feature uses AI in exactly the way it should be used it is called Circle search and it basically allows you to search for anything on the screen as it always is with Android you need to enable this feature in settings but when it is enabled I just circle around an object I want to search for with my finger or a special stylus the Spen and the AI analyzes every detail finding exactly what I'm looking for what amazes me is how accurate everything is no matter what I'm searching for the results are perfect almost every time but it's not just searching for images I can use this feature to also search for specific words their definitions and learn new stuff this way just think about watching the movie seeing a cool piece of clothing scanning it and then buying it for yourself This sounds too good to be true but that is still not everything this feature can do because it also works in the camera if I see something that I want to scan I don't need to take a photo and upload it somewhere I just open the camera activate the feature and then circle around the object it's that easy and when I'm done searching I can

Spanish to reserve a table at a Spanish restaurant but this is not just your simple translation because the phone analyzes every word the other person says translates it in a text form then does the same to everything you say translates that and creates a voice over so that the person you're talking to hears real words the beauty of it is that the other person does not have to have the s24 ultra translation and voice generation is happening on the phone at your end which is simply amazing just think about how useful this feature will be during your travels instead of trying to awkwardly explain what you want or translate stuff during the call and repeat it over and over again hoping that the person in the call will understand you can just talk normally and AI will do everything for you another cool feature will also be familiar to you because we featured similar ones before it is called browsing assist and it can summarize and translate web pages let's say you have a website open with a bunch of text that I don't really want to read and now instead of copying the link and pasting to Chad gbt I can just hit one button and choose summarize the AI will read everything on the page and give me a short summary saving me a ton of time if you have ever used Bard from Google you

have used this feature because Samsung is basically using Google's API and it works great not going to lie summarizing stuff has always been a strong side of AI and language models in general so this one is no exception again this is only a brief summary and if you want more information you'd have to switch the summary style to detail then AI will regenerate the summary and add more useful information if you want you can translate the summary or the entire web page by clicking one button I don't really think that this translation is any different from the built-in translation that we saw on phones before but maybe AI here improves the accuracy and fluency of the results what do you think oh and the same summarization is available in PDF documents so if you get a long document to sign you can just summarize it and get the general understanding of what the agreement is about it can be useful especially when a lot of corporate language is used because it can be challenging to read and understand sometimes if you think that was impressive you haven't even seen the notes yet I for example am not a huge note taken guy and I rarely structure my notes so they usually look pretty sloppy but now I can take any note that I have for example the one with a ton of text completely

unstructured and revamp it to be coherent and easily comprehensible to do it I need to hit the same good old button with three stars if you see this button any app it turns on AI in our Notes app it gives four options to choose from Auto format summarize correct spelling and translate if I click Auto format the AI will find the most convenient and appropriate formatting for my notes and arrange the information in an easily digestible way it works really well especially if you like to list things without properly marking everything of course sometimes this formatting might need your assistance but for something that takes a few clicks and a couple seconds to do I think Samsung is doing a pretty good job at turning my messy notes into something that I can feel not ashamed of summarizing the notes works exactly like you expected to work the AI simplifies and shortens the notes leaving only the important stuff it can be incredibly useful for people who talk a lot and just dictate their notes without further revisions so if you like to turn on dictation and just talk and talk this summarization for noes is the feature you would definitely use a lot and then there is also a spelling correction option which again does exactly that reads your notes and

correct spelling in them it can be useful if you don't have automatic spelling correction turned on however if you like to use madeup words or jargon the feature may devoid your noes from their unique style so you better use it with caution as far as the translation goes it's just a translation nothing to it and there is an even crazier feature that turns regular videos into slow motion with just one click let's say I have a video shot at 60 frames per second if I was to slow it down to 30 frames per second I'd get a normal video that moves at half the speed I can do that without AI in any video editing app what if I have a video that I shot at 30 FPS or even 24 slowing it down by two will make it super choppy if I do it the usual way but with Samsung I can just open the video on the phone and hold a finger on it the phone will use AI to generate additional frames and slow down the video right as I'm watching it I don't need to wait for the video to process the phone isn't sending any videos to the cloud everything is happening on the device and the best part is that I can go into the editing menu for the video and choose how much I want the video to be slowed down or sped

up the slow as it goes is 1/4 of the speed so basically I can take a regular 30fps video and turn it into 12 with almost no quality losses 60 FPS videos will become to 40 again this can be done to any video even ones that weren't shot on this phone of course sometimes the results can feel a bit artificial and fake but only if you open the video on the big screen like your TV if you watch the videos on your phone and just want to experience old memories in a new way then the quality will be just fine this is seriously the most impressive and reliable AI slow-mo that I've ever tested and AI is now part of the phone's keyboard no matter where you are and what you're typing you can basically call in your personal writing assistant to do it for example in the chat I just click a little button with three stars and the phone gives me three options to choose from translation writing style spelling and grammar translation obviously translates my words into different language which in my case can be super useful when talking to my foreign friends to writing style rewrite sentences in a bunch of different ways such as professional casual social and so on professional style seems more tight and serious casual is more

friendly and relaxing and social style as hashtags and emojis personally I think the professional style is the best one because if you have a certain style of talking to your friends most likely you just write the messages in that Style by default and don't need any adjustments but for younger people who are not yet fully committed to corporate life having this feature while messaging can be incredibly useful this way I can just type in an informal request and make it formal and professional with just one click and spelling and grammar checking Works in an absolutely predictable way checks all written text for mistakes and fixes them again what I like the most about this feature is that it works by default in any app that needs keyboard input and you don't need to enable anything on the website or in the app or anywhere else it just works Samsung just keeps on giving because for all those people who like to use voice memos Samsung has come up with transcript assist which basically transcribes all voice memos it might seem strange to you that I'm excited about such a small feature but throughout all of the years that voice MOS and AI have existed not so many phone manufacturers have combined these to things but it's not only transcribing the voice memo it can also discern voices so if a couple people are talking in one voice memo the AI will correctly identify voices and separate the transcribed text this way if you're a student for example you can get high quality subcriptions of your lectures and if I don't want to read everything that I've said in my voice memo I can go to the summary Tab and get a short version of it and of course I can translate everything into different language it's all about these little things you know small features that you don't really think about until you try them but probably the biggest feature in this new Samsung phone is AI photo editing remember how we used different AI tools to edit our images how we needed one AI to erase all objects another one to move stuff around and then another one to fill in the blank spots well here it all works in one buildin app right on the phone no need to create additional accounts pay subscriptions and so on and using it is really easy first I need to go to the editing mode by clicking on the pencil icon then in the bottom left corner there is the AI button so I'm going to click on that for a split second the AI will analyze the image understand what's happening on it and probably even calculate the possible manul ations we could do for example I can rotate the image slightly and the AI will automatically fill in the blank spots which can be super useful if you're trying to fix poorly framed shots from your vacation trust me I've been there many times now let's say I want to move an object round I just hold my finger on it and move it wherever I want I can also resize it raise it and rotate as I please an AI will add information where the object once was making it really hard to pinpoint the place where the edits happened of course AI will not make any adjustments to perfectly blend in the object you move so if your edits are substantial a normal person will be able to pick up that something is wrong with a photo but for simple stuff like deleting people from the photo or moving objects closer together this feature works wonders and again no need for additional apps registration uh subscription fees and so on it's super fast super easy and really reliable what I really like about all these AI features is how polished they are of course AI sometimes can produce weird results whether it is a weirdly filled in image or strangely written texts or even incorrect translation but I think we should look further and consider how well it will work in a couple years because this phone shows where the market is going and how AI will become a part of our everyday life using C gbt and other AI tools for your work is one thing but having them always available at your fingertips every everywhere you look is something completely different basically there is no more distance between a user and AI everything is intertwined together and I do like that the only thing that I think we should remember is to not get too carried away despite all the benefits the AI brings to the user experience we still should remember how to do things by ourselves and about the difference between AI generated stuff and the real one but hey let's normalize AI in phones it's really worth it thanks for watching and see you the next one
