Google Bard AI - The ONLY Reason You Should Use (fall update)

do you remember Bard yes the infamous Chad GPT competitor from Google recently it got updated with one killer feature I tested it and I think it has the potential to Dethrone Chad gbt so let's take a look the latest update from Google added something called B extensions these extensions essentially integrate Google tools like Gmail docs uh drive into board on top of that it also integrates Google flights Maps hotels and even YouTube basically it turns bar into an all powerful and allmighty assistant to put it to the test I want

to start with planning flights I will ask you to find me the fastest way to fly from Houston to Paris and as you see the animation shows that Bart is using Google flights to perform my request and after a few seconds of waiting I get a list of flights with prices and above all there is the note about the best flight written in a way that's easy to comprehend however when it comes to flights that is pretty much all it can do when I ask it to book me the flight itself it's unable to do it this is understandable since you don't want to give your personal information and any documents to the AI well I think we should try something more complex like planning a trip from Rome to London for one week with flights accommodations and attractions look at the animation now the AI is using Google flights and Google hotels and boom here are the results a list of suggested flights and a list of hotels below that is a list of popular tourist attractions that is not exactly what I was hoping to get so let's scroll down there I can find a table with different flights and prices for them I can click on anyone that will open the dedicated flight section of the Google Website allowing me to go directly to the airlines website in the same chat there is a list of hotels from before with pictures and prices which is quite nice makes it really easy to pick a but something to me just doesn't feel right so I will ask it to give me a more detailed itinerary of things to do and see in Rome and when you look at that this is a good plan I must say Coliseum Roman Forum Vatican all divided into days and with pictures I really like how Google's AI presents results in such a way that it's really easy to grasp even for someone who is not a frequent user of AI I feel like if I would have given this assistant to my grandma she would have no problems planning the same trip as I just did but I digress let's ask BART to pick us the best hotel of all it suggested logically it would involve reading reviews and assessing the qualities of each particular hotel and it doesn't disappoint here is a part about the best hotel overall and after that is a small passage for people on a tighter budget for each Hotel it finds the signature characteristics and uses them to pick the best one so good job next thing I want to try is Google maps and plan in a road so I will ask you to plan a navigation from New York to San Francisco by car so that I could see local attractions this is a complicated request that will require not only finding the best route but also adjusting it to have interestes in tractions along the way can it do it I can see that it uses Google Maps but no it cannot it can plan a simple route and even gives a direct link to Google Maps however it can only suggest directions and not put them into the navigation which is really sad I was hoping for it to get this one maybe it can adjust the route to have more straight roads from what I see 50/50 somehow I decided to divide the 43h hour journey into 5 days and when I asked it to show it on the map The Lang just shows the most basic road that it showed before so I would say that integration with Google Maps isn't really working all that great I'm sure it will get fixed in the future and more features will get added but right now I don't think anyone should use bar to plan routes yes it is really easy to interact with but what is the point if the navigation itself is incorrect or incomplete I feel like this idea of being convenient but imperfect will be the silver lining of this video now

you can just search for those videos on YouTube itself and get far more results another selling point of this update was docs drive and Gmail integration I think initially this update was supposed to be more oriented at businesses rather than regular people so kbart really helped mine is already connected to my Google account so I can just ask whether I have ever gotten emails about cucumbers this is an odd request but it will force bar to read thousands of my emails and find something about cucumbers and as expected it couldn't find any such email because I never had those I can also ask whether I have ever gotten emails about certain jobs and yes I did once it gives a list of emails and subjects for them and of course I can ask about H1 in detail like here's the email from Goodwill Industry so I can ask did Goodwill ever respond to which Bard says that it did and invited me to an interview I would say that integration with Gmail is slightly better than what I expected but not enough to really use it because instead of just searching for the email I need to write prompt sometimes it is simpler to just do everything manually however if you have many documents in Google Docs sifting through all of them may be timec consuming I for example can ask it to summarize my last documents about the iPhone 15 Pro after a second of thinking it has read five documents and taken bits from H1 creating a summary this sum summary looks quite good more than enough if you're just trying to get a brief sense of your past documents I can also ask you to rewrite the summary to be more unique which it does splendidly integration with documents check how about Google Drive do I have any cat videos on my drive qu into Bo I do but if I look closer the results it just searched for Cad and gave me the results instead of pictures of a cat I get documents that mention cats which is not what I need okay let's be more specific and ask whether I have any PDF books on my drive this should be simpler and yes it can do that apparently I have the Lord of the Rings book somewhere in my drive I completely forgot about that interesting twist right and as you may guess Bard can easily summarize any book that I have the first book on the list is about Ai and I have featured it in videos many times already the generated summary looks good and I feel like it will be more than enough to see what the book is about after testing I feel like I'm at the crossroads on one hand board extensions are really useful and convenient but on the other hand they feel somewhat unnecessary new functionality is always appreciated and welcomed when it comes to AI but in this case I feel like it would have been better if Google took some more time to refine and add more capabilities updated Bard can do more than before but to me it doesn't look enough to fully switch to it from Chad gbt finding hotels and flights is a cool thing not going to lie but if there was an ability to book something that would have been much better integration with YouTube could have been better because right now it works just like a regular search and Integrations with documents and stuff feels have baked it doesn't do any in-depth analysis of files and documents and usually decides to just search for a keyword and I feel like that's false advertising B is a really cool AI system and one day it may beat CAD gbt but right now these small features are not enough so thank you for watching guys see you in the next one
