missing usually do this on wednesday at 1 pm pst but i decided to take a very brief vacation observe it it's all thanks eric yeah uh speaking of eric hello my name is this is eric i'm jake roper uh for those that don't know i am the creator uh producer host co-writer director of um could you survive movies this is eric langley is a person yeah that's it he's just a human being we think but who are you eric oh uh i am the dp visual effects supervisor co-director and visual effects artist for could just run season one and two and the pilot who's that bad mix uh so today we're gonna do if you're new here for this we're going to watch the harry potter episode talk through the entire thing maybe give you some insight maybe some nuggets of what went into making the episode and if you haven't seen it there's a link down the top of the description so you can go check it out and you can watch it without us speaking through it but if you want to enjoy us talking through it you can and then watch it later also additional note because today is thursday the latest episode could you survive a zombie movie also just came out today so that is up on the channel free to watch and there's also a corresponding behind the scenes it's a good one that is a good one yeah and wednesday of next week i'm gonna just throw a lot of things at you right now wednesday of next week we will be doing a live stream going through the zombie episode and actually next week is the last episode of season two it is then it's all over and you won't see us titanic again for another year until we make season three but what's up everybody uh sebastian i hope for a season three four five and six so do we let youtube know that you want more of it smash that like button lavi was electric boom on set no he wasn't obviously there was a little pandemic happening during the filming of this so for a lot of the creators and actually we'll talk about it in this episode specifically with matpat we had to film remotely with him so lecture boom we wanted him in the episode but obviously it wasn't safe to travel so he was nice enough just to remotely make the wand for us and then send it over to us how was it to film a video about viruses i missed a pandemic uh yes live the future or live the sorry uh yeah that was interesting i mean that's the thing though like with zombie movies it just fit so well like i've wanted to do zombie movie we've talked about dudes i believe ever since season one uh but with this one it seemed like there was more of a reason to talk about it um nice news clips to pull from yeah a lot of news clips which made our lives a lot easier making that super tease in the beginning for sure you're fresh out of tonsil surgery tag all well welcome enjoy the ice cream yeah this is going to be like a nice cool glass of uh morphine with our soothing voices yeah discord joshua vsauce3 is the only one with the discord because vsauce3 is hip it's with it it's with the kids we like to get um lit oh my goodness right i think i have urban dictionary yeah i know these terms absolutely pulled up on the screen right now what is your favorite harry potter my favorite harry potter i've talked about which book or character i'm gonna go i don't think i think what's your favorite harry potter is probably talking about book and or movie book my favorite book would probably be goblet of fire yeah my favorite movie would be prisoner of azkaban agreed oh look at that yeah no we agree which house are you in well i know a house i would probably get put in i know what house i would want to be in well i think that's how the sorting hat chooses i would like to be in ravenclaw you're ready to go i would like to be but realistically i'd probably be a hufflepuff which is not that's not bad i put you in slytherin oh really i don't think i'm that nefarious they're rich they strive for power was that one of their qualities eugenics i think was really strive for and i'm not a big fan of eugenics what's uh what is your favorite harry potter book and movie though leave a comment below smash that like button don't forget to hit the bell for whatever that does um let's see oh love the video say hello world thank you so much but let's get into speaking of videos let's get into harry potter yeah i can guarantee you we're going to stop it within the first 30 seconds i think less than 30 seconds oh no because the yeah there's the thing too will eric make a cameo one of the episodes he actually has yeah was in top gun you're in an episode yeah you're in top gun yeah when we break the fourth wall and joe kaczynski the director of top gun comes in eric's standing right next to him so eric's in that you're in a lot of the behind the scenes yeah he's also you can see him a lot in a lot of the science demo parts yeah i don't talk a lot in the behind the scenes because i'm usually focused on working and running around and yeah making a show yeah um let's see okay let's get into it gang

yeah and we'll answer more questions as we progress but let's uh start watching could you survive harry potter with director's commentary and transition i think the spell that had the same transition it also just sounds like do you want to talk about that a lot of voices okay so bad now do you want to talk about it yeah see 16 seconds let's do it six i think we this is a record this could be this can be a short talk okay so we transition or no okay so those smoke effects are one of two shots in the series done in houdini um and it's a smoke simulation it was kind of fun for me to do because i've never done smoke simulations in houdini before um and i went a little overboard and put the resolution extremely high so that's like a 500 gig file smoke simulation and i think it looks really cool i actually wanted to do a separate render like without our background and make it look really cool because it's an amazing it looks so cool um by itself as well so one day no the particle effects like this to me looks like a really convincing composite where it's not digital at all it looks almost like you poured ink into water and just recorded that you know channeled it and put it already i could show you the actual like uh simulation of it like by itself it's just it looks so cool matthew melvin love you too sorry eric you were saying um black is a hard smoke to make look good too my god yeah uh i went a little overboard you want to talk about voldemort's space here uh we're sorry not baltimore we can't legally save baltimore uh he must not be named for legal reasons um yeah so they we had a mesh over his face so we couldn't because we didn't want to reveal who it was um and you could still kind of see it so we just ended up um basically blacking out his entire face through the whole intro yep because we don't reveal who it is which we'll reveal later juan what's the meaning behind vsauce nothing random name generator and let's get in to the episode again cool yeah but so first let's just let's transition real quick transition a few things one you know we couldn't actually use the spells from harry potter so we had to come up with our own that sounded close enough where you understood what we were referring to yeah but that's why we don't actually use the spell names this shot was really fun so this was just me holding the camera on a little gimbal a7s3 yeah just an a7s3 and then this guy actually right here just holding this camera up on a little gimbal and then just falling backwards onto a crash pad that was covered with leaves yeah i mean it's pretty convincing yeah i think it looks pretty good yeah and we even like the lights were timed up nicely so it all worked out kind of well also this whole intro we shot into like i think it was around noon it was super sunny and it was supposed to be like duskis and booty so that was all color correction well someone actually brought up that they love the color grade on this episode all right yeah and our color artist jared did a really fantastic job this episode um all right now let's go back into the episode a transition could you spread the transitions now so i decided to put my favorite cinematic photographer as ever harry potter to actually you know walk with me to you to get you up to speed this dark lord is killing anyone obviously who defies him man this is just me walking on a treadmill can i survive the inevitable good versus evil showdown using energy to create an invisibility cloak via radiant energy overcoming the force of gravity and flying with magnetic energy and creating a magic wand through electrical energy could you survive harry potter hello that's good so close but not enough to get sued this one was funny so i'm still a little disappointed in this scene i'm going to say what cause we have so

many more shots yeah this it just was uh we had a lot of shots it all looked beautiful it took two it just was very long yeah but this was funny casey we tried it was like casey you're strong you can lift me turns out he couldn't so you faked that he didn't lift me up until this point then he's actually carrying it yeah he carried you like it was nothing yeah he's very strong lavi who made the soundtrack are a composer john casey all the songs but he made it really good it sounds convincing yeah what's happening and this was also filmed during the day yeah it looks pretty good looks like a nice cloudy day and i brought you back to life and i wanted to bring you to the safest place i could think of so uh here we are at my house oh yeah well let's wait until the end technically it's a time share but you know now that you're all right so let's talk about this is actually eric this episode and this we had this kind of experience we talked about jurassic park where we had to rewrite the script a bunch because locations have changed this was very tricky we originally found this really cool like private school um i actually never saw these photos yeah it looked awesome it really did look like something straight at harry potter if she was they're like yeah uh it's coveted we don't really want a bunch of people in our school during a pandemic so we ended up being able to do that and then there was something i had to rewrite the script because we're not going to be there and then there was the potential opportunity to film at harry potter world at universal studios i'm so excited because universal had such a great time with jurassic park went back to the future yeah we're kind of like well you just want to film there so we went for it but a few the main thing that happened was they were reopening the park again to allow a limited number of uh visitors so like listen we're going to open the park so we can't have you there anymore so i rewrote the script for harry potter world then we found we were going to use it luckily we were able to find this location this kind of castle in the middle of the woods but this is the week before we were going to film yeah so i had to rewrite the entire script again and characters we had to add a bunch of new characters so for example uh jack's films was a new character that we added in matpat derrick muller was a new character that we had it in so half of the cast were all new people that i just wrote to the script and i like wildly text and like hey are you free next week to film please um and the reason that matpat as we'll see later as a painting is because he couldn't fly in because you know he'd have to fly and then quarantine there wasn't enough time so or was it five days yeah five days so we had to come up with a way to get him in i was like why don't you just be one of them talking moving paintings like that's fun so jake made my life ten times harder but i made the video ten times better i agree the more anguish eric goes through usually the better the video will be um where's harry potter world located so there's two there's one in uh orlando florida and then there's one here in los angeles at universal studios the one here has um which town is it hogsmeade so it's just hogsmeade here in orlando they have hogsmeade and diagon alley yeah but we also have hogwarts here oh that's right so this thing i rewrote the script to like film there we did a scout went through everything so excited we were gonna like hire the animatronics guys to actually run some of the animatronics that are in harry potter world but it didn't work out but ultimately i think it made for a better yeah version because we got so many more wonderful creators to be in it yeah um so that was really fun also very difficult this house was a different location to shooting because it's uh someone's house yeah someone's house and they were still there yeah so they were very nice to let us film in there yes um it's just like tight quarters like some of the scenes are pretty hard to shoot roxanna's how long did it take to make this episode was two days of filming the narrative as usual then a day for the science um and i think that was it for the post on this one i mean eric how long did you do all the graphics like two weeks but like two solid weeks yeah oh yeah this was towards the end this is our so i was kind of i had to pump out a lot of i think there's like 50 shots on this thank you michelle what is the furthest you went for an episode uh it would be for top gun because we went to pensacola florida to film the blue angels i did yeah i went this was probably oh uh the museum was pretty far too oh the one in chino yeah that was kind of far we had to stay overnight well monsoor chinchilla if we had filmed in harry potter world we would have a little more leniency but since we were no longer related to the property yeah it became kind of an issue right um yeah there's a difference when you're actually at like you get a little bit of uh leeway let's see um all right let's get back into it because casey's got a you know a really big part to play in this episode we really want to give him the time that he deserves his tweet about this oh so we paused it a great part yeah looking good now that you're back alive i need to keep you safe from the dark lord wait hold on am i the boy who lived i don't know if i can legally say that but um your friends are here let's get inside and jake a little bit you can hear the noise

i'll protect you oh and then as usual casey neistat died immediately he's our kenny so this is all vfx by eric yep jake one of my favorite things there let's just go back that's pretty good is that uh dave brown this dave brown one worked out really well look at where the door handle is oh this one now and there's the door handle on the other side of the door because this is not an exterior door isn't it no is it oh yeah you're right this is not an exterior door at all i thought you're gonna talk about the uh pool balls oh the pool balls yeah look at the movie how did they move oh my gosh that's magic pool here we're playing magic oh poor allison so alison allison's amazing as is your brills but allison had just like didn't break her leg she did something and her leg was like yeah she like dislocated her knee so she was in a brace yeah um but she crushed it she did such a good job considering the fact that she couldn't really walk yeah you know i uh died speaking of which casey's dead i no longer have magical abilities anymore and the dark lord and his evil henchmen are outside they're probably gonna break through that door at any moment and uh kill us i think is that all your roles and i got this force you want to talk about that nope no it's pretty convenient oh what's the point of being a wizard if you can't make magic work for you anybody want tea oh that sounds lovely what uh i want earl grey i have a smell that's perfect for tea okay sure you know i wish that i could still conjure forces side note when we talk about forces what we're talking about is the transfer of energy one object to another in physics energy is the ability to do work and work which is what it takes to move an object with a force and force is the transfer of energy that makes it happen and there are four fundamental forces energy doesn't make everything in the universe well work there are the strong and weak nuclear forces which are at the subatomic level then there are the forces of gravity is what holds you to earth but literally every other force you feel is electromagnetic as far as you and your world is electromagnetic energy it makes everything on my face yeah these energy waves travel with the speed of light and can be composed of radio waves tv heat light invisible waves it allows you to cook food in the microwave it keeps your feet from falling through the ground and it can seem well the thing sorry js like likes the lights the thing with lights is um it helps just sell the effect more yeah like if you can use lighting like anything practical to then help sell a visual effect makes it feel so much more real yeah which we do throughout this entire series if something if some vfx is happening we try to replicate it if there's like a light flash or lightning or anything like that we try to replicate it on set as much as possible team pretty magical speaking of magical you know i wish i still had my powers and i could help defeat the dark lord and avenge my friend casey but i don't have a wand and even if i did i don't think i could use one oh you need a wand i mean we're gonna talk about the matpat stuff just open that door yeah let's not pause on this let's just open that door yeah so that's just a picture frame we're transitioning so all the matpat stuff is just picture framed with you know uh green material where the painting should be but uh we were a little pressed for time and i didn't have time to put tracking markers on it so all of the shots are all on ronin so it's all handheld uh gimbal and tracking them which jason and i the other vfx artists on this spent good amount of time tracking these shots because they all move they pan um it was in hindsight probably should have spent some time scratching markers on there but i saved some time but i think they turned out pretty good no i think it looks great and creating a oil paint effect on footage is surprisingly more difficult i thought it was just gonna be really easy i mean kind of they get you like halfway there but you need to like really dial it in yeah it took a while to get the look right but i think we got there in the end oh thank you michelle um all right back to it and transition and the timing for oh the timing yeah well actually hold on transition now you remind me so we filmed matpat's section maybe a month or two after we filmed the episode yeah you did it yeah we did it over zoom so i was just

on zoom with him and it was very difficult like eye line obviously has to match yeah but in his space like how is he supposed to look where i am we don't know what it's actually going to look like yet so he was very nice he set up a green screen in his house just recorded the thing and then sent us the footage and we sent him the costume too yeah as well so he'd be in it and then luckily it worked out and yeah eric was able to make the footage work um tommy has the discord link been posted for you boom there you go get that right anything for you double transitioning tommy double transition all the way across the sky matpat oh it is good oh wait hold on winger aside from matt were there any shots that were practically harder than the rest uh smoke effects pretty hard took a couple days just for the what second and a half during the episode maybe even more um no i mean matpat was probably the hardest the tracking was the hardest because as i said we didn't uh put the tracking markers on we didn't have time all right continue on okay thank you it is good to see you buddy and also you look good as a painting uh yeah juan this is such a small direction that we shot it right now this is very narrow oh i know a guy there's a photo i have the camera just stuck in the corner right behind that door is that a rumor requirement uh sure it is oh willie mosman why are you in a closet you're seeking a wand you've come to the right he was in that thing for so long yeah everyone is each episode probably about 25 minutes long if we didn't have to cut anything out was there no i don't want to be critical william really like my system nope it's my muggle wand emporium let's check out my wares pretty sure that's a flashlight no it's a laser wand that's called improv kids i love this intro remember we were doing it i was like okay just like fake laugh look like we're in a 1980 sitcom intro and he did a great job this flame hiding a steady stream of propane which causes it to release electricity actually in that shot i just want to back up real quick you can see that the entire one actually lit on fire see it coming out where william's hand is we had a little bit of a leak in the entire thing and i think he was supposed to like flick it or something yeah so his entire thing lit on fire right there to release electromagnetic waves those em waves both heat up the surrounding air it's butane right and create orange light it's basically just a super lighter but unfortunately the flame one's reach um whatever we want it was kind of scary it generates everything like it doesn't seem all that impressive but it shocked you like it's shockingly right here we're actually i remember we were playing with if you didn't ground it properly you felt it in slow motion and it looked great so yeah like you could actually see the wood lighting up and burning but we lost that footage hit something it's either reflected or absorbed and in this case it's being absorbed by the atoms of our targets where can you buy the super lighter it comes in the latest curiosity box which causes them to buy the curiosity box it doesn't seem like the best out of the three in the chamber of lasers what do you think of the boards tasers i don't think they're gonna do a really good job though against the evil wizard because he's a wizard okay well individually they might be weak but if tape them together and form a super wand i think that you'll have them perfect okay how about this i'll just take them i'll just no you'd last your tape you keep that tape i'll take these i'll go fight the wizard and i'll see you later why was there a time travel thing uh travel because there's nothing like

there's we always gotta leave some back there's a lot of times uh jack he's in the intro too like that there you see me it he's a dedicated actor especially this is all like what really sells this effect outside of various visual effects you must have gotten in here before the lightning lights and i would like i had my foot up against basically just pull the door handle into my foot to make it look like it was being hit his improv on first i think there's like a two minute take i've been just saying different stuff is that a flashlight what do you mean by lost footage no the phantom has to record to a computer and if the phantom gets powered down while recording by saving the recording it just loses it completely yeah it's good i got you here have you read this book oh i've read every book this is a chocolate version this was a dope room okay death theater must have gotten in before the force field okay they're here uh and we're trapped in a tower i have no magic what are we gonna do brooms nothing that laser could actually deal a lot of damage like not like it hit by that laser that's a great idea but you know what i can't originally in the script out of here some of the things like why do we have electric x y and z because like you know we're trying to make a 20 minute video out of seven books yeah and eight movies we included a good yeah some stuff we just can't include because there needs to be a purpose for it not just fan services just run off to your system lab and figure it out yes sir okay that's a good idea yes sir so jack was great like there was obviously no map in this painting but jack went on for probably like two minutes just talking to nobody answer to all of my problems but unfortunately that's not really an option for me or is it this is a super conductor oh he's had a little dolly move in he has production value for you when we put it on a magnetic track nothing that's because we have to cool it to a bombing negative 178 degrees celsius and how do we do that with liquid nitrogen it looks so cool literally it can't even read anything on the floor nope because it's too cold how did the system acronym come to be well could you it exhibits a really interesting property called the meisner effect which is when a superconductor completely expels magnetic fields that is what is a which i wouldn't recommend doing it was very cool but we were rushed for time i was like i don't have time to put a glove on it does have a huge benefit over regular magnetism in any direction oh yeah if it jake's on a metal table right here so we had to put apple if those two ends touch like if i put it too close together it would never come apart over there so we should be pretty close most pressed for time with i don't know i would say quiet place was the most pressed for time when we were filming we were present workers were always yeah but that's when like we had so many people though it was a logistical nightmare but we somehow did it got it okay yeah uh not having magic is the worst i mean i can't offend myself i obviously can't this was the fly but i will we go painting the painting yes yep i don't know i wouldn't know why it was just so hard in there oh wait a minute he's in all the closets why don't you just use radiant energy to hide yourself light is a form of radiant energy and it's what makes us visible when people are searching for us yeah invisible i'm just kidding uh that shield we'll get back to that thing in a minute now invisibility it might seem like a technology that will forever be in the realm of science fiction fantasy theory is a somewhat straightforward concept like what another greatest discoveries of all time is that light is an electric and magnetic field carrying electromagnetic energy through space now i don't want the electronics reflecting right now to reach the camera i want the energy yeah you kind of have to match your background therefore rendering be

invisible to you but how can we do that how do i get this scientific imagination that's magic well one way is a lens system developed by scientists so we actually had we had this one system there it was really cool using the same technology this invisibility shield utilizes refraction what do you mean behind me it's coated with hundreds of tiny like this is all practical right now redirect the rays of light around whatever we want to make invisible unfortunately there are limitations to this it's not fully invisible and it doesn't deal well with complexity basically it works if i'm in front of something that is the same color pretty amazing also it's cumbersome yeah objects my torso is pretty much horizontally this is due to the unusual shape of the lenticular lens the bumps only bend like this how can our mirrors be real when our eyes aren't green i don't think either of these things is going to hide me nearly as well as harry's invisibility cloak but since i don't have that i'll uh i'll just stick to hiding matt how did you do that was it magic matpat matt eric's favorite shot cause there was no actual painting where did you go oh i never get into my favorite part of this episode yeah i love this ending i think is so good it feels very cinematic hello what'd you say i couldn't hear you know what i'll be right down i was literally hanging out that window for that shot oh casey sanchez got a lot of stairs wow what'd you say what's up oh sorry this hood really baffles singing his fingernails look amazing yeah it looks like yeah that character derek that carries it what are you doing man i thought we worked this out last season we did but hunting you down is just eric did such a good job yeah you should literally so last minute she was there for the whole day and did such a great job cute you think your off-the-shelf science gear can defeat me derek muller a physicist with a phd you're no match for me here we go the big battle this is what i got so you want to talk about this briefly sure let's get back to the wide this was great and this was the last the popcorn's last minute thing i was just like you know be great jack viewers eating popcorn watching this jake's like do we have popcorn and for some reason we so that worked out really well hey kevin yeah okay so let's talk about this shot eric sure because this was cool should we transition uh sure okay transition yeah so for here we wanted to get the lights practically for the you know the ones hitting each other so we set up i think like six or seven yeah it was like a bonfire of lights astaire tubes all like flickering different colors and we set them right in the center so they just like reflect it everywhere and then we just replaced the middle of the stairs just like a we just cloned over and then just tracked it onto the stairs yeah but that's all practical lighting and then someone asked if the sparks are practical no those are all fake yeah this is a composite of like i don't know maybe 10 15 layers of different things happening just for like the wand glows yeah basically everything happens in between our ones is not real yeah that's all fake as eric said he had to create a composite in the stairs because there was just all these two like basically put up like this yeah a circle just imagine like a the traditional campfire that you see with the stick so it looked like that but then some extra tubes on the ground to light us up from the bottom a little bit and then we had you know his color lights hitting derrick my color light's hitting me uh but it turned out really well then you know because we had fans going as well yeah to get that blown [ __ ] oh the power the magic's actually blowing us back um and then just shot the whole thing at 60 frames so it was slow and it gives you that nice ethereal feel of like oh they're actually doing things yeah this is turned out really good actually lord you don't love the kind of new jack's injuries we're artists here lauren okay transition yeah i really wanted to oh are we should we transition back that's fine i really wanted it to be like more of a sphere around you guys but it was we were pushed for pressed for time finishing this episode this is what it looks like one of the last episodes yeah it's good

take that derrick and then he just falls on a crash pad at a frame looks to me like veritasium was easily i love that beaded jabril's arm shadow is still over matte paint get it i'm a painting it's a painting pun well i'm out and i'd like sorry one thing i just want to point out that i very much appreciate is that after they apparate the popcorn is still there that's how they is still there you know we gotta know from qc that the popcorn moves a little bit when they're gone i give man i'm done chasing you jake and if you need me i'll be over on my channel oh and just this was the final show really hurt it's not a wand i don't even walk away like doing this oh the easily joke yes so that was a matpat improv because can you come up with a pun for the end so an easel you know is the thing that you use to paint on you put your canvas on an easel so he's saying very testing was easel lee defeated easily defeated it's a painting pot this is what well that went way different than i expected you won uh i did and i might not have gotten my magic back but at least i didn't die actually i don't think anyone died uh except casey jake oh yeah he's real dead this is true only one person died this episode and that's really rare for us yeah thanks for watching let's just watch the tease oh no come get some let's make me hypothermic tear this body apart i don't think you're going to survive this one nope not more like dumb dumbledore am i right gang transition who has the one now uh i don't know i think no we sent electric boom juan back to him yeah so here's that one the laser wand flashlight is uh at the vsauce office and i believe john who made the flame one still has the plain one just sit in this house yeah lighting candles from a distance yeah um i was trying the zombie episode today was amazing oh thank you so much um yeah i'm excited to talk about that one just asking but why is the stream 720 60 uh because i don't have the fastest internet so i don't want to do 1080p and also yeah that's so the other thing is youtube has options where you can do like a low latency stream so i actually am sending it out of 1080p to be honest uh but if we want to be able to have like more real-time interaction with you the chat i need to lower do the ultra-low latency which lowers the um uh resolution so that is why oh why it's not 8k yeah 840 words i'm gonna do 320 hertz you gotta need you need a predator gaming monitor to watch this stream i wish we could release this episode with ak that would be so fun yeah i mean that is a thing as we said before we film all the episodes in ak yeah on our red cameras but we finish a 4k because there's no real reason yet but the nice thing is if ak does hit a point where like everyone has ak tvs and monitors and your phone can now do 8k for some reason we can re-release them at 8k if we wanted to official effective author is going to be scaled up i'm not re-rendering anything at 8k dario how long did it take to shoot all this all the episodes we started january 11 or no 16th maybe 11th he was 11 and we finished filming completely april and april yeah in april at some point so it wasn't that entire time we think we filmed twice or three times a week yeah we'd film usually and then we had a week off in there somewhere um well you did oh actually he did no i didn't even remember no rest for the wicked yeah i took that time to make the quiet place alien you know what next week's stream we're going to do imax you ready yeah hopefully you have your imac screens at home and if you do it in imax 8k resolution 144 hertz

do like lime and i think maybe more than lemonade anything else i have my hand in a lot of the vlog episodes uh soldier love you too buddy he does have his hand in a lot of the episodes you know he's juggling a lot of different responsibilities a lot of a lot of pots on the stove a lot of buns in the oven can't wait to hear her a lot of moles in the holes oh someone asked what was your favorite costume to wear you did wear quite a few costumes in this one i did my favorite costume probably jeff goldblum costume you've watched that he was so excited when you did the costume test for that i finally felt attractive for once so that one yeah did you like this hand hated the tan yeah didn't like the tan at all when we were color correcting for that jar just like he's so orange it's so hard to color correct yeah it's quite orange uh any other questions before we depart before we leave you forever by forever i mean until next week uh anything else well but you know what i'll do one more time do you have it do you have any expectations for the series no dario here's my advice if you go through life without any expectations everything is great uh no i mean yeah we have high expectations for it because it's a huge reflection of our creativity and our work and we hope that it's good people like it so the expectation is very high especially you know after the first season we won where an emmy for it so the expectations are high super high and i think uh i mean i think we delivered on uh upping season one i think so too we had like the same amount of resources for season two but we somehow delivered a much at least visually higher production value show uh so that was really great oh man it's coming oh there's a delay that's why it took so long uh i said i saw one up here you ever considered it cons uh compilation of deleted scenes there are they're in the bts the zombie one has some uh yeah zombie has some bloopers i think there's some also the titanic one which comes out next week um are you with youtube like right now currently no they're not here but we make the show for youtube yes because they pay for it um are you done with youtube not currently i'm still making a show with them on it right now so still doing that when are you gonna upload regular science math videos i don't know when i have an idea to do it i guess but currently i just really like making this show this took a lot of our time yeah we spent as we talked about the previous one's still off yeah making this show yeah um so we'll make regular ones when i feel like it i guess when i have time um how did you get youtube to pay for it well youtube has originals it's called youtube originals someone like how netflix has originals or hulu has and so they the same thing you just pitch same way you would like at discovery or netflix you pitch a show and if they like it and you go through all the rigmarole then you might get a season out of it yeah that's how it works um what genre system educational non-scripted education what genre is system right i would say scripted unscripted yeah it's definitely a scripted unscripted educational show i don't know it's a weird one because it's hard to bucket it because it's not like an unscripted reality show right but it's not like a better call saul scripted throughout a season show um so it's a little bit unique which i think is one of the reasons i'm really happy that youtube picked up the show because it's a hard one to on paper like when you see it you understand it but when you're just trying to sell the idea and be like this is what i want you to help us make it's a little bit weird because there's nothing else really like even like it's a little bit like mythbusters but it's also a narrative show yeah and it's a little bit like adam ruins everything but it's also a little bit like uh cosmos it's just a weird one it's yeah it's a hard one to make uh summer how much creative agents do you have does youtube control on knows with any partnership like you know we come up with everything and we send it to them and they give us notes and then we send it back to them it's a collaboration yeah but generally they're very they're very good with the amount of control they let us have which i very much appreciate oh sugar of its own yeah we should do a co-stream with kyle hill one day back when i'm on the twitches oh your little brother loves our videos well thank you apollo tell them thanks for watching how much rest did you get from the beginning is the end of post-production
