Now today we will be revealing the best EV chargers available in Australia today and we will be crowning one as the best EV charger brand of 2025. To decide this award, we reached out to the frontline heroes of the Australian solar industry. The hundreds of men and women in the solar quotes installer network. This network of over 590 installers are recognized as being amongst the best in Australia. These independent professionals have provided us with their honest opinions in response to this question. If you were installing an EV charging system in your own house today, what brands would you use? 140 installers replied. But before I get to the results, first a little housekeeping. These rankings are solely based on the votes from genuine installers. Solar Quotes does not take money, kickbacks, incentives, or anything else to say nice things about any brand or manufacturer. And without further ado, here are the results. In third place is Sig Energy. Is this correct? Sig Energy only arrived in Australia like 10 months ago. Oh yeah. Okay. In their first year here in the Australian market, Sig Energy have taken third place with 16% of the vote. Sig Energy offer both AC and DC EV charger options that are easy to install and easily controllable through their app. Well done, Sig Energy. Certainly a brand who have made a big bang in a very short time here in Australia. Now for second place and the award goes to Tesla. The Tesla charger and wall connector have claimed second spot with 17% of vote. Tesla offers one of the cheapest name brand chargers on the market at a measly $800. It is designed to sync perfectly with the Tesla ecosystem, including the legendary Power Wall and pioneering Tesla EV range. Well done, Tesla. Always among the best in this class. One thing I'd like to point out is that Tesla's wall connector is a dumb charger. That means when you don't have both a Tesla car and a power wall, it's dumb in the sense that it just sucks all day until it gets everything it wants. A bit like Elon, I suppose. There are workarounds, but they do cost extra and can be tricky to work out. Not a deal breaker, but something to know in advance. Now, the best EV charger of 2025 is the Frodius What Pilot. The Fernius What Pilot has claimed first place with 18% of the vote. This is the second year in a row that the Austrian powerhouse has taken out this award. The Watt Pilot is a natural choice for any Fonius household. At around $1,800, it is one of the more expensive chargers on the market. The Fonius Watt Pilot comes with a 2-year warranty. Well done, Fonius. Well done. But I must say that 2-year warranty is a little bit disappointing for the price. However, Fonius products have a legendary reputation for quality. So, it's no surprise so many installers choose the Fonius Watt Pilot, which pairs perfectly with a proven and popular Fonius inverter. Bit like Quint Paste and Brie, which I'm sure you'll be enjoying at the afterparty. Leonardo, well done again to the Fonius Watt Pilot for coming in at number one and to the other brands on the podium. It was an incredibly tight competition with only a handful of votes separating first from third.
