Ridge Diamond's Grand Tour Buick's broken — shock. But today, we're going to fix it and figure out what state it's been left in post Grand Tour. This car came back from its Scottish adventure and had just been parked up before receiving a full engine rebuild and new suspension. Now, there are just a couple more small things needed to finish it off before it's ready to take for a first proper drive. This car had a massive overheating problem, as well as a fuel leak. So today we're here to upgrade the cooling system and swap out the leaky fuel tank for a new fuel cell. — Very overheaty and rusty. — So where does it go? — Here. — Okay. Well, you do the things and I will support you and bring you positive vibes. — Okay. I need a screwdriver. — Yep. — I need a flatb blade screwdriver, please. — Is this correct? — It is. Right. We're going to drain some coolant out. — Okay. We're about to have a lot of water. Most of it around the workshop. — Isaac. — Um, at least it's not coolant. It's just water. — Isaac, why have you done that then? — It wasn't on purpose. But because it's on air suspension, the subframes touching the floor, — right? — We're all professionals here. — Yeah. Question. Yeah. — Why is there tape in here? — 20 grand tour treasure. Okay. It's just tucked in. — Easy access. — Yeah. And also, why are there water bottles there? — Uh, they're like catch cans, — right? For what? — I think it was just like in field repairs. Sorry, I'm really in your way. — Just don't move. Just don't move. What's holding you? Ow. Nothing. — Look at that. — Come on. — We get rid of that. — Taa. for now, — Isaac. — Yeah. So, what's kite good is the red fluid's gearbox oil. — So, it's got a gearbox cooler inbuilt into the radiator. So, if anything goes wrong in there, it just fills. It's all coming out of there. — Let's get rid of that. It's — very heavy. — Also, it doesn't smell very nice. Wait, what is that? Is that a switch? — Yeah, that's the battery isolator Grand Tour fitted. Why? — Just I think cuz it was just losing all of its charge. They just bodgeged something to sort it. — Nice. — Uh Isaac, I'm going to leave you to do that cuz I — I don't want to. So, let's have a walk around the car, shall we? That looks pretty disgusting. That looks like it's been sealed with a load of chewing gum. It's pretty gross. Now, obviously, they put this silly wing on the back. And you might think, "Oh, they probably made that out of something real sturdy. " No. Uh, it's basically papermâe. It wiggles. It's like bowing in the middle. And as you can see, more chewing gum has been used to stick it. And it's definitely going to fall off and kill someone on a motorway. Okay. Now, bearing in mind this has been back from the Grand Tour for a very long time. So, realistically, there's should be nothing in here. But I know Rich and I know on a shoot he likes a snack. Or if I was chocolate bar wrapper. Knew it. Absolutely knew it. What have we got in here? Oh, these are all these are old tax discs. That's quite cool. It's actually in pretty good nick inside, which again is very unusual for a grand tour car. This is for the air suspension. Kind of fun. Um, wow. Those are some sunglasses. Don't know why he'd use them in Scotland, but you never know. And other than that, it's pretty done with the Grand Tour. It's now just a car. It's a massive car. You could sleep in this. I could actually sleep in here. I think I might go for a nap for a while. Okay, I'm going to help Isaac. Where does this go? — We'll get those. They go wherever we look sort of straight. We got to get them right for OCD reasons. Probably go. — That's whale. Are you wanting them to be level? — Yeah. — Cuz I'm telling you for a fact now that's not level. — The problem is this is very universal kit and I don't norally fit this style of kit, but because we're old and American, it'll do the job. — Wait, that's actually quite

good, you know. — Well, that was fun. That was probably the best bit about the whole build. It — was quite satisfying. Except yours is wonky as hell. — Well, — how have you even done that? — Look at that. — Wearing things. I've not got gloves on. — That's all right. — It's not very nice, is it? — It won't hurt you. I never have gloves on. — Well, that I'm not like seasoned mechanic like you are. — Oh, yeah. True. I am. — It's fine. Right. That on. This is a bit ugly to put on top of the nice pretty new one. No. — Yeah, we'll just hide the beauty of it. — Okay, cool. Did it go that way? — Yep. — Good job I didn't throw those screws away, isn't it? — That would have been bad. — Okay, well, now what do we do? — Fuel tank. — Noticed how we're missing a length here. — Uh, exhaust. — Yeah. And I think that's very much grand tour cuz look at the end of it bent. Why are they all the way back there? And why are they red? — They're cherry bomb. I think they've got to make it louder. It's a bit Asbo. — Yeah, of course it is. It's grand horseback. — Well, so they've just basically chopped them off. — Yeah, just got rid of a bat box and then put these on. And that one probably hit the axles. They just cut it down a bit more. — And then that one's bent. — Yeah, that's cuz it's hitting the diff. — Nice. — Yeah, it's not great. So, — how high is this car? — Yeah, it's only because of me. — Yeah, it's annoying. We are the worst team. Sorry. — I didn't mean that. I said we're a great team. — Are we? — They look like a 13 mil size. — Like the one we used earlier. — Deep socket. — What does that mean? — Like the real long deep ones. — I actually did know what you mean. I think I overreacted a bit then. I'd like everyone to know that I'm putting the tools back where they belong. Okay. So, when Matt gets cross, he can't get cross at me. Thank you very much. — Woohoo. One strap off. — Yeehaw. — I'm just going to dance for a bit just to lighten the mood. — It's a quick little mood lightener. — La mechanics at the smallest — We got to gently lower it down. — Right. — And then undo some lines, — right? — And try and make sure it doesn't fall off. — Is it you? You promise it's not full of fuel. Uh, it's very low. It had to be drained to the NEC. There'll be a bit in there. Oh, look at that. It's just beautiful that. Right — now, bring her down. — We got to disconnect the hoses now. — Disconnect the hoses. Then bring her down. Do you need anything? — Yeah. I need a flatb blade screwdriver, please. — Like the one we used earlier or not? — Yeah. — Thank you. — Could you support the back of the fuel tank? — Support? Do you mean this side? — Yeah. Stop it falling. — Oh, right. I feel like I'm in like a bush tucker trial. It's all going in my eyes. Do you? — Yeah. — Would you go and live? — No. I'm scared of spiders. — Like really Even if they paid you a million pounds. — Yeah. I'm like panic attack scared of spiders. I freak out. — I'd quite to go and hunt it. — What's that? We have to run away from the people. — They following XC90s. I'd qu to drive — Yeah, I'd rather drive the XC90s. That's very cool. Sounds like a horror film. — Yeah, it feels like I'm in a horror film. This isn't what I thought a fuel tank would look like. — No. — Yeah, it's a bit flatter than I imagined. — Yeah, it's quite small, doesn't it? — Is it really heavy? — No. — Okay. What? Where do you want to put it? — Straight onto the floor. — Oh, we just did that. — Right. — Get rid of these. — Is that the new one? That silver thing? — Yeah. — Well, that's not going to fit. No, it's not going in there, though. — Where's it going? — In the boot. — What? — Yeah, it's a fuel cell. — What? — It's all self-contained. — And now it means if it goes lower, — it doesn't matter. — Doesn't matter. Cuz at the moment, — it's not going to catch on there. — Very close. If you're like in low mode and you get a little bump, it's like, — yeah, — where's the fuel tank gone? — It's time to pop the trunk. — So, it's had lots of holes. And there's quite a few holes in the boot floor. The air tank eventually is going to be built into here behind the glass, — right? — But for now, it's here. So, we either put the fuel tank there, which is why I bought one that's smaller. — Clever. — Or we put it there. So, let's have a look. Then, we set that in there. We need to make a little bracket for it to mount onto. — Ooh, that sounds like — that sits there. fuel lines will come in and then you just go — like that. — Done.
Segment 3 (10:00 - 12:00)
— Yeah. — So, there's quite a bit of work to do on that. So, I reckon we give up and do something else. — I love that idea. — So, we've been sorting out the Buick with parts we found on eBay.
