Send Emails directly form the Power BI Report

For many PowerBI reports, it can be super helpful to have this ability to create emails with information from your visuals. However, with this solution that I'm going to show you, you just need a tax measure. Now, let me show you. So, over here, we have sales information, quot information for different employees. And right there in the last column, you already see mail icon. And when I click on it, it generates this email over here with the right person to send it to, the manager. In CC, we have a nice subject line for the selected month. And here in the middle of the email, we have information about the sales, the quota, and even more data than was in the visual. We have also quota, new deals, closed, turned, arr for that sales employee. That's pretty amazing, right? Now, let me show you how it works. First thing that we're going to do is add a measure. Select the table, go to cell elements, and then here we select the field that we want to make clickable. Then here we can make use of web URL. Let's turn it on. And now we select, of course, the measure that we just created. So now I'm going to click again on Asia. And this time, we would send the email to the right person. All right. Now, of course, we need a subject line and maybe also something within the email. And now in the body, I also want to know the exact sales amount of that person. Now if I want to put this all on a new line, what we need to do is put in between these two sentences following magic characters. So basically Windows and Outlook they understand that this means new line. So I can also put it like this in between. That's also fine. Then over here I can say you rock. Boom. There you go. We have your sales performance was outstanding. You sold this much. You rock. All right. So, it's getting more and more realistic. Now, let me show you an example that's already done that's a little bit more extensive and how I would write it in real life. Now, I'm going to add a new measure and I'm just going to copy over an example that I already have. It's the same thing. It's just more input parameters and a longer body for the email. Now, let's see this in action. We have to go back to our table. And here, I'm going to click on map URL. Instead of mail, I'm going to use our new measure, email performance notice. Now, let's click on James again. And ta, we have the same thing. However, now a little bit more realistic. Now, one last thing that I think is really cool is, well, maybe you don't want to have the link on the employee name because it might not be that intuitive. Instead of that, what we're going to do is remove it from there. And I'm just going to add email performance notice on columns so that we get an extra column. However, I don't want to show this.
