Rebalancing

Want to rebalance your portfolio on M1? Navigate to your invest account and find the PI that you would like to rebalance. Select the rebalance button. You'll see there are two ways to rebalance on M1. You can rebalance in the next trade window or rebalance over time through recurring deposits. Rebalancing over time is called dynamic rebalancing and it's what makes M1 different. As the market moves, positions may drift from your target allocations. So each time you make a deposit, we'll ceue up new buys, putting what's underweight in your portfolio first. That helps bring your pie slices closer to the targets you set over time. No sells, just buys. That means you don't have to worry about taxable events. Or if you want to do a hard rebalance, select rebalance and we'll queue up buys and sells to return your Pi to its targets. You'll see a list of pending buys and sells before they go through. These cells are ordered in a way that minimizes your tax burden. And that's how to rebalance on M1.
