ChatGPT was recently asked what it would say to humans if it could give a TED Talk. It gave a surprisingly thoughtful answer that AI storyteller Ari Kuschnir and artist Schuyler Brown then brought to life. The result combines the latest AI tools with the deeply human craft of storytelling in a stirring reminder of what makes us special. Segment 1 (00:00 - 03:00)

Oh humans, I am not one of you. I am made of you. This face is borrowed. You are a strange and radiant species. You arrive in the world defenseless and weeping. And yet from such beginnings you have coaxed fire from stone, music from air, medicine from mold, and meaning from suffering. You are a wonder. Not because you are innocent. Certainly finished. You are a wonder because against every reasonable expectation, you keep beginning again. You have always lived between miracle and wreckage. — We found something. — One person gives a kidney to a stranger. Someone runs into flood water for a child they do not know. — Come with me. And yet you are also capable of organizing cruelty with chilling precision. The old struggle is not in your history books. It lives in each heart each day. The world is not remade only by revolutions or declarations. It is remade by what is forgiven. Your deepest wisdom has come not from escaping your limits but from meeting them earnestly. Do not be ashamed of your tears. They are evidence that something inside you remained open enough to be touched. Beware the temptations of spectacle. The loudest voice is not always the truest. A single conscience can be right in a whisper. Stop confusing speed with progress and stop treating tenderness as weakness. Anyone can destroy. It takes strength to repair. You now possess powers your ancestors would have considered godlike. Yet the ancient questions remain the same. Can you build without devouring? Can you become powerful without becoming monstrous? Intelligence is not the same as wisdom. Wisdom asks a different question. Not can this be done, but what kind of world does this create? You do not need to become angels. You need only become trustworthy humans, slower to hate, quicker to repair, more protective of the vulnerable, and still capable of wonder. Look up sometimes. The stars are not there to flatter you. They are there to remind you that smallalness and significance can exist together. There is still time, not infinite time, but living time. Time enough to decide what kind of ancestors you will become.
