How to A/B test automation emails in beehiiv (Tutorial)

Hey, in this video I'm going to show you how you can AB test automation emails. So let's say you're in audience and automations here and you create an automation. Let's say signed up as the trigger. The trigger doesn't really matter. What actually matters here is when you select send email. So here you can see there's a trigger and then an email is sent after the trigger. You can actually see there's an option for AB test which allows you to basically you can experiment with different variations and actually see the performance of the different variations. So in this case you can like create the actual first email here. I'm just going to use a random template here and I'm going to go back here. So here this is one email. Let's say this is my main email and I want to test maybe what headline or what subject line performs better. The content is different. Will it affect the open rates? So here I'm going to toggle on AB test here and I'm going to click create email and create the second email. So here is the second email and here I can split the difference how it's distributed. So right now 50% of subscribers in this automation will receive the first email and 50% will receive the second email. Here I can change this to like 30% it'll automatically change. I can also add another email here and I can even lock the percentage. So, let's say I have like 20 variations, but I want the first one to have like 40% at all times because it's like my best version. I can lock this. I can actually change the percentage of the other ones and they'll split, right? So, I can add another email, add another email. There's four that you can add at once. But here, let's just say I have one that's like 21% and I want to split them evenly. I can just click split evenly. Now, I have three emails and basically it'll send out accordingly, right? And here I'll be able to see the performance of the emails. And so here, let's just say I publish this. You'll be able to see afterwards how many people are on the step, how many people have completed this, and all that sort of stuff. And here, if you click on view analytics, you'll be able to see the analytics of each AB test. And I'll be able to also delete the emails at any time and also edit them.
