I'm Justin from lat. a and today we're tackling a big question why are so many companies struggling to see a real Roi from AI my name is Justus Bradley I'm a big skier out here in Salt Lake City and I'm joined by the amazing Katie Jordan Katie would you like to introduce yourself hello everyone yes I'm Katie Jordan and I'm a former behavior analyst CH business marketing and mindset coach and I've been working um with lately for almost seven years now in this AI space of fun and I'm excited to jump into this topic with Justin today and see what we can share with you guys so the problem 80% of business are not getting the value they expected from AI but the truth is it's often not the technology that's failing them it's the approach many companies think AI is a plug and play solution but without the right foundation it simply doesn't work the goal of this webinar is going to be to identify the biggest AI adoption mistakes businesses are making understand why AI isn't delivering results learn how to build a structured approach for AI success and of course we'll sprinkle in how lately. a helps businesses use AI the right way here we go let's start with one of the biggest AI myths out there the more data you have the better AI will work sounds logical right but it's not always true AI is only as good as the data it's trained on if your data is unstructured outdated inaccurate AI will generate poor results bad input equals bad output if your AI isn't performing well then probably it isn't the AI but the data feeding it employees often manipulate AI or withh whole data when they don't trust it making results even worse I'll jump in there as well Justin and just say um a big piece of this is that employees aren't being taught how to use AI effectively and along with that data is how they're prompting and if they're giving accurate prompts while they're you know trying to leverage this new tool to them yeah it's true and I mean as someone a bit of a prompt nerd myself you know the difference between an expertly formed prompt and a beginner level prompt is really Night and Day and The Time and learning process required to build your prompt out properly is definitely worth you as an individual your company as a whole every person in the tech world needs to be learning how to use prompting correctly to help them with everything you can think of AI like a chef if you have rotten ingredients you're going to get a bad meal the key is high quality data and you know like Katie was touching on here's the reality AI doesn't replace people it enhances them but for that to happen teams need to be trained and comfortable using AI you know many companies invest in AI but fail to train their team employees often resist AI because they don't understand its role and without proper training AI adoption fails due to skepticism and lack of Engagement um you know the solution there is you need to educate employees on how AI enhances their work you need to build an AI adoption Champion within your company someone that understands the strengths of it understands the risks and can explain the positives to your team and lastly create clear guidelines on AI usage and the expectations surrounding that you know uh you the best AI implementations happen when the team feels empowered and more importantly not threatened especially when it comes to copywriters graphic artists especially when it comes to those roles where people are most

afraid even in the back of their minds that hey is this threatening my livelihood moving forward absolutely there's a key point to that as well in that um the person who is championing that in your company in your business should also be championing for the team like how do we revisit going back to that first point the data and how do we adjust this as we go because just like marketing social media what sales tactics whatever you're using it's an Ever evolving playing space and so is AI and you want to check for what's working and do more of what's working totally agree um another big state companies make they hand their team to chat gbt login and expect magic to happen but generic AI tools don't always align with your business needs you know Chachi TBT and other General AI tools often lack strategic content AI needs structure purpose and clear direction to generate valuable insights businesses often fail when they expect AI to work without human oversight they expect to hit a button and everything to be done for them um to touch on this from a personal note we see this with social creation tools where they want to just push a button and it scans their whole site it gives you everything to do it schedules it for you it adopts for you it takes your job away if that was a thing there would no be no more social marketers it's a collaborative situation we need that handson oversight to make the AI the best it can be you need to invest in AI tools built for your specific needs you need to ensure your AI is in integrated into structured workflows and you need to use AI to enhance decision making not replace it TBT isn't going to replace the great writers of the world it's going to make them better it's going to help them with drafts with ideas and they can find polish it and get the exact output that they want AI success isn't just about using AI it's about using the right AI in the right way exactly there's so many tools out there now too Justin that we've come across right that are so much more sophisticated even than chat GPT and have their specific preferences for copywriting or for video and um image creation all of that plays a role in this absolutely um so what does successful AI Foundation look like it's a combination of people process and Technology you know AI isn't a Band-Aid like we're like K is saying it needs a structured implementation strategy companies that fail to integrate AI properly waste time and money and then are afraid of future ideas they kind of went too far got scared and now they're taking two steps backwards you truly you need to identify repeatable tasks that AI can automate for you and your team before you get in you need to conduct an AI Readiness assessment know what can it help with what can it not help with where are we going to need the oversight who's going to be able to do that assess if it's working well you need to build a clear strategy before rolling out AI tools it's uh I mean in short companies that treat AI as a quick fix often fail but those who plan integrate and train their teams properly often succeed um yeah you know AI again AI doesn't replace human intelligence truly it amplifies it unchecked AI makes airs AI works best when it's combined with human oversight and successful AI implementation requires human in thee Loop workflows this is often referred to as collaborative AI recently the Harvest Harvard Business Review put out a study showing that collaborative AI is seven times more successful than full automated uh generative AI so again that human touch is a huge differen maker you

truly need to treat AI as a creative assistant not a decisionmaker you need to build processes where humans validate the AI outputs so that they can better hone in on their targeted output and use AI for efficiency and scalability not as a replacement for expertise again AI isn't going to replace your team it's going to empower your team the best AI strategies combine Automation and human creativity as seen with one of our biggest Advocates you can see in this slide signify so now let's talk about AI tools you use because not all AI is created equally uh I mean I'm sure Katie can relate to this we get this all the time there's so many tools out there so many of them are just uh layer of fluff on top of one of the existing llms but there are awesome tools out there in the world that are doing the job correctly that are not just lay andt that are proprietary systems that accomplish what you truly need generic AI tools gener generate generic content specialized AI tools like lately. help Brands optimize personalize and repurpose content AI truly needs strategy structure and audience targeting to be effective you need to use AI built for your specific use case you need to leverage AI for datadriven engagement focused content and of course as we keep touching on you need to train your teams to optimize the AI generated content it is not just plug and play the difference between AI success and failure is using the right AI tools strategically um yeah you know we've covered a lot today and there's one thing to take away it's that AI success isn't just about technology it's about leadership strategy and adoption AI is again not just plugged in play it needs structured implementation companies that fail to clean their data train their teams and integrate AI strategically do not see good results lately.
