Segment 1 (00:00 - 02:00)

Rinne has asked, what is your advice for working on multiple projects during the same time period? Not literally same time, but within the same month. I actually do this a lot. I do work on multiple projects at once. Sometimes they overlap where I'm writing one project in the morning and revising one in the afternoon, a different one in the afternoon. Sometimes, I get, you know, I'll finish a novel. I'm probably because I'm a little bit ahead of NaNoWriMo with my current book. I'm thinking that I might finish it before NaNoWriMo ends, and then I'm like, well, what am I going to do after that? Because I want to keep going with NaNoWriMo and get my 50 K words, so I might start a new book. I might work on something else that requires me to write a lot of words. Not quite sure yet on that, but in terms of working on multiple projects, my recommendation to you is just what I I'll just tell you what I do. I mean, it may not work for you. Everyone's so different. But I create these, like, what do I call them? Blocks. I call them blocks of my day, and I sort of devote blocks to different things. So I have a morning block, and I have an afternoon block and an in an on. Really busy days, I'll create sort of an evening block. So the morning blocks usually from like 8 a. m. to noon or 11, the afternoon blocks, usually from like one to 3 or 4 and then if I need to, I'll do an evening block from like 5 to 7. And then I devote those blocks to certain things. The morning block is almost always devoted to writing. As you guys know, I try to write every single day. So that's pretty much taken. And then it's sort of just about, hey, what story I'm going to put into that writing block. The afternoon block is sort of a flexible block, like I will sometimes work on bonus content for you guys. I'll sometimes work on, presentations for my webinar, other things for the Academy, my newsletter, things like that. Just like other things that need to get done. But if I'm having to juggle two projects, which I'm going to have to do very shortly as I wait for my notes to come back on, system Design book three, I will often put revisions of a second book in the afternoon slot. I try to keep the morning slot open for drafting because it's when I'm the freshest, and when you're drafting, I feel like that's when you need to be the freshest. I can revise a lot easier, in the afternoon, then I can draft in the afternoon. So that's how I try to break it down. Hopefully that helps. To kind of break up your day that way. I think just creating those segments really helps me kind of switch gears without being too tugged in multiple directions. Like, I would never work on two books in the same block, you know? Because for me, I've segmented my day and I've sort of programed my brain to go, okay, that blocks over. It's time to focus on something different.
