This well is out of service. And when that happens, the people in this village have to stop what they're doing and walk really far to gather water from some pretty dubious sources. Both day and night. There are dirty animals and scary animals and dangerous bacteria to avoid. Not to mention that five gallons of water is really heavy. So when this well isn't flowing, life in the community is majorly disrupted. Now, drilling a new well and seeing it come gushing to life is an amazing thing. But keeping the taps flowing with reliably clean water takes a wide community of dedicated people that are willing to show up and help out whenever the need arises. Like the Wahis Mai. They're a group of experts that have the tools and the skills to get the water flowing again.
