Moomoo Trading App

If you're looking for a complete beginner's guide to the Mumu trading app, this is the video for you. We're going to be covering how to open an account, including any signup bonuses, how to use their research tools, Mumu paper trading, buying, selling, and more in this tutorial. Now, I've been using Mumu for over 5 years now, and I'm excited to share that experience here with you guys, and all that I ask in return is that you drop a like and subscribe. But thinking back to my first time using the Mumu trading app, I was extremely overwhelmed. It was like trying to take a drink from a fire hose. So, if that's how you feel right now, don't worry because you're in the right place. And by the end of this video, I promise you that you're not going to feel that way. So, make sure you stick around. Now, I do have to quickly mention here guys that I'm not a financial adviser and this isn't personalized financial advice. But with that said, let's jump into the full tutorial now on Mumu. Starting off with

How To Open Moomoo Account

how to open up an account. And there is going to be a table of contents down below as well. The very first step is going to be clicking the top link down below or visiting ryanoscribner. com/moomu because they're offering my audience free bonuses. Currently, this is going to be free Nvidia stock up to $1,000 worth depending on how much money you deposit. And no, you don't have to deposit that money all at once. So, make sure you check out the link and see what the current bonus offer is because it does change from time to time. And this also helps to support my channel and make videos like this one possible. So, thank you. As far as the rest of the account opening steps, I'm going to be doing a speedrun explanation here using clips from my last Mumu tutorial video. This is a 1-hour ultimate guide to Mumu where we covered literally every single feature in the app and opened up an account from scratch. So, I'll put a card in the corner as well as a link down below if you want to check that one out later. Now, one of the things I want to quickly mention here is that Mumu is available in multiple different countries. I'll put a full list on screen, but this global footprint is a major plus associated with using them. So, after you click on the link, you're going to click on the orange join Mumu button on the screen and then either enter your email or your phone number. Now, this is going to kick off the application process, which is going to require a little bit of personal information. Now, Mumu is required to collect your name, date of birth, social, and your address due to regulatory requirements. One of these is KYC or know your customer laws. And they're also required to report your trading activity to the IRS. But during this process, your information is protected and remains confidential. So, you don't have to worry here. The next step is a questionnaire about your employment, sources of income, annual income, trading experience, and more. And guys, this is going to be a required step for opening up almost any financial account today. From here, guys, you have a very important decision to make. That's going to be whether or not you open a cash account or a margin account. A cash account only allows you to invest what you actually deposit. Meanwhile, a margin account allows you to borrow extra money from your broker to invest more money. As I'm sure you can imagine, guys, investing borrowed money is risky and it's a slippery slope and you do have to pay interest on any money that you're borrowing. So, I would personally suggest a cash account here guys unless you plan on day trading and I'll explain why that is later on. And keep in mind, you can always upgrade your account later on. And then from here, you might also run into some disclosure agreements and a tax certification. Basically, just saying that you have entered the correct taxpayer information. And just like that, you're done with the application process. So, we can now hop over into the Mumu app together and do everything else live. So, what you're going to want to do is visit the app store on your phone, download the Mumu app, and then log in with the same exact credentials that you used during this application process. All righty, guys. So, here we are over in my Mumu account that I use for demo purposes. And before I show you anything here in terms of buying a stock or even depositing money, I want to show you the very first feature you should play around with. And that is their

Moomoo Paper Trading

paper trading simulator. Now, there's going to be two ways to access this. It's either going to be there at the bottom right on your app, or if you're not seeing it there, you're going to click on the more button here, and then you're going to scroll down, and you'll see paper trade listed here on this screen. So, we're going to go ahead and select that. And here's the fun part. I actually invested in some paper trades here in my previous mumu tutorial and it's been a couple of months. So, we can actually see what the results are and then we'll place a new paper trade here together. And you're able to paper trade stocks and trade options. So, that's a huge plus as well. We're going to click here on portfolio and that's going to show us the portfolio that we have put together. And basically what I did last time is put a ton of money into Walmart stock. Now, the reason why I did that is because they had switched over to the NASDAQ and I was like, "Hey, let's go ahead and uh see what happens here. " Obviously, it's not an investment recommendation, but as you can see, I've done pretty well here with that. Um, I have 8,750 fake shares here of Walmart. I don't really own these, but everything here functions exactly the same as the rest of the app and updates in real time. The market value of this position here is 1,125,000 and some change. The current cost here at the top is listing the market value. And below that is what I actually paid for this, which was about 114. And then here's the fun part. This is the P& L or profit and loss. So I'm up about 13%, a little bit shy of that here. But on this $1 million of pretend money, that's almost $130,000. And to the right of that, we can see today's P& L or profit and loss. And I'm up about $12,000 today. and it changes every so often. So, the paper trading feature here is one of my absolute favorites, guys. Let's go ahead and execute a paper trade now. So, what we're going to do is select trade stocks and we're going to look at the trending searches here and we'll just go with the top one here and place a paper trade on Tesla stock. So, we'll go ahead and select that. And we're going to talk in more detail about this order ticket screen in a little bit. So, for now, if this looks really confusing, don't worry. We're just going to go through a quick execution of a trade. We have it set to buy and it is set to the pre and post market and it's set to a limit price here by default, but I'm just going to change that over to a market price. And I'm going to explain what all of this is in a little bit here, guys. From there, we can see the quantity of shares. And at the bottom, it shows the max quantity to buy in cash is going to be 16 based on how much money we have left over in this account. So, we're going to select 16 shares. It's going to be about $5,500 worth of um Tesla. So, we're going to leave everything else just the way it is here. We're going to buy 16 shares of Tesla in this paper trading account. And then, if everything looks good, we'll select the buy button here at the bottom. And now it shows the order is pending or working. And then at the top, we see a notification order status updated. And then if I click on my portfolio, we can now see under my positions that we have Tesla now included. So, in this paper trading account, we now have our original shares of Walmart and now this new position here in Tesla stock. So, guys, that's what I'd recommend starting out here with is just paper trading, familiarizing yourself with the app, and you can even follow along step by step when we actually go into more detail about the order ticket in a little bit and just understand the ins and outs of the app before, you know, putting any real money on the line. But now, what we're going to do is actually deposit

How To Deposit Money

some funds here to invest. Now, if I click here on the account tab, it's going to show my mumu portfolio. And my total cash here is $7. 68, but I'm actually going to leave that be because I'm hoping to leave that money to withdraw it later on at the end of the video to show you those steps involved. Um, but we can also see here the current market value of my assets is $110. 72. My position profit and loss is $18. 40 in the positive. And we can see today's P& L there on the right. We are going to look at this portfolio shortly, but I'm just for now going to show you the steps for making a deposit. So, there's going to be a button here that says deposit with a downward arrow. We're going to select on that. And that's going to bring us to this screen here where we can choose how we would like to deposit. And if you don't have a bank account linked already, you can do it instantly using a service that's similar to Plaid here where you enter your login credentials and it securely links your bank account. But we've already linked it. And if you want to see those steps, you can watch my fulllength tutorial. But at the top, we're going to select a transfer. And then it's going to bring up the default transfer from account, which is our bank account. So, what we're going to do here is make a $25 deposit into this Mumu account. And when everything looks good here, we're going to select submit. And then you have to enter your Mumu trading password, which you set during the account opening process. And then you do have to finally authorize the deposit here on this screen. And then it's going to show you in real time what it's doing. So it went through the steps verifying the account, initiating the transfer, and then on this screen, it shows the pending transfer. Now, what's cool about Mumu is that even though it's going to take a few days for this to process, they give you instant fund availability. So you can actually invest that money right away. So, if I go ahead and refresh my portfolio screen here, you're not actually going to see it listed. But once we actually go ahead and place a trade, you're going to notice that we have additional buying power available to us. And real quick, guys, one more thing I wanted to mention on this screen, you're going to notice they offer a cash sweep where you can earn 3. 35% APY right in the app. So, that's a huge perk with Mumu is that they give you interest on your uninvested cash balance. You do have to enable the setting, but you would just click here on cash sweep and click on this activate button. I don't have a ton of money in this demo account, and I like to leave it where I can show all of the steps. So, I'm going to leave that be for now. But one thing I wanted to mention is that if you use my link down below, this actually gets increased to an 8. 1% APY for the first two months. So, you can also keep that in mind here as an additional bonus. But what we're going to do now is click on the search button at the very top. And we're going

Researching Investments

to invest in one of the most popular stocks right now, which is Nvidia. So you can either type in the name of the company or the symbol if you know it already, and then select this at the very top. And now we are on the actual stock profile here for Nvidia. Now, there's a ton of research tools here, guys, and you're going to have to take some time to really familiarize yourself with all of this, but we'll just do a really quick overview of some of my favorite features. One of the biggest things that Mumu is known for is their advanced charting. So, right now, we're looking at a candlestick chart with a couple of technical indicators involved, a number of different moving averages. But you might be looking at this and saying, "This is a lot. I don't know what I'm looking at here. " So, let's simplify the chart for starters. at the bottom right here where you see this candle icon, we're going to click on that. And this is where you choose your line type. So, for technical analysis, candlestick charts are the way to go, but you're probably more familiar as a beginner with a line chart. So, we're going to switch it over to a line chart. And things should look a lot simpler, but we still have a lot of lines here going on. And that's because we have multiple technical indicators. So, if I click on the four circle icon to the right of that, this is where we can turn on or turn off our technical indicators. So, we're going to select indicators here. And we can see that we have MA selected. I'm actually just going to click on it again to disable that. And I'm going to click on MACD, moving average convergence, divergence, and disable both of those. And now we just have a simple line chart here showing us the price of Nvidia over the last 3 months. And you can click on these different time horizons here and see what the performance has been over different periods of time. But let's say you're looking for maybe a little bit more information, but not all of that detail that we just had. We'll click on the four circles here again. And then we're going to select indicators here, and we're just going to turn on volume. At this point, at the bottom, we're now going to see a bar chart representing the trading volume for these given trading days. And the higher that bar chart is, the more shares traded hands those days. So, there's a lot you can do here with their charting, guys. You can also use two fingers to zoom in and zoom out and pan around here on the chart. And it's honestly one of the biggest things that they're known for. You can go super advanced and load it up with technical indicators or you can just use a basic line chart like we have here. If we scroll down here, we're going to see the order book. Now, every time a stock is trading hands, there's going to be a bid and an ask price. And this is just what buyers and sellers are looking to receive for their shares and offer for shares in real time. and it's going to be updating every few seconds. Now, this is giving us level two market data because we can see all of these individual trades taking place here in the order book. So, it is a lot here that's probably very confusing, but you don't really need to focus on this unless you are actively trading a stock. But for those who are looking for this information, it's great that they offer it for free right here within the app. Most other places you would have to actually pay for this. If we scroll down here, Mumu AI is going to give us a daily brief and weekly brief here related to whatever we have selected. So, this can be great if you're just looking to get basic information about, hey, what's going on with this particular stock or index today? That's going to be right here under this section. And real quick, I'm going to show you their AI assistant here at the top. You can click on Mumu AI, and this is going to be a chatbot where you can literally just ask it questions about the market, and it supplies you with answers. So, for example, Nvidia, is it a good time to buy now? Let's go ahead and click on that and see what the AI says. And just like that, it's going to give us a summary here of that answer talking about the current trading performance, a technical analysis overview, analyst consensus and valuation estimates, uh, market context, and more. So, this is one of my favorite features here for beginners because it's a super intuitive, easy to use chatbot. We're going to click on back for now and just take a look at a couple of other features here before we actually place a trade. A lot of people are curious about options trading. Now, that's going to be above and beyond the scope of this video. But if you click over to the right, you can take a look at the options chain. And you do have to do a separate application here. So, I'm just going to click not now, and we can do that later. But this is where you can view options that are available within the Mumu trading app. And that's where you would go ahead and look at the options chain and figure out if you wanted to purchase any particular call, put options and things like that. Now, that's the extent of what I'm going to show you here is just how to access it. If you want to see a full video about Mumu Options, leave me a comment down below. So, the next thing I'm going to show you here is the news section. This is going to be any news related to the company. Uh, and then you can click on each one of these articles and it opens right up here within the trading app. So you don't have to use a separate browser and that's very convenient. And then all the way on the right here is the company tab and this is where you're going to find some of the most robust research features here, especially from a fundamental analysis perspective. So the charts are going to be technical analysis looking at, you know, what does the price action and volume and things like that indicate. But this is where you're going to see financial statements, earnings reports, valuation metrics, revenue breakdown, and all kinds of different stuff here. So if you're looking to analyze their financial statements like the income statement, the balance sheet, the cash flows, you can do that here or you can click on this button here and view that full financial statement here on a quarterly basis, annual basis, etc. So if you are looking to do fundamental analysis, this is a fantastic app for that. And if you're looking to do technical analysis, it's great for that, too. And that's honestly why people love the Mumu app is because it gives you the best of both worlds here. And you can also simplify it down to just a basic line chart if you're not looking for all of that information. With that said

Buying A Stock

guys, let's go ahead and buy some Nvidia stock. So, we're going to select this page here once again. And now, we're going to click on the orange trade button at the bottom. And I already own some Nvidia in this portfolio. So, we have the option to both buy and sell. We're going to explore the sell feature later, but for now, we're just going to click on the green buy button. And we're back to the same order ticket window as before. So, you have the option under session for regular trading hours, which is going to be 9:30 a. m. to 400 p. m. Eastern time. But they also offer extended trading hours if you want to enable 24hour trading around the clock, overnight trading, or um pre and postmarket trading. Now, I will say there are less participants in the market during those outside trading hours. So, you might want to be careful as there could be more volatility or up and down price moves. And since the market's open right now, we're just going to do regular trading hours. Now, by default, guys, it's going to be set to a limit order. This is where you can specify the exact price or better that you're looking to buy or sell for. So, right now, it's $182. 82, and we can see the current price at the top there, updating real time with the bid and the ask price. So, if you wanted to only pay $180 or better for the stock, you could input 180. and it shows the price would have to drop about 1. 5%. So, this can be helpful for specifying the exact price you're looking to buy or sell for, but your order isn't guaranteed to go through because there's no guarantee that actual price will be met. If you're looking to guarantee order execution, you're going to want to change this over to a market order. And this is going to be at the current market price. And it also has a huge additional benefit. Let me explain that. Now, if you wanted to buy one whole share, you would need $183 and some change here to buy that share. And a lot of people don't have that much money up front. But if you click on this little icon next to quantity, it changes it over to the fractional shares where you can invest in dollar increments. And one thing I want to mention here, guys, is that the $25 deposit didn't actually show up here as available buying power. It normally does. So, it might be related to something to do with the size of the account or a feature I may not have enabled, but I did just want to make that point clear here in case you were wondering. But the good news is I do still have $7. 68 of buying power. So, if we click into this and enter the amount here of five, this is going to be a $5 US investment into Nvidia and it's an estimated 0272 shares. So, we're going to click here on the buy button, and I'm going to enter my trading password once again. And then I can actually place the buy order. So, we're going to go ahead and click on that. And then we have order details here. It shows that it's a buy. We're investing $5. And we're going to go ahead and click here on confirm. And just like that, it shows that the order was filled and the purchase went through. So, if I click on that, it's going to give us that notification. We can get more details if we want. But what I'm actually going to do now is navigate back to my portfolio homepage at the beginning. And now we have under positions Nvidia, but it's going to be more that we actually own. So this is going to be my new position here in Nvidia, which is going to be slightly larger. But if you're curious about your trading history, you can click here on history, and that's going to show you your previous purchases. So we can see on December 9th of 2025, I bought some Nvidia here. And then we can see that there was also today's purchase. and that's going to make up my total investment here in Nvidia. So, we're going to click back here on assets now and take a look at my position. So, for starters, we can see MV/quantity. That's going to show the market value of my position. So, it's 115 and 59 give or take. And below that is the quantity or the total number of shares that I own. In this case, it's 631. Next over we have the average price that I've paid at the bottom 15421 and at the top the current market price 18314. Then we have today's P& L. That's going to be what I've made today on this investment about 65. And then the unrealized P& L here at the right. And that's going to be both a dollar-based value and a percentage based. So, because I bought this a couple months ago and it went up, we're actually up about 18% on Nvidia or a little over $18. And then the portfolio percentage just shows us what percentage of this entire portfolio is in this stock. So, since this is the only investment that we have in the rest of my portfolio is cash, that's why it's showing us 97. 7%. But what we're going to do now for demo

Selling A Stock

purposes is turn around and actually sell this stock investment. I'm not going to sell all of the Nvidia, but we're going to sell off a little bit, likely the $5 that we just purchased here for demo purposes. But I want to quickly mention here that you need to be careful with this because this is actually going to count as a day trade. And this is where you have to be careful with your Mumu account because of something called PDT rules. What this basically means is that within a cash account, which is what I'm using here, you're only allowed to make three day trades within a five trading day window, which is going to be trading in and then out of a stock in a short period of time. Now, if you're looking to do more than three, you could then use a margin account, and you're required to have a minimum balance of at least 25,000, and that's going to get you around this limitation. That's why I mentioned this at the very beginning. So, if you are planning to day trade with your Mumu account, you might want to look into that separately. And if you end up doing more than three day trades in that 5day window, you can have your account restricted on trading. So, you don't really want to have that happen here, guys. So, just keep this in the back of your mind, but I did want to make you aware of that. So, what we're going to do is select Nvidia here at the bottom once again. We're going to click on the trade button, but this time we're going to select sell. And it's going to bring us up to the same order ticket window here as before, but instead this time we have sell selected. We're going to leave it as the regular trading hours. We're going to change it over to a market order. That way we can use the fractional share investing. Right now it's set to a share quantity, but we're going to change it over to amount. And we're just going to sell off $5 worth of this Nvidia. It's going to be about 0273. And then if everything looks good, we already have our trading unlocked here from before. We're just going to click on the sell button at the bottom and then confirm our sell details on this page. And it's actually saying here that with the dollarbased feature of choosing the dollar amount, you can actually only do that on the buy side. So what we have to do is actually change this over to quantity and use the uh numbers here to try to get close to about $5. So we'll try 02. Um that's actually way off. So, I think 002 is more like it. That's actually 37 cents. So, let's try the 02. I think I might have typed it in wrong. 025 uh27 is going to be close to about $5 worth. So, now we are selling off a specific quantity. And what we're going to do is click on the sell button here at the bottom and then click here on confirm. And this time the order was submitted and it has gone through. So, if you are selling, just keep that in mind. You can't enter a dollar value. you have to enter a specific amount of shares. And now if I navigate back here to my portfolio screen, we should see my cash balance has updated. And it has. So I now have $762. So now we sold off about $5 worth of Nvidia here. And I'm going to show you how to cash out back to your bank account. But there is a very important thing to mention here, and that is the fund settlement. So when you sell off a stock, it's not going to happen immediately. And that's because of something called T+1 settlement. Basically, that means it takes one trading day for the order to settle. So if you sell a stock on a Monday, you would be able to withdraw those proceeds on a Tuesday. So we're not going to be able to withdraw the money that I just sold off here. But if you notice here, we have both a currency/cash listed of $7. 62 62 and settled cash of $2. 68. That settled cash is going to be what you're able to withdraw. And if you look right above that, that's why it says withdrawable $2. 68. But I will say that our cash buying power listed at the right is the full $7. 62. So even though the order doesn't settle right away, they still allow you to invest those funds again if you want to even before T+1 settlement. So, let's say we want to now transfer back to the bank account. You're going to select the transfers button here at the top. And then you're going to click here on the withdraw button. And then you have the option here for a withdrawal or a wire transfer. 99% of the time you're going to want to do a. So, we'll click that at the top here. And then it's going to bring us to this screen here where we can choose the withdrawal settings. So, right now it's going to be transferring from my Mumu Cash account, transferring to my linked bank account. And we can see available amount here is $2. 68. So, we'll go ahead and type that in. And then when you're all set with this and you want to initiate that withdrawal and cash out to your bank account, you're going to go ahead and select the submit button. Enter your trading password. And just like that, the withdrawal here was submitted and that money is going to be heading back to my linked bank account. So, that's how you would cash out here after you place a trade to sell. But just keep in mind you do have to wait for that T+1 settlement before your funds can actually be withdrawn. Now, I

Additional Features

do want to show you a couple of other quick things here that you might find helpful in the Mumu app. All the way at the left here is going to be your watch lists. So, if you're looking to put together a watch list here of stocks to keep track of, you can easily do that here on this screen. And to add something to your watch list, you would just click here in the search icon, and then you're going to type in the name of a stock. So, we'll go ahead and use Ford, for example. And then, if you want to add it, you click on the heart icon here, and it's going to add that now to your current watch list. So, we're going to click on done. And then, if we click on cancel and navigate back at the very top, we now have Ford listed. And you can edit the watch list very easily by holding down on anything. And then you can either favorite it, move things up or down, or remove it al together. So, just to show you, we'll go ahead and remove Ford, which we had just added. And just like that, we can take that off of the watch list. You can also scroll to the right here to get additional information if you're looking for uh volume and different statistics like that, market cap, etc. So, the watch lists can be extremely helpful. The next tab over here is going to be the markets tab. And this is where you can keep track of the global markets as well as global indices. Here, right now, it's listing the major ones in the United States, the Dow Jones, NASDAQ, and the S& P 500. But you can click on these different markets here and get the performance of what's going on around the world in different trading markets. So this global market data is another huge plus to using the Mumu trading app. You can also get access to index futures and commodities futures. So if you're investing in gold, for example, you can track the price of gold futures right here within the Mumu trading app. And they also offer support here for crypto. So even for example, Bitcoin, you're able to track the price and place trades here for cryptocurrencies within the Mumu trading app, giving you a wide variety of assets that you can invest in. You can also select the markets tab once again and choose stocks at the very top. And this is going to give you a ton of information about equities or stocks. The indices are mentioned at the top, but then we have lists of upcoming IPOs if you're looking to track initial public offerings. And you can click into this as well to get information about upcoming IPOs and there's even some that might be available from time to invest in. And then newly listed IPOs and their corresponding performance. You can also take a look at earnings data. So if you're looking to keep track of major corporate earnings, this app is honestly great for that. There's an earnings calendar feature and details here surrounding major corporate earnings. So for example, JP Morgan results are there. There's also a section here where you can look at earnings beats. So, Micron Technology just had an earnings beat uh economic calendar to keep track of the major events that could impact the markets and all sorts of other useful stuff. So, I would encourage you guys to just explore and play around with the Mumu app over time. You now understand the basics and how to place a trade, sell a stock, and all of that. And over time, you can just build upon that and find all sorts of new features here that you'll find useful in terms of researching and all of that good stuff. So, that's going to be it for this Mumu tutorial here, guys. I hope it helped you out. And if you made it to the end of the video, make sure you drop a like and subscribe if you haven't already. Now, Mumu does also offer a full-blown desktop trading platform that's going to be a full trading workstation. We don't have time to cover it in this video similar to the options trading.
