Japan’s amazing interactive art exhibit: teamlabs biovortex Kyoto!

Where have I ended up? This is team labs and it's a must stop visit in Japan. There's several of these interactive art exhibits all around and this new one in Kyoto opened recently called bio vortex. Oh my god, I feel like I'm going to fall over. — 10,000 square meters across four floors and more than 50 different pieces of artwork. What's cool about this one is how interactive it is. There's a liquid floor, a few rooms that let you play with light and one of the craziest ones is this huge area full of some kind of weird soapy bubbles. You do have the option to buy a rain jacket to cover up before you head in, which I would recommend. This was definitely an experience. It really felt like there were endless rooms to explore. There is no actual map or a route, so you kind of just explore and find things along the way. There is an app that will give you more info about the artwork, but for the most part I just wandered around. It gets really confusing because even if you've been in a room before, they change out the scene so often that you really can't tell where you are or if you've been in there before. Another favorite was this room full of reflective balloons that are floating around and creating cyclones that you can walk through. It was pretty chaotic, but everything in Japan is so orderly that even the chaos here seems calming. After touring through a few more rooms and hitting the athletic forest, it was time to say goodbye and look for an employee to help me find the exit because I have no idea where I am.
