They got hacked and now you will get attacked ☹️

It's not the kind of email that you want to start your day with, but today I received an email from Have I Been Pwned letting me know that I've been pwned. So, in this example, I'll just use a email test@test. com to show you the problem. Udemy has been hacked. Shiny Hunters have leaked 1. 4 million unique email addresses belonging to customers and instructors. The data includes names, physical addresses, phone numbers, employer information, and instructor payout methods including PayPal, check, and bank transfer. Unfortunately, we live in a world today where it seems like every other day there's a company being hacked and your data is being leaked in some kind of data breach. When I looked at the list of breaches earlier today, Udemy was at the top, but now I see AT& T, 5. 5 million records have been compromised in addition to the 1. 4 million from Udemy. We have a cruise company, 7. 5 million. Amtrak, and it just goes on and on. But, that's only the start of the problems. Your data is out there and it's going to be used against you. I'm already seeing attacks against my Udemy account and other accounts because of the state of breach at Udemy. The problem is that hackers are selling your data or giving it away for free. Once it's posted out there, hackers are leveraging your data against you in this free report from Radware. They talk about how hackers are moving from what we often see in the movies, hackers wearing hoodies, so young men wearing hoodies, to founders. As in, they're running market places. They are running big businesses selling your data or creating software that other hackers can use to hack you. So, AI is being used more and more today. They use an example here of Substack where 700,000 records were breached, but this stuff is happening all the time. They monitored different breach forums to see what was going on and they discovered some really interesting stuff. Notice the visits to these sites such as cracked, breach forums, etc. Notice the age distribution on these sites. They have a section here which I found really interesting, identifying AI-generated vibe code, and they look at how you can determine if a website or software has been created using AI. So, some really interesting information again contained in this report. You have to register, but you can download it for free and learn what's happening in the real world. Radware have a whole bunch of these reports which you can get access to for free. Very interesting to see what people are saying on social media versus what's actually happening in the real world. These reports give you real-world insight into the hacks that are taking place.
