Breaking the top mistakes e-commerce founders make with their ads from annoying to brand destroying. Not using captions in your videos. 80% of people don't watch the videos with sound. They rely on captions. If you don't give them that comfort, you're going to be scrolled past by. Going too broad with your campaign structures. Now, let's say for example, you run multiple products in multiple countries and you only have one campaign. That for me is going too broad because if something works, you have no idea what worked. And if something does not work, you have no idea what didn't work. Not having a retargeting funnel. Someone searches you on Google, lands on your site, adds to cart, but then leaves. — What happens to them then? If you don't have a mechanism in place to retarget them with contextual ads that speak to the objections they may have had when they were at the cart phase, for example, you are leaving a lot of money on the table. Because that's the warmest audience you will ever have and you're just letting them go. Now, a tier and I see this so much with a lot of founders that I speak with every single week is only running one specific format when it comes to their ads and not having what we call creative diversity. You see, if your ads all look the same, your audience will go blind to them. They won't resonate with your customers. You need a lot of formats combined with a lot of different angles. I unfortunately see this a lot as well is just not tracking your numbers and not being like a hawk when it comes to what are the inputs that we're putting in and what are the outputs that we're getting. So, if you don't know your unit economics, break-even points, your break-even tax, your break-even ROAS, all the numbers that make you a profitable business, essentially, you're just flying blind and it leads to disasters. I've seen brands spending $60,000 per month and not knowing if they made a single dollar that month. Not knowing if they were profitable. And that's a problem.
