We Made A Glaucomflecken Community!

Hey, guess what? We made a Glockenflecken app. It's called I helped. It doesn't matter who made it. It's made. But, this is not an app for my content. It's an app for a subscription community we built called Humor and Humanity in Medicine. Now, hang on. Let me explain why we're doing this. I started Glockenflecken back in 2016 on the website formerly known as Twitter. Now, back then the MedTwitter community was a great place. I made so many friends there, people I still talk to this day. Uh these were the early followers of Glockenflecken back when I was telling painfully specific ophthalmology jokes. It really wasn't that great. I got better. But, unfortunately, the MedTwitter community is now dead. It died a tragic death. And me, my wife, so many of my colleagues in healthcare have been looking for a replacement for that. As everybody kind of scattered in the wind. And this app, this community, which launches on Friday, is our attempt to rebuild that community. We wanted to create something that was more private, ad-free, no algorithms, no social clout, just people and conversations that really matter. If you've seen any Glockenflecken content, you know what really matters to us is humor in medicine. There's so many great things to make fun of, and it's not just orthopedic surgeons, but also humanity in medicine, which is something that we need now more than ever. This community is a place you can go and explore those ideas with other trusted healthcare professionals. Now, anybody is welcome to join, but this is a community specifically designed and curated for people who see patients. And that's what separates us from a social media network. This is not social media. No, this is your subscriptions allowing us to create an active space where we can bring you discussion topics, Q& As, live events, interesting guests, interesting conversations, where we can learn from each other, we can advocate for and with laugh with each other, all without internet trolls and peddlers of misinformation that muddy the waters.
