make that possible. Cuz once you have infinite scale, you could commoditize the hell out of payments. So, we're going to We're driving the cost of payments to zero. Agents would always choose fastest, cheapest, open, um most optimized route on internet. And they're not going to care about your community. about, you know, all your means. They're going to care about actually making something happen. And that's going to be sweet. So, it's a win-win. Consumers win cuz money movement is free. And they get increased um yield at their saving. Um businesses get better operational um efficiencies by not having to account for those costs. The network wins because they earn additional revenue from stablecoin inflows. But also more transactions, complicated transactions happen on a blockchain, meaning — greater increase in revenue for the chain overall. That is a perfect um world that you want to be in. Everybody wins. Maybe the banks might not be happy. But everyone else is happy. Hi everyone, and welcome to Sui live in Miami. I'm joined by Adeniyi Abiodun, CPO and co-founder of Mysten Labs, the company behind Sui. Adeniyi, thank you so much for joining us. How are you doing today? Doing fantastic. Thank you so much. Yeah, so we're here, you know, in Miami. It's Sui's first time in My in

the US for an event. — First live event, period, as well, actually. First time we've done a live event in terms of like streaming it. So, yeah. Yeah, absolutely. And how's it going so far? — Going really well. We just had our keynote talk, um but very excited. Lots of new things happening across the ecosystem that we'll be talking about through today. Yeah, and we're absolutely excited for all the speakers and to hear what's going on in the ecosystem. But, you know, before we get started, I think we need to settle this once and for all. Is it Sui or SUI? Sui. Sui. — Sui. — Yeah, there we have it. — S U I Sui, not Su wee. It's Sui. It is Sui. So, there we go. Uh So, you know, the the founding team behind Sui came from Meta, where you

guys have experienced scaling for billions of users, right? And, you know, you guys created Sui at a time where, you know, other blockchains had already existed. So, what were you guys seeing in the crypto industry that, you know, that caused you to build Sui? Yeah, so the first thing is to realize the goal that we would try to actually make happen Facebook was make sending money as easy as sending messages, right? Like, once you remove barriers and costs, like you used to pay for bundles for SMS back in the day, right? There's an element of like worry about how much I'm spending on my data or how many messages I'm sending. Once you made that communication barrier gone, you allowed a lot of new innovations to be built on top of freely communicating with people. And we thought that same paradigm needed to

happen for moving of money, right? Moving value should move the same way data moves on internet, quick, free, and unencumbered. So, our goal was really to make that possible. So, what we were seeing on the internet, or at least with existing blockchains, they were all building as though we were in the 1980s. Like, they were assuming like they literally were building like Uber, right? Like, there's tight constraints, namely we have a fixed number of cars, fixed number of drivers, namely there's fixed number of blocks, right? They always talk about block space, right? There's a maximum amount they can support. And we were trying to we were thinking, why is nobody building blockchains like search? Search scales horizontally. Search doesn't I mean, Google doesn't say we can only support 100,000 searches per second. Their business lives and dies by the number of searches they can process in parallel. So, they found a way to add more hardware to ensure their business can become a growing

concern by supporting more users dynamically. So, we realized like, okay, people are still building like we're like the Stone Ages. Let's build this like we would build a Facebook, namely search. So, Libra version one was one to get out there. Don't make too many changes, get blockchain out there, and Libra version two was going to be this highly scalable system that scales infinitely with user demand. We, of course, didn't get a chance to land Libra version two at Facebook, but we'll be able to land that at Mysten. So, Libra version two is really what we're announcing today, namely the fact that you'll be able to start moving money for free on Sui. Cuz once you have infinite scale, you could commoditize the hell out of payments. So, we're going to We're driving the cost of payments to zero. And in that world, not many companies exist, right? Like you do not need companies that exist today in charging fees to on-ramp people. So, it's a design decision that allowed us to actually meet the goal of having this universal ubiquitous layer for moving money. And you know, speaking of, you know, all the users that are coming and all, you know, processing that tran- those transactions, right? Agentic payments is just a real big topic of conversation, and Sui is one of the first names you think of when you hear about the agentic economy, agentic payments. And it seems like every day there's a new AI agent being spun up, a new technology, you know, being created. How is Sui positioned to handle that type of velocity? — Yeah, as we saying, you know, the internet traffic is mostly auto-

autonomous. It's largely automated. And when you remove the barrier of moving money, well, the thing that would drive most payments at that point would be autonomous systems also. So, in that world, you're going to need a scale that you've never seen before, right? Humans at 4 to 5 billion internet is interesting, but multiply that by 100 or even more when you have So, the scale of systems, monetary systems, existing financial platforms and rails need to really be shifted differently. And that world, the reason why we're poised to win is one, we can handle the scale that agents demand. No one else does.

Everybody on this operates under this constraints of fixed amount of capacity. We don't. So, agents would always choose fastest, cheapest, open, most optimized route on internet. And they're not going to care about your community, and I'm going to care about, you know, all your memes. I'm going to care about actually making something happen, and that's going to be sweet. We're always going to have a bandwidth to support transactions. We're always going to make the transactions free for you to move. We're always going to ensure that the network is available and allows you to do things atomically. Today, we announced payment intense, which is a way for agents to move money on chain across any number of applications dynamically, and this is something that's never been possible in Web 2. Let alone Web 3. So, this is where our technology starts to really drive clear line demarcation as to what people have been playing around I would say POCs proof of concepts to real production grade systems at the scale that agents are going to need. And you know, speaking of that different world, we're obviously we're here in Miami. We're in the US, and you know, this Web 3 world it you know, it's not going to be possible without, you know, the regulatory environment, right? And, you know, the Clarity Act and genius is a very big topic of conversation here in the US. And how do And I want to ask you, you know, how do you grow and build a blockchain while also respecting compliance? Yeah, I mean, one of the one exact touch point on that is recently we today we talked about privacy, the fact that we believe you can't have mass scale consumer adoption without any notion of privacy, but also at the same time, you have to think of compliance.

Right? It's we're not trying to encourage mixing pools and people losing money or stealing money with invisible pools. What we want to do is actually help consumers have the consumer protections they get today from centralized companies. So, our privacy primitives have been built with that in mind. So, you'll be able to move money on internet for free and also privately on Sui. We've built this with collaborations with exchanges and listings companies, so only sender or receiver recipient can see what was transferred. But more importantly, if you're law enforcement or you know, or a company that's required

to report malicious activity, you'll be able to at least generate transactions to be able to serve that to the government or whatever agency that may be. So, that matters because existing schemes do not give you that, right? It's all well and good to say it's all private, but then if I can't on-ramp with that money, it's useless for consumers. Right? And if that money becomes tainted because it's participated in some illicit transactions, then it's really useless for consumers. So, we care about keeping users safe, but also ensuring that the paradigms that exist today to ensure that, you know, regulatory oversight can be enforced is something that also is paramount to us as a business as well. Yeah, and I think that's very important. And obviously, you know, Sui has very impressive speed and I think, you know, users are one thing, but you guys are also I think, you know, well positioned for institutional adoption. Can you explain why Sui is the right fit for institutions? Yeah, we've actually Today, we're going to hear more about the institutions that are adopting Sui. It's an exciting time. Since we talked about the fact that institutions no longer need to remit money for making movements of money, and we also have Sui dollar. The reason why institutions are going to continue to adopt Sui is one, they don't have to have a There's no op-ex cost for moving money anymore. They can pass that savings down to their users. Also, we get the opportunity to share some of the yield that traditionally went to individual companies and share that directly with businesses. So, not only do you get to use Sui for moving money for free, you also get to participate in the yield that you bring on chain

directly. So, it's a win-win. Consumers win cuz money movement is free and they get increased yield that they're saving. Businesses get better operational efficiencies by not having to account for this cost but also can reduce their own downline posting costs to their business by participating in some of that yield. Yeah, I listen as a user free and increased yield sounds great to me. — Exactly. But to do that you need infrastructure. Right? Like you could say anyone could say we're going to make transactions free but overnight your transac- your network gets over- um you know over- um swamped and then what do you do? Then you have to now charge fees again unless you can um provide more capacity. It's useless making it free. So that's something we've been able to achieve. Ah, well, fantastic to hear. So you know Sui also is coming up on your third year anniversary and you know congratulations it's a very great feat in this industry. Where do you see Sui in the next three years? Our goal is really to be the center of money movement globally and that's always been the goal. Whether you're moving money for in-game assets, financial institution to financial institution privately, whether you're consumer and you need to send money to your family in Botswana, to Brazil and you're not being paid you're not paying any fees. We believe having this rail, this is way more efficient than Swift, Visa, way more efficient than any financial infrastructure that has ever been built in time. So our goal again is to dominate a world where money needs to move and in that world agents are going to need to move money. Humans Businesses are going to need to move money. They're going to need to do it efficiently and we're ready for that and I think we're uniquely poised to win that market. Adeniyi, thank you so much for joining us. This has been a pleasure.
