Oracle Red Bull Racing analyzes how Suzuka’s demanding layout and new Formula One regulations influence tire strategy, overtaking, and race decisions. See how Oracle Cloud enables real-time simulations and adaptive strategy during changing race conditions at https://social.ora.cl/6003BBRjuZ. This Oracle Strategy Series race briefing explores how race strategy unfolds at the 2026 Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka, one of the most technically demanding circuits in Formula One. Known for its high-speed corners and limited overtaking opportunities, Suzuka places a premium on track position and precise strategic execution. Weather variability adds another layer of complexity, with conditions ranging from wet to extremely hot, requiring teams to prepare for multiple race scenarios. Historically, Suzuka has favored two-stop strategies due to its demanding nature, but recent races have shown that one-stop strategies can also be competitive, depending on tire performance and race conditions. New regulations introduce additional challenges, including changes that affect downforce and stability, particularly in high-speed sections such as the approach to 130R. These factors increase the difficulty for drivers while also influencing how teams plan their race strategy. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure supports the team by enabling large-scale simulations before the race and real-time analysis during it. This allows strategists to respond quickly to unexpected developments such as weather changes or race incidents. Together, data, technology, and strategic decision-making help teams navigate complexity and execute effectively at Suzuka. I say for Japan just hit the gym for the neck. It's the toughest one. Hey, it's Isaka. Welcome to Oracle strategy series. This is your race briefing. This is your Oracle race strategy briefing for Japan. Japan can be very variable. We've had some very wet races there or it can be incredibly hot. So at this point it's pretty tough to know what's going to happen. Uh we just need to be prepared for every eventuality. — Historically Suzuka's generally been a two stop. It's quite a demanding track. However, last year everybody stopped or most people one stop. So it'll be interesting to see what the strategy is this year um and how the new regulations might impact that. See if we head back a bit more towards the two stop or if we still end up with people one stopping. 130R is one of the most demanding corners on the entire F1 calendar. And something new this year is we have the active error, the straight mode zone prior to 130R. So we're going to have the cars pend straight beforehand with the both the wings backed off, less downforce, less stability, and then closing again before 130R. So it's going to create a really challenging situation for the drivers. I expect — conditions can be very different in Japan year on year. So, when we've got things like wet weather or scenarios that we're not expecting, maybe although we've qualified well, then something doesn't go as planned at the start, that's when the Oracle Cloud technology really comes into its own. Um, and allows us to run all our simulations live and really keep on top of how any changes in conditions or in our position in the race should impact our race strategy. — Typically, track position is pretty important in Japan. It's not one of the easier tracks to uh to overtake. Potentially with overtake mode, there might be some more opportunities to get ahead of our rivals, but we're expecting it to be a similar characteristic and not an easy overtake. So, it's going to be important to get the strategy called right.
