ORGANIZE | Tackling a TEEN Closet! #satisfying #momhacks

Hey guys, we're tackling a teen closet. It's not that bad, but while Presley's away on a school trip, I figured I'd just jazz it up a little with some hacks, tips, and stay tuned for what I think is my favorite organizing DIY ever. Where should I start? Oh my gosh, the hoodies. They multiply. We're committed. So I've never seen this, but I'm trying bookends to keep them separated. And keeping with the theme, I love using books to fold clothes because you can find the perfect size. And this was really cheap and I think looks great. Hopefully it stays that way. Pants. Presley will be like, "Do I want this pair? This pair? " every morning. Yep, so moving them to the hanging space below, I always use kid hangers for jeans and sweats, and I think this is more accessible and hopefully harder to mess up. Okay, how did I magically make space? Well, first, the soda can tab hack to cascade hangers for things like tank tops actually works. I saved a ton of room rolling up coats into their hood and storing that kind of stuff in the bins above. And then I of course added to Tessa's hand-me-down pile. Um more on the sentimental stuff later because I want to get to her club soccer and school uniform stuff. So we had these round bins that kept things separated, but just like really too messy for finding crucial items. There were some moments. And I'm always the one blamed. So I'm swapping them out for rectangular bins from Marshalls. Buckle up. Okay, we are doing DIY dividers using plastic cutting mats. Maybe this is out there, but I hadn't tried it. You measure to size and then cut thick enough slits halfway up each side, put them together, and bam. Look at this. You have shirts, shorts, warm-ups, socks. It is all there and it makes me so happy. You can usually find these mats in HomeGoods. I'll link the ones we used from Amazon because they do have to be thick enough. Moving on to the wall, we had this like hanging pegboard that just did not look good. Those poor medals lost. So I'm swapping that out for something sleeker. Um okay, I happen to have this picture frame. So I was like, "What if we wrap the medals and like tape them in the back? " I think it looks good and it was super easy. You might need to go bigger next season, but this wall is looking way better now. The drawers were not horrible, but it's because I manage them. So I really want Pres to put away her own clothes, so I am labeling with the chalk marker. It is a work in progress that we are fine-tuning this summer. Okay, other little details. Um I picked up this storage stacker from TJ's to kind of arrange her purses. I have this tray. Presley actually cleans up every night, but I noticed like she didn't have a place to put clothes that weren't ready for the hamper. I feel like we all need that. And then I noticed she had a few pictures put up, so I'm like, "Ah, just add to that as she heads into high school next year. " Oh my gosh. So speaking of the sentimental stuff, so I was just going to give away her old sweatshirts. In fact, I did give away some, and then I fell down this rabbit hole of quilts. And wow, there are some really talented people, and you can use jerseys and like mix materials. So I have a bin. You can cut off sweatshirt arms if you need to save space. Just something to think about. Okay, here's a little before and the after just in time for Pres to get home. Love it. So good. This is my favorite thing. I love it. It's so much more organized.
