Creating my own anime pt. whatever

I'm back. No music is playing. No music. Pay again. Wow. Feels so It was copyright. They [ __ ] yeeted me off the page. off the website. Copyright. YouTube sucks. I know. It's so annoying. It's like, just let me do my thing. Just let me just like I'm just have a stream where I listen to heavy music and make anime. And it's like, can you just let me do that, please? So, right now, we'll have this in silence. Um, we'll see how that feels. Definitely feels a little unnatural. I'm so used to the vibe of heavy pounding double bass drums in my head while I draw. I guess I can't recommend a band. No. Or not today, apparently. All right, let's uh let's sketch this kid up a little bit. and the ever growing cast. We love that you're enjoying finding new music. Hello. Welcome back. Yeah, I got to growl. Got to do a little death metal growls. I'm getting a little hungry. We're gonna we're going to do some rough sketching of that bully character. Um, and then we will uh call it for the day. We already got two hours in though. That's pretty good. By the way, on Twitch you can listen to music because they delete copyrighted sound in the VODs. Yeah, I'm aware of that, which is really cool. Um, that is one of the big benefits of Twitch. Um, so I'll consider that. Um, yeah. Maybe I just [ __ ] hate Twitch. It's not like uh I just think there's something about the way Twitch works in terms of the discovery, the lack of you can't create a thumbnail. There's so many different things that I'm not a fan of. Um, I also like that this is connected to my YouTube channel where you can see my [ __ ] Um, but yeah, I'll think about it. Okay, here's what we got to do. Got to stop thinking for a moment. We're going to get to drawing this kid. Just have a look at her. Think there's some tweaks I want to make, but for now, it's good. It's good enough. Uh yeah, let's have Cassu here and then we will just get into sketching him. James is taking YouTube uphill. How did you start learning drawing? It's a good question. Uh do I have an answer for that? Um, you know, I mean, when I look back, like I drew so much as a kid, so that was like a big thing. And cuz I when I used to describe it, I didn't really account for all that the time I spent drawing as a kid. Um, but back then it was like drawing what I saw. um copying drawings, copying a lot of Dragon Ball Z and stuff. Then when I left school to draw more seriously, um I was uh kind of went based on like doing some perspective stuff and reading a lot of books. But I think I would do it differently if I was to or maybe slightly differently. I don't [ __ ] know. Who cares? Maybe you care because you're trying to figure

out how to draw. Um I actually take that back. I wouldn't do it differently because it worked out and I like where my drawing's at right now. So I wouldn't change it. Um also want him here for scale. Oh, why did I do them on the same layer? Let's change that. Wow, no music sucks. Don't like the no music. Going to make him I'm not much taller than Cassu. Actually could be like slightly taller. The only issue with the folded arms, like it's great posing. It just makes it a little harder to see the design. So, I'm not certain I want to keep it that way, which is a bummer because it's a cool pose for the character. one folded one. How would you do that? I don't look crazy. Looks stupid. You can have arms at the side. I'm going to do I'll just do both. Just see what works. Hands on hips is probably the way to go. Yeah, that's got to be because I need to be able to see the design. Yeah. Yeah, that works. Just two separate drawings, you mean? Oh, got you. That looks crazy. That idea is crazy. Hands on the hips works. It's got to have some sort of sword strapped to their back. I promise I'm not that stupid. No, you're good. Thoughts on Ghost of Yotai? I have no thoughts on it. So quiet here. Uh real question is why did it take YouTube so long to notice? I don't know. It always takes them a little while. Um it usually only happens when I stream for uh long time. I like feet. So thank you. Cool, dude. Thanks for volunteering that information, you know. It's cool of you. Uh I prefer Clip Studio for everything. Animation, drawing. I think Clip Studio is the best

and is unmatched. I had to use TV Paint for the last project I was on and that was fine. I just uh it's not my ideal situation. Do you recommend streaming on YouTube? Um I only do it because well I mentioned a couple reasons before like I like the control of making the thumbnail. I think the discoverability is a little bit better in that front. Um I already have the pre-existing YouTube channel though. So that is a little bit of a reason why. Um, so there's that. Do studios make you change software? They Yeah. I mean, if they'll ask you if you can use this particular software, and usually if you're not used to it, you just go, "Yeah. " And then you figured out how to use it. You go, "Yeah, I can use that software. " And then you go, "Okay, I got to figure out how to use that software now. " And that's how it goes. Yeah, I love that software. It's my favorite. I love Toune Boom Harmony. Why though? Because like they've got a whole workflow, man. maybe all their files that they've got pre-existing are in a particular software or like and it just makes the you know transferring files way easier or like there's so many different reasons why It's called being a team player, being a dick and going, "Okay, I'll make it work. I'll make it happen. " Yeah. Like for example, in the last one, all the layout files were in TV Paint. Those have all the audio already loaded into them. they've got, you know, there's so much like material and it would be really annoying to have to then go and reexport all those for Clip Studio format. So, and then when they're compiling all the animation, it's so much more streamlined if it's all in one software. As somebody that directed and had stuff coming in from different softwares, it does make it a lot more challenging uh if it's not the same software. How about open tunes, dude? I don't know. I'm not going to go on like every what every studio is going to use in every specific software. I'm sure there's a studio that uses that. I don't know. People get real autistic about software. It's crazy. So silly to me. I've always been of the mindset it's just like just learn to learn like if you learn to get a good workflow on how to learn the software then you can kind of find just get used to all different softwares. It's not like I don't know. It's just part of the game. When I was learning music when I was younger, you know, I feel like I dabbled in a bunch of different uh dolls, which doesn't make sense to you if you don't know what music software is, but just like [ __ ] around, you know, see what works. Would you use Blender GP? No. I [ __ ] hate Blender. Never using Blender for [ __ ] I don't have a PhD in Blenderology and don't want to get it. Also, the types of shots that I like are pretty um uh are more tame and not as crazy in terms of the camera you the camera movements. So, you know, especially as someone that really likes the directing style of older anime. Um, I like a lot more compositional shots. Did you work on a show that used

Blender? Depends on the show. You know, if it's something I really want to work on, I'll figure it out. But I don't I'm not going to Something I'm producing, use Blender. Like all this the layout drawings and everything are going to be done on paper. So, like I'm kind of going in the opposite direction of that. But if it's like a show I'm not that enthusiastic about and they want me to learn Blender, I'm like, "Eh, no thank you. " I did get an offer for a show that was really [ __ ] cool, but I couldn't do it because I was doing Avatar. Um, it was this French TV show uh about like this like they were sort of action heroes, but they were also in a metal band. I was like, "Oh [ __ ] that's kind of like made for me. I really wish I got to work on that, but I didn't get to. " And they wanted me to design the cast. I was like, "Oh, man. That would have been perfect for me. Alas, can't win them all. Move this head down slightly. Got 3D printed peg bars. That's cool. You only got What's That's really funny. You only got into backgrounds because of my tutorials on it. That's funny is I feel like at this point I've gotten so [ __ ] bad at backgrounds. I need like I got to do some real review on backgrounds. I'm excited to do it for these or like maybe not design backgrounds, but doing the layout drawings. Guy's real bully coded. We like that. That's awesome. I'm buns at choosing color values. Sorry to hear that. Favorite anime? Cowboy BBop. The best one. Yeah, that's a cool looking dude. I like him a whole bunch. It's a cool looking dude. Maybe one of the hands should be uh similar to this where it's like on the blade or something. Nah, looks like [ __ ] Maybe the other one should just be down. I like a little bit of asymmetry. Yeah, you can have like a weapon in that arm or some [ __ ] I like this character a whole bunch. feel like I'm still in disbelief that James Animates. I'm still in those Mecca and perspective days. It's okay. I'm probably a lot older than you. Uh, not that it matters

dude. It's very strange not having the audio in here. Well, one of them is like a practice sword, I was thinking. But yeah, I agree. Having two weapons like this one in his hand would be like a practice like wooden sword and then the other one's actually like a real sword. Cool. No royalty-free death metal. I don't think I want to listen to royalty-free death metal to be honest. I get a whole bunch. Like him a whole bunch. Cool. Love that. Like when it works out. It's called a kendo stick. Uh, wait. That kind of reminds me of the conversation when Shinji's like, "Why do you pilot your Ava? " And we're talking about our reasons for drawing. It's funny how different everybody's like motivations for sketching and whatnot are. Mine's so like focused on um like interpersonal relationships between characters, that kind of thing. opens door. This will be one heck of a trailer. Well, yeah, it's going to be cool. I don't know if this kid's going to make it into the trailer, but he's written into the pilot episode, so I wanted to design him. I was working on the pilot script this morning. That's real fun and real cool. Any favorite project I've worked on so far? The one you're looking at right now, I'd say, is my favorite. It's been the most personal. a project has ever just sort of flowed onto the page. Uh, it's been really exciting. We do hate auto fill. kind of just putting everyone's arms behind their back for the side view so I can see their costumes in case had any wondering or in case you're wondering why I'm making that choice. Am I going to watch the new Avatar series if it's good? should learn flamco style to able to play like Tim Henson. That's not a sentence first of all. Second of all, uh why do you want to play like Tim Henson? Um and just learn what style you want to learn. You don't have to learn just because you want to be uh polifia. That's silly. That's like saying if you want to play metal, you've got to learn classical or something. It's like, you know, I'm sure that will have some influence on your writing style and I think it's good. Um, but you should play what you want to play and what's inspiring to you. Uh I think you know you could have a diverse range of influences but anyway. Yeah. Yeah. They're all coming along here. Let's peruse. I got to do this girl's character design, too. She's cool. Eat the food. Yeah, I will. I flip that around. Boom. It's our boy Harish. Uh, this is in the trailer, not the pilot episode. So, this is what's coming up next. Uh, really excited about that. I can voice maybe a minimum three or four of the cast. You are not voicing a single person. You can do the voicing in your head if you'd like, but it's not going to be on recording. Um, you know, I like when people just go in the chat and they're like, "Oh, I'll just have a job, please. Thank you. " Like, no. Um, trying to get funding for the series. Yeah, that's we're going to try to produce the trailer and basically I'm going to try to get funding using the trailer design book and the script for the pilot. If that doesn't work, um, sorry, Ramboy. It's hard to tell if people are joking or not on stream because I'm just reading a wall of text. Um, and yeah, so like I'd use that and then what the [ __ ] would I do with that? Um, you know, see if we can use the trailer and all that to get some funding on like Kickstart or something and then uh or maybe try to shop it around. So, we'll see. Many different ways to go with it. Kind of like the idea of having full creative control over it, though. Uh, all right everybody, thanks for tuning in. Thanks for hanging out.
