You have seen us attempt this challenge before in different cities around the globe, but every single time we've made one of these episodes, there is one kind of comic we've received over and over. Is it really possible for women to travel and adventure in the same way we do? And well, even though there are already lots of amazing female creators proving that to be true, capturing their perspectives going far and wide, we wanted to put that to its ultimate test in a Yes Theory classic. abandoned with zero dollars for 24 hours in Europe's strictest country, Germany. To attempt this challenge, we summoned one of our favorite creators, Anna Kramling, a chess genius and overall amazing human that we thought might be crazy enough to say yes to this. I'm going to stay in a stranger's house. I'm terrified of this. So, here are the rules of today's adventure. First, we will have a series of challenges involving strangers we can complete to earn some money for food and water. However, at the end of the day, you will have to rely on the kindness of a local by staying at a total stranger's house for the night. Equipped with a cheat coat, however, our sponsor for today's adventure, Brooks Running Shoes, we were ready to tackle the streets of Berlin in the search of some friendly Germans to host us with one big question. Is this a terrible idea we're pulling Anna into? And where might Berlin's wild nightife take us? Here's the thing. Every time we've done anything related to flipping a coin, you've been unlucky. I so hope that you're going to do it now. Germany feels like it's going to be awful. I mean, people consider it the strictest country in Europe. We flip a coin. One of us is going to be abandoned. The other one is going to be game master. I'm ready to sit back on this one. I really want to see you on a good challenge. Q tense music. If it lands on number two, then I do it. If it lands on the head, then you do it. Damn. No, man. This is going to be an entertaining one. Welcome to a Yesterday classic in a way it's never been done before. Anna and Thomas, we are right now in Europe's strictest country. I met someone in Paris the other day. They were Germans and I said, "We're going to Germany. We're going to do this. What do you think about this? " And they answered, "Oh, that will be hard. " Going to jump off this bridge right now. Thomas, come back. I'm going. I'm going. The answers you're looking for within is hiding from the people you're about to meet. Bye-bye, Thomas. This is your first time, but you got this. I'm so scared of it. You're going to prove people in the comments wrong who say that, "Oh, if this was a woman doing this, it wouldn't be possible. " I'm representing the woman. Okay. It's like sending off kids to school here. So, bye. No clue how this is going to go. Hello. How are you? Oh, she did not say hello. Oh, that's a good start. Okay, we are off right now and I'm walking alone in the streets of Berlin with no money, no place to stay, no food. I'm really hoping I meet some kind strangers today. This is the first time we have ever had a woman compete in this challenge. And I think that Anna is the perfect person for this. She is uh not only the best chess player I've ever met in my life, but she's also incredibly charismatic. So, I feel like she is going to have an easy time making friends. We can start a timer for the sunset. This is how much time I have left. And typically, you don't really want to be looking for a place past that time. The hack that we have on this episode is that we're wearing the most comfortable shoes we've ever had. And there's going to be a lot of walking going on. We have the new Brooks Glycerin Flex. And I know this is a sponsored video, but I have to say these are the most comfortable walking and running shoes I've ever worn in my life. I feel like I'm gliding forward while I'm walking with them. It's kind of strange, but for an episode like this where we're going to be walking all day, man, the shoes are important. The real challenge is maintaining good energy because if people feel that you're tired, they are probably much less likely to host you. Oh, wow. Look at this public bathrooms. That's quite cool. I'm already seeing like smiles and stuff. I think people are nice. I just started a challenge, so I'm kind of terrified, but I'm trying to rely on the kindness of strangers. Do you guys want to see it with me? this letter. Okay. Hi. Just made two new friends. Okay. I'm kind of scared to open up this letter. Okay. Challenge list. Oh. Beat a stranger at chess. Chessboard in your back. Sure. Yeah. I'm about to play chess with Bigle. He's my first chess opponent. I'm fearing this. Do you want the beer? Sure. Yeah. Chuck. Yeah. Thank you. Thank you so much. Give
Segment 2 (05:00 - 10:00)
me your best dance video with that. They have two challenges completed. Oh my god. Yeah. He's a dancer. Is he? No. I just €10. You can get pretty far for €10. We can say you should go 1 km in that direction. km. I think you should go 1 km in that direction. Okay. Well, I will go that direction. You guys are the best. Thank you. Bye-bye. I just made my first friends. This is so fun. Like, this has got so much better than I thought it would. I am a little bit afraid of Germans maybe lack of spontaneity. Nothing against you Germans. I know many people from Germany watches us here. But on average, just like sweets, we're not the most spontaneous, you know, but I feel like Berlin is the perfect German city to do this. Okay, this will do. Stafan has put together a list of challenges that we can complete to earn money for our day. Compliment 10 strangers. Oh, that's easy. €5. Everything involves meeting people. We'll see how this goes. I'm going to start with complimenting strangers and then I'm going to look for someone on a run and see if I can join them. That feels like that would get me a coffee and maybe a small sandwich. But I'm feeling good in my glycerin flex. Let's go. How you doing, sir? I love your pants. Yeah, they look amazing. You're looking good today, man. Yeah. Cheers. You guys look amazing. Very fashionable. I'm inspired. Six more. How you doing, man? Love your style. Five people. We're doing good. This is going to be easy. Hello. You have a very cute dog. Come on. Let's do this. We got this. Everything is mind over matter. What's up, man? Oh. I know that my love. Your attention span is great, man. You got it. That's seven. I don't know if he accepted the compliment, but it was a compliment. Love your jacket, man. You guys have some amazing bikes. Have a good day. Yeah. Have a good one. Like the color of your jacket, man. That's 10. That's cool. Excuse me, guys. How you doing? Um, I'm doing a challenge today and I'm supposed to do a public service announcement. I'll just wish you all a lovely day. Have an amazing stroll. Send you guys all the best energy. That's my public announcement. So, you guys are awesome. I can feel the vibes. Just have an amazing day. You Yeah. Cheers, guys. Cheers. Yes. Got it done. Gosh, that feels good. Gosh, that feels good. I have €10. Easy peasy. I'm going to waste it on a really expensive espresso. 3:30. I wonder what it says about me that I ordered a coffee before I bought water. Wow, look at that. Let's go. Priorities right here. I wonder what Anna is doing right now. I wonder if she's completed any challenges already. Are you guys from Berlin? No. Okay. Are you guys from Berlin? I don't know what to say. Oh, okay. Sorry. I know. Also, one of the tips I've gotten is that I should find a place to stay pretty soon because it's going to get harder and harder with time. I need you to also compliment 10 people. I like your jacket. Very cute dog. I love your jackets. Hey guys, where are you from? Are you the Swedish tour that we're doing? Are you here for a street on graffiti tour? Um, is there a street and graffiti tour? Uh, it's a private tour. It's not a public. What are you looking for? What can I help you with? Well, my friends, it's one of these things. A crazy challenge. They've given me no money. Well, they've taken my wallet and I'm basically in Berlin for 24 hours alone and I'm trying to make friends. Are you sure you haven't just been creatively robbed? I think I've been creatively rob I actually saw the guest theory did something really similar to this like a few months ago. Yeah. So, it's very similar to that. Well, the thing is that we're waiting for a uh a tour to start where unfortunately it's like a private tour from Sweden. I am from Sweden. Well, that helps. Maybe you can talk to them in Swedish and they'll let you Who's the group Swedish? I'm Swedish. Yeah. Okay, we're I'm joining the tour. Yay. Thank you. Do you want to say hi? Hello everybody. wisdom. You're supposed to be kind to one another and um take care of uh the creation. That's today's wisdom. That's amazing wisdom. Thank you. This is the best thing ever, honestly.
Segment 3 (10:00 - 15:00)
So, welcome to Berlin. Welcome to the tour. We have also a special guest. What's her name? Sorry. Anna. We were talking our tour here. All this trashy area is one of the coolest in Bali. So, who know what sisterhood means? Treating each other like sisters, being really good friends, and taking care of each other. Exactly. Loving each other, German runners, where are you hiding? Come on. Maybe people are afraid of racing me. That's the problem. I don't know how good this neighborhood is. Feels a little bit rough around the edges. I'm not going to lie. Based on the smells I'm feeling on the streets and based on people on street corners asking if I need any help and not the kind of help that I'm looking for today, unfortunately. Okay, this park, I do not know if I should have come here. What you want, man? Okay, I just wandered into the wrong neighborhood and had a couple of guys that were not doing such legal things come up and yell at me for holding a camera. So, I'm going to go in the other way. I am starting to get pretty hungry. Oh, €20 for a meal. Are you kidding me, man? I can't afford any of this. The world is changing. €6 used to get you far. Now, it doesn't even get you a kebab. Okay, here's another place. Let's see. Is there anything here for €6? Oh, hamburger is €6. 10. I'm going to do that. Thank you. Really thought I would have spotted a runner by now, but have not had any luck on that front, which is Ah, there's a guy running right there. Boom. Let's go. For being abandoned in Berlin, this is pretty great. It is nice to know that complimenting strangers was what got me this burger. Maybe this day ain't so bad after all. How are you? Can I join you for one? Oh, no. Okay. All right. Do you speak English? Uh, no. Not really. Okay. Okay. Thank you. How you doing, man? Can I ask you a question? I'm asking people if to teach me something they wish more people knew. Mindfulness and empathy. Oh wow. Or self-compassion. That's the better phrasing. Did you feel not enough people do that? Yeah. That's beautiful. What was your name? Daniel. Thomas. Nice to meet you. Tonight I have to stay at a stranger's house. But I tr I trust in the kindness of someone crazy enough to do it. Yeah. Please make sure you're safe to safe too doing this. Yeah. Yeah. or if you think I'm 100% sure no one would do it. Not because of you obviously as a person, but in general. Yeah, that's I hear you. Nice to meet you. Good luck. Okay. Well, he was nice. Did not get a yes on staying at his house and he thinks it's going to be extremely difficult, he said. But I believe that gets me 5. Not too bad. But damn, if a guy as friendly as him is not open to hosting a stranger, who is going to be? I have a feeling this could be a little bit more nerve-wracking for Anna. I hope that she's not stressing out too much. I love the dog. We're doing a ticket. Okay. We're going to go in a mini disco. Which song are we doing? Yes. Teenage survive. Wait, this is so cool. cuz I'm just a teenage guy, baby. Rate the disco from 1 to 10. Oh, 100. It was so funny. That was so fun. Feels like there might be a few people running here. Ah, here's a guy running. Excuse me, man. Do you mind if I join you for like 1 kilometer? I'm doing like a challenge. Ah, you can't film it. I don't like Okay, thank you. Cheers. Damn it. He didn't want to be filmed. I'm on 14,000 steps and I feel nothing in my feet. That's pretty wild. Usually when I cross the 10,000 step mark, I feel it right now. Feel nothing. The Glycerin Flex, I have to say, are the most comfortable running and walking shoes I've ever worn in my life. And they have this super interesting thing about them. They're literally completely foldable. It's kind of crazy. The range of motion you get inside your foot is unbelievable. I think that's what makes it so comfortable right off the bat. It's been a massive upgrade to our previous times we've done this because walking all day endlessly not knowing where you're going is the hardest part about these challenges. I feel like I can walk all day right now. Very grateful that Brooks agreed to sponsor this wild adventure. What's up, man?
Segment 4 (15:00 - 20:00)
How you doing? What's up? Pretty good. You got a cool jacket. Thank you. I have a question for you. I'm basically in Berlin relying on the kindness of strangers. Okay. So, I'm looking for a stranger to host me. Yeah. Which is a wild quest. Wild quest. The thing is I'm moving until tomorrow. Like I'm moving houses. Berlin housing markets. Otherwise, I'll be down. I couch surfed uh before and what was your name? Leon. Nice to meet you, man. Good vibes. You have good vibes. Yeah. Cool. Have a good day. Cheers, man. At least I'm getting the asks. He's making coffee and I have €5. I probably shouldn't waste it on another coffee. Let me check how much it cost. How you doing, man? You making that drip coffee or? Yes. Wow. Nice. Where where are you from? Indonesia. The coffee is also from Indonesia. Amazing. Is this your father? Yes. Amazing. How are you? How you doing? I'm fine. Is it okay if I ask your father a question? He seems so friendly and nice. Hi, I'm Thomas. What was your name? Uh, Masi. Masi 83. You're 83? Yeah. Yes. You seem much younger. Did you ask him? I'm 32 years old. What What would be his piece of advice for me at my age? Good question. I never asked him this before. Yeah, he's here in our good. Thank you, Sh. Nice to meet you, Mi. Yeah, it's an honor. Lou and your coffee business is Lo. Thank you, brother. Thank you. See you. I did not expect to befriend an elderly person and ask them for wisdom right now, but looks like I just completed another challenge. So, I have €9. I should probably save money, though. Probably not buy another coffee, right? I have €9 and it's 300 p. m. Realized I left without a coffee. I would love to get a pourover. Woohoo. Lou, thank you. Okay. How much do I owe you? It's okay. I saw me. What? Yeah. Are you sure? Yeah, I'm sure. You're too kind, man. Thank you so much. Thank you. Wow. If anyone comes to Berlin, come get a coffee at Luc. You made my day. Thank you so much, man. Cheers. Wow. Thank you. Good luck with the flat. Ah, thank you. Please go support this man. I just thought I was about to spend half my budget on a coffee. Kindness of strangers. There you go. First sip of this Indonesian coffee. Oh wow, that is really good. Super delicious. Not too bad. Are you enjoying a tour? I am. It's like the most random thing I have ever done in my life to join something like this. I think it's the most random thing that also happened to me as like random. Okay, good. Do you make this? This is so cool. What? I see a runner in the distance. He's coming this way. He's running really fast, though. Chickened out. It's tough. It's tough that one. I don't know. I have no excuse. He looked at me. I looked at him. I hope you don't have a failure tally on this video. It is 3:30. I still do not have a place to sleep tonight. Excuse me. Can anybody host me? I promise I'm not crazy. Sorry, man. I'm doing a bit of a challenge. Can I join you for a kilometer? Yeah, of course. Let's go. Do I need to talk to you? No, you don't need to talk to me. All right. Okay, let's go, man. I've been looking for someone. Why though? Why? That's a good question. I thought you didn't want to talk to me. No, I'm just kidding. As long as you talk, it's fine. Yeah, my friends handed me challenges that if I complete them, I get some small amounts of money. One of the challenges was to join a stranger on a 1 km run, but you're helping me a lot by saying yes to this. So, that's Thomas. That is hilarious. I have these new running shoes. Oh, nice. Oh, they're the exactly Brooks running the glycerin. What's your name, by the way? Vincent. What's your name? Thomas. Thomas. You're amazing, man. Thank you so much for No worries. Think we made it? Yeah. Hell yeah, man. Is there any chance you would host me tonight? Uh, probably not. My girlfriend is not into Ah, your girlfriend. Yeah, I hear you. You saved me anyways here on the run. So, appreciate you. I hope you find something. Thank you. Cheers. Have a good day. Bye. Cheers, brother. Cheers. Wow, that was the smoothest run I've had in a long time. And uh Vincent,
Segment 5 (20:00 - 25:00)
what a legend. That gives me €7. Not bad. I could get some stuff for €7. I'm a bit dedicated to not spending money on water, though. It feels kind of silly. I feel like if Germany has public bathrooms, there should be places to fill up water. going to be my lunch. As Anna's spontaneous tour was coming to an end, she had realized that her tour guide had seemed like a really nice woman that she felt she could trust to host her for the night. But not wanting the guide to feel pressured, Anna decided to keep the camera pointed away as she went in for the ask. I'm going to leave you here. Have a nice day. Enjoy. What are you going to do? I'm going to the train station. Okay. Well, so I need to I hope this and I know it's really really really crazy. You want to be to go to my place? Maybe not now, but I feel pretty safe with you. So if I know it's like super crazy, but I was wondering if there was any chance that you have a spare couch or anything. Like I don't want to disturb you. Well, you look nice. I'm just wondering if he's clever enough to have a stranger in my house. I know. I have never stayed at a stranger's house. Like also dangerous for you. Yeah. So, this is super weird for both of us, but uh you seem like someone that's going to be safe. Uh let me see. Yeah, I will give them my contact. Don't sleep on the street. You are the up. We're going to go and check in Anna now. Hope she's doing good. Okay, so she is literally like down here. She's coming now. Should we surprise her? Should we? Susan, the tour guide. She told me that I could stay at her place tonight, maybe. So, she gave me her contact info. phone number. It looks like I might have a place to stay. I cannot believe how well this day is going. Huh? What is happening? What? Stop. I just want to say hello. Hello, stop. This is the scariest thing ever. I cannot believe it. Things are going great. No, here and I might be staying at her place. It might be figured out. I was given a beer by these by this couple of people. Have you been out drinking beer in Berlin? Yes. Let's go. No, honestly inspiring. So, keep sending it. I have fulfilled my purpose here with you. Thank you, Saf. Thank you. Bye. Bye. She's crushing it. I'm so relieved. But with still many hours left to go. Like the thing is we have had experiences where someone you know says yes but then are like am I going to host a stranger? And they pull back. So hopefully Anna got this. We believe in her. How are you? Yeah. Good. Yeah. What's up? Let's go take a picture. Wow. It would be so easy if I could just ask someone who recognized me. How you doing? Can I ask you guys a question? Yeah. Is this a good area to explore in Berlin? Yeah, he lives here. Okay, nice. And what are you guys doing today? Just vibing. Yeah. Walking around. Going to have a beer. How do you guys know each other? We're playing a band together. No way. Yeah. So, you guys are rock stars, basically. Working on it. Working on it. What's the name of the band? Iguana Death Cults. That is a sick name. I'm in need of liberation. Do you have a couch I could stay on? I'm staying on my couch is sleeping in my bed today. Ah, you're stay Okay, you're good. You're good. I have I'm already hosting today. You're already hosting? Yeah. But you'll find you'll find, man. You think so? Yeah. Especially weekend bars. Yeah. Are you allowed to online? You know, that's a good question. I guess I could look online cuz it's still a stranger. Yeah, I think there's like many websites of like proper couch surfing and people offering Yeah, maybe that's a good idea. Yeah, I see Thomas having a conversation. He's talking to people. Are you guys from Germany? Are you from here? Yes. Do you know any good food place nearby? Down the street. There's a lot of food plates. Thank you so much. Love you guys's outfit and everything. Bye. I love your outfit. I also feel like I've given now a lot of compliments. I think I'm at the 10 compliments. I don't even know how much money I made. I think I made like €20. So, I think we're having a feast. a lot of food now. I want to try a very classic don. What's your most classic? Classic. Yeah, classic dun. Thank you so much. Thank you. This is my very first time trying a donut and I'm doing it in Berlin. This is so good. I'm so hungry. It's my first real meal in like 8 9 hours. Very good. Nice
Segment 6 (25:00 - 30:00)
to meet you guys. Enjoy the beer and good luck on the tour. You want to get a beer or maybe you meet someone? Let me buy you a beer. Oh my god. Really? Let's go. It's like sending your kid to school, you know? He got friends. You worried in the beginning like are you going to get friends or not? But there he walks. This could be a good idea or a bad idea. Is being tipsy this early on before having a place is either great or not great. I just realized we're completing one of the challenges. Get invited to a stranger's plan. Join whatever they're already doing. There you go. There you go. This is perfect, boys. And you guys were going to get a beer anyways, right? You were talking our way. Wow. H this is the place. Oh, okay. Whatever you're having. Could you grab me a glass of water as well if you don't mind? I'll have drank coffee and beer before I drink water today. That's good. I haven't had water. Please drink coffee. Wow. Thank you so much, man. Very kind. Wish me the host. It's really I'm on the couch already. Wow. I am so thirsty. Let's go, boys. Cheers, guys. Cheers. Cheers. How do you say it? Post. Post. And in Swedish skull. Skull. Hell yeah. Come on. Okay, everybody, update. I received a text from Susanna. Susanna said, "See you later. " I think I found a place to stay. I think I found a place to stay. Let's walk some way. I'm not sure which way I should walk. Sorry. Are you from here? Yeah. Yeah. Should I go this way or this way? Okay. Now, now I'm following you. What? I start to do this way. Are you up for like beers or or like I guess yeah. Are you guys going where are you going? I'm bar meeting some friends and stuff. Okay. Yeah. Do you do you want to join us then? Is it is this what you like waiting for? Uh if you would invite me. Yes. This would be my dream. So yeah, of course. Yes. Okay. I am very happy. It's like completely random. But but the group is actually completely random anyways. And this Yeah. It's like a German traditional bar. Okay. Thank you. Hello. Do you want a viewer as well? I will get a beer. Nice to meet you. Nice to meet you guys. See you guys later. And just like that, the challenge continues. I might have to put my sweater back on. It is getting cold. Things are starting to close up. It does feel like people are not out as much as they were before. It's getting cold. does feel like this last hour is my last chance to finding someone. How about hosting a stranger? How about you do something crazy? They did ask me, "Why don't you use the couch surfing app? " We've never done that before. The problem is I don't know if it's cheating or not. Feels less exciting. But you know what also feels less exciting? Being on the street. What's up, man? Hi. What's up? How you doing? Mind if we grab a photo with you? Yeah, of course. Thank you so much. Thank you so much, man. Can't wait to watch the video. Thank you guys. Have a good trip. Man, that guy would have hosted me for sure. What's up, man? How you doing? That guy completely ignored me. Well, this is not how I thought this day would go. Cheers. Do you also say cheers in Swedish or people are so open here? Yeah, I would also say so. Yeah, like I cannot believe I learned to just ask you what way I should go and now I'm here. Like, this is crazy. Yeah, but it's fun. Yeah, it is. I have some bad news, which is that I just felt my few first drops of rain. How you doing, man? Good. I'm in uh Berlin just exploring, meeting people. Met a lot of cool, nice people in the city. What was your name? Em. My challenge for today is to find a stranger to host me tonight. I see. I mean, I would, but I live with my parents. And I see they wouldn't be so happy about that. I see. One of the challenges I have for today is to do a small race with a stranger. Small race. You're going back to the grocery store. Yeah. Oh, it's all right, man. We got it. Come on. All right. Nice. You did it. The shoes. Look at my shoes. I know. I have my new running kicks. Do they make a difference? Yeah. I can feel it. You're a legend. Thank you very much. Nice to meet you, man. I'll give you a hug. I got you. I'll let you know if I find someone. You're the best. See you, man. See you. I think I won that race cuz I got the better shoes. That was amazing. I have now completed the two running challenges for the day. And that's another €6. Feel like I'm rich right now. I have €28. The whole point of these small challenges is to push you to go towards meeting new people. Is to encourage you to do things that are a bit unusual. Truly,

I think if you recount all the people that I've met today, I would never have met them had I not been doing what I'm doing today. So, even if mentally it can be a struggle to think about, man, I don't know where I'm sleeping tonight, it is also a blessing to get to be out in the world, meeting new people, doing all these mad things. It is raining. The time flew by. Sun sets in 10 minutes and I don't have a place to stay. I have hosted a stranger before and his name was Amar. And I ended up starting yesterday with him. He was a stranger when I hosted him. So, I have hosted someone that I didn't really know before and it did lead to a wonderful friendship. However, I don't know how open people are to these things. There's nobody left here. There's a lot of people here just a little while ago. Me, this place was full a while ago. I need to like find shelter somewhere. So, I am getting wet and cold. Well, little recap here. This is starting to feel challenging. I've asked Stefan what he thinks about me downloading the couch surfing app. In the meantime, I've downloaded it and the rain has just like deleted everyone from being outside. Teach me one thing you wish more people knew. Okay. Uh I wish that more people know about the dangers of social media. Um people get influenced by like the short videos, no fact checked um videos like just like headlines, younger people and older people as well. That was that was really good. That was really profound. Okay, wait. I'm going to think about something I wish more people knew. But I feel like after today, I have always been really afraid of going up to strangers. But just the feeling I had now when I was able to go up to you guys and be like, "Where should I go? " and then walk after you and you guys invited me. Like that was such an amazing feeling. Like I feel like more people should not be afraid of speaking to strangers and trying to make friends. I think it's the same for like going out of your comfort zone, right? So just as said like uh you just make friends and uh have a great time. That's amazing. Okay, we got some wise words. Yeah, that's that might deep deep. So, I was I'm hanging out with these two guys and now two girls and another guy joined and they were like, "Do you want to go party? " So, I think we're going to party. So, this is going amazingly. Like, I've met so many people today and they're so nice and it feels like I've known them forever. It's so cool. Okay, the team is voting against couch surfing. So, I'm going to have to find someone outside. This blows. There's like nobody left now. It's a ghost town. It's pretty crazy. Well, I'm going to start with getting a kebab. I have €27, I think. So, that should be plenty of money for a kebab. How you doing, sir? Hey, what are you filming there? Uh, just exploring Berlin. Filming yourself, so to say. Yeah. What about you? What are you up to? I just finished sports. Hell yeah, man. Hey, good man. And what are you What is your plan now? Actually, there's no yet evening plans. No evening plans. Okay, cool. Nice. You don't mind the rain? You're just sitting here. It's just a little bit. Come on. Yeah, that's true. That's true. It's not so bad. You're committed to sitting outside on a Saturday afternoon. Enjoy the moment. Yeah, I agree. Before it's too dark. Yeah, I agree. Yeah. I'm just basically I'm doing a video where I'm relying on the kindness of strangers here in Berlin. Yeah. So, I've just been meeting people. Mhm. And uh I'm looking for a stranger to host me tonight, which is a crazy ask, but that's what I'm doing. So going around, I could I could horse you, but you need to have your own mattress, so to say. So Okay. Yeah, because u I rented out my place and I'm crushing at uh friend of mine's empty apartment, so to say. So Oh, no way. Okay. So you just have a mattress and then you just have mattress. Okay. I have a shelter. I have a roof. Exactly. Yeah. Okay. Cool. What was your name? Chris. I'm Thomas. Nice to meet you. Yeah. Can I give you my number and then can let me know. Nice. You're a spontaneous person it seems. H I've been traveling more than enough. So where have you traveled since age of 20 so to say? I left for Sydney and then Asia here and then Amsterdam another three or four years. 4 years. Wow. You've been all over the world. So we've got a deal. Amazing. Chris, you're a freaking legend. What made you so open in life? You seem like a very open person. When you been on the road, you see all different. Yeah. You just put yourself in the different shoes and uh you rely on generosity of the humanity sometimes. That's a beautiful message. 99%

of time it works. Yeah. Amazing. See you 8:30 there. 8:30. Beautiful. Freaking legendary, man. Let's go. Yeah. I was starting to lose hope with the the sun setting. Yeah. Never losing hope. Shoot me a text then if there's any issues. No, no problem. Yes. I was about to give up. So, here's the thing. Chris is renting out his apartment. He said he's got a lovely apartment and he would have hosted me for sure, but now he's staying at a friend's empty apartment. Like, the idea of basically going to sleep on the floor, not only a stranger's house, a stranger's friend's house feels like a bit of a stretch, but at the same time, he did seem very genuine. So, for that reason, I trust him. I hope that Anna has found somewhere to stay. I am experienced. I've done this in seven places and I'm still struggling. If it's like done working out, you can text me. I now have two places I can stay at. I can either stay with Susana, my initial option, or I can stay at his place. He's the football coach of this whole team. Hi. Uh, challenge a stranger to 100 meter race. Ah, I thought 1 kilometer. Yeah, we're going to do it. Oh my god, this is going to be so cool. Me and Janice, we're doing it. 100 meter race. He's a professional football player, so he might destroy me, but I don't care. I'm going to win. I try my best. Three, two, one, go. Congrats. Thank you. She's a real winner. I don't know what to say. Maybe it was the shoes. It might have been the shoes. We got more friends here now. Okay, Anna, nice to meet you. I'm doing a challenge with some other people. It's like surviving alone. No money, no food. So, I've seen stuff like this from Yes. Fury. You know that? Yeah. Yeah, I do. Yeah. How are you? That's the best one. I'll do this. That is delicious. Okay. Chris just texted me. He said, "Let's make it earlier. Just head straight to my place. Just had an evening plans idea. " Dot dot dot in Berlin. God knows where that could take us. I feel a little bit nervous because I feel that Chris is wilder than I am. Chris works at a nightclub called For those people who know what is, you know, it's a pretty wild place and to work there means you're probably a wild person. Am I embarking on a freaking insane excursion tonight that I'm not really ready for. It's just pitched me that we should go to a very cool sauna tonight. That sounds suspicious and sketchy. I met a guy drinking a beer on a bench who's inviting me to a very special sauna. Should I go with him right now? It is 8:00 p. m. It is cold and raining outside. I have nowhere else to go. Feel like I'm struggling like this. Anna's probably struggling as well. Cheers, guys. Cheers. We're getting some food. I really want to get a curry word cuz I've never had it before. Vamos, I have to say that I was really scared of walking in the dark alone. It feels amazing to have like six people around me. I'm going to do more solo traveling. I want to go like everywhere. I'm so excited to be in Germany and have a curry. Look at this. We got some amazing curry. Welcome. Oh, go inside. Cheers. You like German beer? I mean, it's weird. Okay. Sorry. I've been spending the last hour and a half assessing this situation. Chris does seem like a legend, an old school backpacker who's been all around the world and understands the struggle of looking for a place to stay. He also seemed like a bit of a wild man. The second text he ever sent me was, "Should we go sauna? " Now, if you're watching this, you probably shouldn't do that. Somebody texts you that. However, I asked some friends from Berlin, "What kind of sauna are we like could I expect here? " And they texted me one sauna, and they were like, "This is the one sauna that is like super local, but it's not anything weird. It's just a sauna. " They sent me that link and said, "If this is the sauna, then it's okay. " And then he texted me like 4 seconds later and said, "This is the sauna. " And it was the same one. So, that was a good sign, as you might imagine. This is the direction that I'm currently walking. I'm walking towards the sauna right now. It is really cold. So, a sauna actually sounds amazing. Okay, this down like this dark alleyway that it's just like dark here. Is there a sauna place down here? It feels crazy. This is my final video. It's been a good ride, guys. Oh, okay. I think it's in here.
Segment 9 (40:00 - 45:00)
Is this place even open right now? Like nobody here. Oh, I think this is it. I just don't don't know. Like, do I just go inside? Like, what am I doing? What am I doing? This is insane. The level of trust in a stranger this is taking right now is outside of my comfort zone. And see, discomfort is like my thing, you know? That's like what I do. Maybe I just go in, but I just don't want to go in and film when I'm not supposed to. I'll see you on the other side. Hello. Is this the sauna place? Okay. I was trying to figure out how to get in. Yeah. Thank you. Surviving here. Can I say bye? I'm going to leave. So nice meeting you. Thank you for today. Take care. Stay safe. I have been now in this bar for several hours. The whole evening has passed by so quickly, but I'm so happy because Susanna texted me back and she said that I could stay at her place. So, I'm going to use my last like €8 on a taxi to her place. I feel so weird going to a stranger's place, but it's happening and I'm so happy I get to stay at a girl's place. It's been so much fun. I've had like such an incredible day and the day is not over. We're still going to Susanna's place. I got it. I got it here. This is going to be my bed for the night. Susanna is the best. Laughing at this experience. Chris, you did not disappoint. That was wild but also amazing. Nothing captured but only good memories. It's the most important part. Nice. Got a little 30inut line pass. This is turning out way better than I thought. That sauna experience was incredible. There was not a whole lot of clothing inside, but it was still great. It was still fun. Now we are biking was Chris's friend's place that he's crashing at. Chris is actually super friendly. He's actually one of those just old school backpackers who's just hitchhiked his way through so many different countries and got so many good stories. This is turning out to be a really great evening and I got to experience a side of Berlin that I would have never found otherwise. So, I guess I'm grateful to be doing this 11 years in. Such a nice evening. Thank you, Chris. Well, I was already thinking like, shall I push the limits and say go to the little devil on my shoulder was already like, okay. Wow. Hell yeah. This is perfect. This is the moon we picked up at the house. Exactly. I got my sleeping bag here. He has a sleeping mattress there. This is quite lovely. Perfect. Okay. Good night. Good morning. Good morning. I slept good after sauna. The sleep is just incredible. Yeah. Great success. Crazy. This is such a big area. West Berlin's I guess abandoned airport. If he's abandoned, it looks pretty abandoned. The purpose of doing any challenges like this is not to torture ourselves unnecessarily, but because sparks of new friendships await around every corner. Yeah, see one of the last wild ones. It is strange sometimes to think that it is more normal to walk past strangers without ever talking to them than it is to actually say hello. And these abandoned in challenges we've been doing now for almost 10 years around the world always prove this to us. A day that starts in great uncertainty has every single time, no matter where we are, ended in a new connection that would likely never have happened otherwise. Here we are where it started. Let's go. You're alive. You did it. I survived. You survived, too. And Anna proved that with wits, following your intuition, and keeping up good energy, this store exists. of course done mindfully for everyone that's flood her with love as a community for embracing this challenge not only with courage but with a full openness of a yes theory adventure in a world that

tries to scare us of one another experiences like this remind us truly of how many amazing humans there are out there in the world and as our yes theory saying goes a stranger is just a friend you haven't met yet thank you once again for the amazing team from Brooks Running from trusting us and enabling this experience their new line of running shoes are truly the best running and walking shoes we have ever used. If you are out there seeking adventure like we are, the glycerin flex and Max 2 await you. But can we say that Germans are nice, very nice, very friendly, very open. Wild ones, but good, good, good. Thomas, what did you experience?
