John Deere 6030, 4020 and 4850 Tractors Sold Very Strong on Recent Auctions in Illinois and Indiana

Well, if you're looking for a good used tractor these days, you may have to go back a little further to find a deal. But, even the vintage variety can be pricey. Machine Repeat explains. All right, folks. Let's do a little catch-up work here and check in on some recent auction sale prices on vintage John Deere tractors that opened some eyes across the country. Last Tuesday, our friends at DPA Auctions sold this beautiful tractor, an 1877 John Deere 6030 came from Delavan, Illinois. Had the original tach was showing 3563 hours. This baby sold for $55,750. Now, that's the 10th highest auction price ever on a John Deere 6030. But, actually, it's only the second highest of this year. Cuz we got to go back to January 31st, 2026 consignment auction in Paris, Missouri by our good friends at Wheeler Auctions and Real Estate. They sold this 1973 John Deere 6030. This thing only was showing 2047 hours on it. Went for 57,500 bucks. That's tied for the sixth highest auction price ever. Now, if we back up a couple weeks to April 11th, uh it was a collector auction by our friends at Kraft Auction Service in Valparaiso, Indiana. And a 4020, is your favorite tractor? Well, I'm guessing you heard about this one. A 1972 model diesel powershift. Over $50,000 spent on the restoration on it. You can see how beautiful it looks. This baby sold for $74,900. Now, folks, I've been compiling auction prices for 36 and 1/2 years. I've got I've compiled over 5500 prices on John Deere 4020s. 749, that's the second highest auction price I've ever seen on a 4020. And if we back up to into the end of March, March 31st, Rantoul, Illinois farm auction by Polk Auction, uh this 50 series tractor, an 86 John Deere 4850 mechanical front, $4100, one owner, new tires, oil changed every 100 hours. So, obviously, some good old-fashioned OCD going on there. Great care. Always shed it. Sold for $80,500. And yes, that's the all-time record auction price I've ever seen on a John Deere 4850. And not by a little bit, by $15,500.
