Segment 1 (00:00 - 05:00)

Good morning everyone. Welcome to this Trade Station webinar. This is a getting started series. So, we're going to talk about uh the Trade Station trading platforms and how to get started from the very basics up until some more advanced functionality like placing trades, modifying your orders, and so forth. So, we have our hands pretty much full for this session where we're highlighting the mobile app, the getting started series. It's a weekly session that we do every Wednesday at 10:00 a. m. Eastern time and we alternate Trade Station trading platform so that you can get a little bit of information on each one. Trade Station provides different ways in which you can access your Trade Station account. You can do it from the mobile device. your desktop. You can do it from a web browser. We have other platforms that allow you to trade futures options and a very robust and sophisticated options analysis platform as well. But as I said at the very beginning, today is all about the mobile app. For those that are joining us for the first time, my name is Jesus Nava. I am the director of education here at Trade Station. Always a pleasure to be here. Let's go ahead and go through some disclosures before we get started. Just keep in mind that every symbol and idea that we talk about is for educational purposes only. These are not recommendations of Trade Station. Also, that active trading is not suitable for everyone. And if anybody needs additional details on these disclosures, please go to tradstation. com/important- and you'll find all the disclosure information there. Right, let me go ahead and escape out of this. close this PowerPoint because I am going to focus on my mobile app. By the way, if you guys are looking for education on other trading platforms, every session we do on the getting started series is recorded, so you're always able to watch it later if you want to review the content or pause it and play it at the speed that allows you to practice the functionality. Let me show you where the archives are and that way you can find them easier. So this is tradstation. com and from here you would go here to the learn menu and we have getting started down here. Getting started. The getting started page is designed for somebody that probably does not have a trade station account. That's why step one says open your account and transfer funds. You have probably done that already. But step two is picking your trading platform. So this is where you start learning about all the platforms that trade station provides. What are the similarities, the differences, pros and cons of using one over the other and so forth. So step three is learn the platform. And then we have this banner right here that is the getting started sessions. And then when you click on watch archive, we have all the different sessions we record. There's a total of six. Right now, we're going to do this one, which is the mobile app, but we do sessions on the desktop, on Option Station Pro, on Titan X, on Futures Plus, and also on the Trade Station hub. All right. Also, if you have any questions, uh, please make sure that you use the chat window right there in the Zoom platform. I am going to be looking at the chat window once in a while to make sure that I'm addressing questions live and making sure that all your questions are answered. Let me switch over to my mobile app. I'm already logged in. By the way, your Trade Station username and password allows you to trade uh and log to any of our trading platforms. When you first log in, we designed the mobile app to show you a view of your account. What is it that you're holding? So, what you see here, this list of securities that I have here in view are all my open positions. This is a simulated account, by the way. I don't think I can tell from this view. by the total cost here of my positions, almost a million dollars. I know for a fact that I don't have a Trade Station account with $1 million. But even more, if you go to the balances tab and you tap on balances, this will give you a general overview of all your accounts in an aggregated mode. So you can see that all my simulated accounts total about $6. 3 million. And then down below I see a breakdown on how that is. Equities I have three equities accounts. And if you look down below I have three futures accounts all sim. They all start with the letters sim. And one of the nice things about the mobile app is that you can connect to a simulated environment so that you can explore and test the functionality before you actually do things in your real account. I skipped a

Segment 2 (05:00 - 10:00)

tab which is the orders tab. If I have any open orders, it'll show up here. I see a an order for Tesla and I see an order for Johnson and Johnson. Both have what's called an OSO or set up as an OSO. You can see that it says that in square brackets and that's an order sent order. So I have my entry attached with an a bracket. For example, for Tesla, I have my buy at 408 with a target and stop. Target is at 416 and the stop is at 403. For my Johnson and Johnson, it appears that I did get filled. Notice how the status is filled. And I still have two active orders for the profit, target, and the loss. So, all that information is right here from the orders view. So, yes, when you first log on to the mobile app, it's all about the account. What are your holdings? What are your open orders? And what are your balances? If you wanted to switch to a simulated environment and you're connected to your live, that's very easily done. If you come over here to the more section of the mobile app and at the top, you see a toggle where you can switch from SIM to live. Very easy. No need to shut down the platform. No need to relog in. It's just a simple switch over here. Just be aware of the environment that you're connected to. We just want to make sure that you place the trades that you want on the environment that you intended to trade. So if an error is made, unfortunately there's nothing we can do because that's the environment you pick. So make sure that you are aware that you are either in SIM or live. Right here on the top it says connected to SIM. Since I'm here, I just want to point out that the more menu gives you all sorts of different functionality. At the top we have transfer funds. So you can switch or transfer funds between your personal financial institution account or your trade station account. Sometimes you may have an individual account and a joint account and you want to transfer funds between them. That's something you can do using that menu. You also have the ability to set price alerts. You can go into your settings to change the way that your mobile app looks. I believe there's a way for you to switch it to a light mode if you like your screens to be light instead of dark. You can also look at support and access our support numbers and so forth. If you go here to hub, we have links that will take you directly to hub. That makes it easy for you to update your account, your contact information, your password, if you want to manage your data subscriptions. It's all done in hub. And if you tap from here, it will just open up a browser because hub is a browserbased platform. We do a class on hub. If you're interested in learning about the Trade Station Hub, please join us for that class. I think we have it posted on the events calendar. And that's it. That's on the more menu. So, let's go back here to we already went over the homepage. And the homepage is that Trade Station logo that you see at the very bottom. Once you're in the home, you have access to those three tab, positions, orders, and balances. You can switch by just tapping on each one of those tabs. You also have the ability to create watch lists. I go there a lot as well. Sometimes your watch list is going to be set to your positions watch list. So there's one that's already built itself up based on what open positions you have. These are all the open positions I have in my simulated accounts and I can check all of them in this list. If I wanted to check react to any of these trades, I just have to tap on the symbol. Oh, by the way, you can see Apple shows up here twice. is probably because I have Apple on two separate simulated accounts. But if I tap on Apple from here, it'll send me to a detail view. Anytime that you tap on a particular symbol inside the mobile app, this is what you get. It's the detail view. It doesn't necessarily always send you to the same view for the symbol. For example, I see Apple right here on the top. But notice that somewhere in three a quarter down from the top of the screen, you'll see five different tabs. So, at any given moment, you can be in any of those tabs, either looking at a chart, at options, at the matrix, at news, or just a general overview. Just be aware of that. Tapping on a symbol will send you to the symbol detail, but the tab or the view that you're going to be looking at is the one that you probably looked at the last time you were looking at the symbol details. I was looking at the overview tab for one of the symbols because I saw some dividends come in for I believe it was Home Depot or Johnson and I was trying to look at what date that happened. So that's why it went back to the overview tab. But notice that I can tap on any of these tabs to go into chart. That's a fullblown chart that we have here in the mobile app. I can tap on

Segment 3 (10:00 - 15:00)

news if I want to see news on Apple. I can tap on options if I want to trade some calls or puts on Apple or maybe some spreads. Who knows? Or I can just tap on matrix if I want to trade using a ladder type of order entry tool where I see market depth and I see orders sitting on the buy and the sell side of the market. Okay. So always be aware of that. And if you have this we have this back button on the top left corner that allows you to go back to the watch list that you were on. Now, I did say that this one, my positions watch list, is automatically generated based on your open positions. But if I go to that dropdown, then I have others. Right now, I'm not really sure which ones are the default. I think DAO 30 is one that comes already created in your list. But the fact that you have a plus and a little pencil here on the right allows you to modify the ones that are existing and also create new ones. Let me go here and tap on my quotes, which is one of the lists that I've created. My quotes. Now, you can see that my quotes shows up here at the top. I can use my finger to cycle through all the symbols, and I can remove or add any symbols on this list. I can see that Apple is not added here. So, let me go ahead and add it. I'm just going to tap on the plus, type in a AAPL. As you type in, we have a smart search that searches for anything that matches what you're typing. So I type in AA and the very top symbol is ALCOA, which is AA. The second one is American Airlines. And the third one is AAPL. So you'll see everything that matches those two letters. Of course, you can type the full symbol. So if I add another P, you notice that it filters down. Now I see AAP at the very top and Apple is second. But you can just tap on the symbol. You'll see a little check mark here on the right hand side because it also allows you to do a multiple selection. So if I wanted to maybe remove and then go to another symbol. Let's do QQQ and I also tap it. Notice that it's checked. Now if I click on done, notice that it adds Apple at the very top. But if I scroll down, it also added QQQ right here below. Does that make sense? So without going away from the modify screen, you can select multiple symbols and they'll be added to your screen. So this is your watch list. There's two ways in which you can see this. I'm going to tap on this little ellipses on the top right. You also have a grid view. What you're looking at right now is just a list view that gives you a very clear view of what the company is by giving you the logo on the left hand side, the name of the corporation, and on the right you see the last traded price, the net change, and the percent change. But if you want to see more, you can always switch to the grid view, which gives you more of a table. A lot of people like this view better which has multiple columns that allow you to just drill down onto that particular security and look at other data. When you do that, you have a little cog wheel over here on the top right which allows you to turn on and turn off certain columns. If you think there's too many, you can disable them if you want. Okay. I prefer the list view myself. It's just a very summarized view of what I I'm watching and it's just cleaner in my opinion. You may think differently and that's okay. That's why the mobile app provides you different ways of looking at market data so that you can choose whatever it's comfortable for you. As I said at the I said a while back, if you tap on any symbol, it'll go to symbol detail. So, let's say that we're interested in Delta Airlines and you tap on it. Notice that it goes back to symbol detail. But guess what? We were looking at the matrix last and this is where it sent us. Now going back to Yeah, you're going to go to the simple detail, but just be aware that there's five different tabs that you can be on. So if I want to see an overview of Delta Airlines, I just tap on overview. I see a small chart here and this is the price activity for one day. If I want to see the three-month activity, I just tap on that 3M and this is where the price has been for the past 3 months. I can push this up and say why is it moving? A lot of information about the stock and the appreciation of what the stock may be doing is information that comes from benzinga. So I think if you tap on this question mark I think it will say that yeah this is provided by benzinga and is indicative of the reason that the relevant security is potentially moving in any direction. These are updated on a rolling basis by benzinga. So, it's not a recommendation that Trade Station is making. Remember a self-directed broker and we don't make any recommendations, but this information is interesting about any security. And I just want to make sure that everybody's

Segment 4 (15:00 - 20:00)

aware that it comes from Benzinga. But we have information about why is it moving, uh, earnings calendar, some descriptive information about Delta Airlines. That's all inside the overview. If this is a stock that is new for you, you can drill down and see what it's all about. I can pull up a chart. I can use my fingers to expand the view. I can change the time frame right here at the bottom. I'm looking at a five minute right now. But if I want to switch this to a daily chart, I just tap on the D. And this is the daily chart of Delta Airlines. I can see the current trading price at 79. 25. And I have a big trade button right there at the bottom. I know it's difficult to do market analysis from your phone. But if you'd like to look at a specific technical calculation, let's say that we want to see what the 100 period moving average is right now. We can tap on this cog wheel that you see on top of the chart. Go to add studies. I'm going to look for moving average one line. In fact, if you want to make that exponential, I believe they're somewhere below. So let's do an exponential instead. So we have studies that go below the chart. Where it says lower studies, that just means that anything that is below lower studies is a study that goes in a subgraph under the chart. The exponential moving average, it's goes on top of the candle. So it should be on the top section of this list and it's right here. Moving average exponential. I'm just going to tap it. It goes right on the screen. It didn't ask me to provide a parameter, but I'm going to tap on the name of the indicator right here on the top left. And then change the parameter or the length. I'm going to change it to 100. The color is red. That's fine. Show study. I'm good with everything else. I'm going to tap on done. And there it is. Now I see the chart and I see the value of the 100 period moving average, which is 6967. You can do the same thing with any technical indicator that you want to add. In fact, if I wanted to trade Delta Airlines, let's do that. I'm going to trade it. I know that right now it's trading at 7906. Let's say that we are interested in buying Delta Airlines, but only if it goes down to 78. So, if I wanted to draw a line at 78 here, I can also go back here to actually I don't have to go back to the cog wheel. I click on this little drawing icon. I see a line in there. So, I'm going to tap on the horizontal line. And then I'm just going to use my finger to bring that line down. Let's see if I can bring it down by tapping it. There it is. And I just leave it there at 80. Oh, that's not the price that I want. I said I wanted 78. Let's see if I want to move it again. So, 78. Can't quite drop it at 78. Sometimes that happens. It may require me to open up the chart a little bit more and then bring the line closer. Everything is harder on a small screen. My fingers are not cooperating with me. But you can see the issue sometimes that you may encounter by trying to draw something on the chart or use something that All right, I'm just going to leave it there. I think the closest I can get it to is 77. 99. That's okay. If I go into the Let's see cog wheel of that. Okay, I could have just typed it in. All right, so I if I wanted 78, I can just go into the settings of the horizontal line and then type it in myself. So I drew a line so I can get a visual of where my entry price was going to be. Now I can tap on the trade button down here or I can trade directly from the chart. Whichever one is fine. Notice that if I if you tap on the background of the chart, let me go ahead and disable my drawing tools. Yeah, if you tap anywhere on the background, you get this data tips window with another trade button. So, multiple ways in which you can trade it, which is okay. This tapping on the trade button here at 7466 will take you to the order ticket. Same thing happens if you tap on trade right there at the bottom. So, doesn't really matter. One of the nice things about this new order ticket is that it is different levels. Let me explain what that means. Right now, this is the first view of the order ticket. It says buy 100,000 shares at 7907 limit. So, the first thing that it does is that it pretty much provides you a buy order at the current price, which is not what I want. So, if that's not what you want, if you don't want to join the best bid at the moment, just use your finger and lift it up a little bit and notice that it gives you a little bit more information. So, the order ticket goes from this summary at the bottom, which is okay for a lot of traders. They want the trade or join the current market. But if you want to modify the order a little bit, then just lift the trade ticket and it just expands to half the size of the screen where I can maybe modify the limit price if I want to. And

Segment 5 (20:00 - 25:00)

here I want to say I want to enter at 78 and then tap on done. But that's not all that I want because I at the same time I want to probably set my profit target and my stop loss. So if you need the full view of the trade ticket just again with your finger lift it up a little bit more. And now we get the full order ticket. Now I can set my entry price at 78. This is a limit order. You can change the order type if you want to. We have all the order types in there. But what I'm looking for are these two check boxes. The take profit and I'm going to take the profit and I probably going to say take profit at 82. And then I'm also going to do a stop-loss order. And I'm going to do the stop-loss at 77. Then I tap on that blue button, review by order. And there we go. We see the details. We were going to buy 100 delta at 78. We're going to sell it at 77 as a stop. And then we're going to sell it at 82 as a limit. Let's go ahead and send the orders. And I'm going to tap on okay. And there it is. Look at the chart. Now the chart is a way for me to look at where the orders are. I got my limit. I got my stop. Let me go ahead and expand my view a little bit more. So you can see the order. You can see how the blue line falls right on that horizontal line that I drew. If I want to remove the horizontal line, just tap on it. Oh, let me see if I can tap on the horizontal line. Let me squeeze the chart a little bit more. Oh, I need to turn on drawing tools. If you want to edit the drawing tool, just make sure that you turn on the drawing tool. And now you can tap on the horizontal line, go to the cog wheel, and delete it. So, just remember that. Right now, I was trying to tap on the horizontal line and it wasn't doing it for me because I wasn't in drawing mode. So, let me go ahead and get out of drawing mode now. Expand the view. And now I can see my three different orders. my entry at 78 and I see my target at 82 and then my stop at 77. So if I go back here, let me go back into my main list of symbols. I can also go to the home menu, which is that trade station button at the bottom, and I can go here to my orders. And now I see my delta order in there as well. Now I believe that see what this button does. There we go. So this is the list view. This is the more modern view of order entry. I was looking at the grid view which gives you the table and you can go through the different columns. But here it gives you a very summarized view of what your orders look like. We have our Johnson and Johnson, we have our Tesla and now we have our newly entered trade for Delta Airlines. So from here I can tap on that main order and let's say that we are tired of waiting. So instead of entering at 78, we want to change this to let's do a market order. So right here, instead of limit, I want a market. And I'm going to replace the order by tapping on that blue button below. And then just tap on okay. There we go. So now I should be filled. You can see that on my order list, my order at the top says filled, but I have my target and I have my stop. Now, of course, those can be adjusted. If I go back to Delta, let me go back to my watch list and then go back to Delta and now look at my chart. From the chart, you can see where the orders are in relationship to your entry. You can see my entry right there at 7904. Now, my riskreward ratio of course changed because my entry was not at 78 anymore. So, if I want to have my target, my stop a little bit closer, I can drag it from here. I can say click on that red flag and I'm going to raise it to maybe 78. Let me try that one more time. 78. Of course, as soon as you release it, it's going to pull up the trade ticket summary. Remember that you have those three stages where you have the summary, but you can use your finger to lift it up. If you don't need to lift it up, that's fine. Right now, I see the order the way that I want it. Sell $100 shares at 78 stock market. So, if I wanted to just look at the summary and modify it, I could just say replace the order from there and I'm done. But if I do want to modify it, just remember that with a finger, you can lift it up a little bit just to see a little bit more detail or all the way just to see the full trade ticket. And [clears throat] you can always push it down again if you want to see what's laying behind. I'm going to say replace the order, send the order, and then click okay. And now my stop should be a little bit closer to where my entry was. Right now it's still showing at 77. Oh, there we go. It just shifted to 78. So it took a little bit of time, but you have all the functionality there. So yes, from what we've seen already, you have all features and functionality right here in the palm of your hand. How would I use this? I would use the phone as a complement to whatever other desktop

Segment 6 (25:00 - 30:00)

application I'm using. Whether that's the fullblown desktop or Titan X, those are the main two trading platforms. If you're using any of those, great. But then use your mobile device as a way to check your account. Always have an eye of what's happening. If you're on the road grocery shopping or traveling or going or being somewhere and you want to see what your account is doing, log into your phone, you can make modifications to any trade and you can do that from the device, which is pretty interesting. Let's suppose that we're going to do on something else. Let me go and show you another example. Let me go back here. Let's take a look at Apple. I'm going to tap on Apple. Apple pretty expensive stock at $314. If I were to buy the standard lot of 100 shares and that would be an investment of over $30,000 just to get 100 shares of Apple. Of course, you can trade options if you want to use your capital differently. You maybe allocate some capital to options and still benefit from some potential movement in the underlying in Apple. So, we can go here into options menu and do all sorts of option spreads. Right now you can see the spread selector is set to iron condors. You can go to that dropown and select a different strategy. If you're looking for a vertical or a butterfly or a calendar, anything that you want to select, the option chain will automatically organize and show you those pairings. Or you can just choose custom for you to automatically select the legs that your spread will have. Right now, you can see the I'm looking at the June 3rd expiration. That's today. And the W just means that those are weekly. The zero D just means that there's zero days until expiration. And you can give yourself more time by just with your finger just cycling through the different expirations. Notice that here's one with the M. That's the monthly expiration. I'm going to tap it and it'll load those options for me. So, I see the bid and ask for the calls and the puts. Let's say that I want to buy this 310 call which is in the money. I can see that it's in the money because it's above that yellow line. The yellow line is going to be your at the money option. So that's that divider that shows you at the money and then you have in the money for the calls and puts. Okay, there's an error. Let's try that one more time. Let me tap on that call. That's retrieving the information and it puts it right there in the order ticket for me to get ready to trade. Now, if I want to combine that with another selling transaction because that in itself, it's going to cost me about $940, right? So, we multiplied 100 by the price 940. If you want to receive some credit, we can probably trade or sell a call with it. So, we buy a call and sell a call into a spread for cost to improve our cost basis. So, I can do that. I just tap on the bid side and you can see that it clearly marks those calls with the right color showing you which one's short and which one's long in this case. This is interesting because if we do let me tap on that on the opposite side again because this is a buy but it's showing red and a lot of times you have to get used to the color because I would have expected for that to be blue but that's red. That's a long call. Now, if we click on the bid, then we're getting into a vertical. You can see that recognizes that as a call vertical because you're buying a call and selling a call. And notice your pricing, your pricing is not $9 anymore. It's $2 because you're getting money back from a selling transaction. I'm going to review that order. That's my spread. Let me go ahead and open up the order ticket so I can see more information. In the order ticket, you can see the two legs at the top, but you also see riskreward profile for any option spread you want to trade. So, my maximum profit for this trade is 237. My maximum loss is 263. I can adjust my trade if I want to. Let's say that instead of selling the 315, I want to sell a different call. I can tap there and say I want to sell maybe the 320 instead. With the 320, I can look at the riskreward profile. Now, you can see that maximum profit is 515, maximum loss at 485. Maybe that's a trade that I'm comfortable with. I can adjust the [clears throat] expirations or the strikes with all these buttons that are here. So, there's a lot of things you can do to make trade happen for you. You can see where the current price is in relationship to the bid and ask. So, if I want it to be more in the mid, I can lower it until it's actually on the mid or I can just use the natural bid and ask and try to get filled at whatever price is the natural pricing. Let me review the order and then send it. There we go. Now, we traded a vertical spread right here from within the mobile

Segment 7 (30:00 - 32:00)

device. Some people may think that's complicated because the screen is too small, but it's all getting it's all a matter of getting used to it. And I think it's very convenient because you can be anywhere in the world. Doesn't matter where you are. If you have if you carry a phone and you have data on that phone, internet connection, you're able to access your account and place trades, manage your account, manage your positions, and keep an eye on everything that's happening. Guys, yeah, I'm not going to overwhelm you with more information, but the mobile app is an intuitive application that's there for you to use. Please make sure that you install it on your phone, take it for a test drive, and see how it can benefit your trade station uh collection of platforms. As I said before, sometimes it's just a matter of using them as a complement of each other, not as a replacement. And we of course allow you to do that by allowing you to log into any of these. So make sure that you use it, explore, and see if you like it. If anybody has any questions, please you can send them to the chat. If you'd like to send me a question separately, you're also welcome to do. I am going to share our team's email address right there in the chat so that you can save it. We can help you finding any type of education or any questions you have on the platform. We're there to help you out. Okay, we also have a dedicated team that can answer your questions on the spot. You can give them a call if that's the case as well because when you send emails to education at trade station, it may take us a couple or a few days to reply and we appreciate your patience on that. But if you want an immediate response, we have a dedicated team support team that is there for you to use at any time. Thank you for your being here in this class. And please take a look at all the topics and events that are upcoming in the events page. We have all sorts of different classes. So, make sure that you explore. And then again, if any questions, just reach out to us. Have a wonderful day and I'll see you next time. Goodbye, everyone.
