which is better scrum or conbine this is one of the most frequently asked questions I get well this isn't exactly an Apple's to app's comparison determining which is better requires measurement evidence-based management or ebm is a framework from scrum. org that is agnostic to methods or Frameworks for measuring your organization's Effectiveness in delivering value to customers it includes four key value areas each with its own key value measures now scrum. org provides some examp of key value measures in the ebm guide go check that out if you haven't already however most key value measures need to be tailored to align with your own specific business context metrics under the time to market area gives insights into your organization speed of delivery from concept to cash if these metrics are not good enough to reach your goals analyzing the metrics under the ability to innovate area will unpack the organizational impediments for example your time to Market might be slow due to teams working on multiple Pro simultaneously or might be because teams interrupted with non-value added activities dealing with system defects when metric in the ability to innovate area improve Beyond a satisfactory level the metrics in the time to market area should also show Improvement together these two kvas reflect your organization's overall capability to deliver value when time to Market metrics are strong improvements in the current value area should also follow however if your current value metrics don't show sign significant Improvement despite excellent time to market performance it could mean your organization is creating products that the market doesn't want or need if your current value metrics are meeting expectations it is essential to invest in unrealized value to ensure organization is well positioned for future possibilities resilient organizations excel at sustaining and improving their product's current value while simultaneously capturing unrealized market value so going back to our initial question until you measure your organization capability to deliver value using ebm metrics decisions about which method or framework is better will remain based on assumptions and opinions once you start measuring the conversation will shift people won't be busy comparing scrum and conbine anymore they'll be more focus on improving the current scrum or combine practices to improve the delivery of value to customers in fact they might even combine the two to Leverage The Best of Both Worlds and if your organization is still sitting on the fence with that hybrid ad waterfall method you can also use EB metrics to measure its low Effectiveness as I mentioned earlier ebm metrics are method and framework agnostic once you start measuring properly you might be surprised by the amount of ways your hybrid agile waterfall implementation creates all right folks that is all from me today happy measuring and if you need help with measuring or facilitating an ebm Workshop I'm available in Australia and in the southeast Asia Market until next time I will see you in the next video bye now
