SCENE 1: FIRST TOUCH Act 1: Opening The Relationship - Week of June 1st This week's challenge is all about creating a memorable first impression. Research shows people form a first impression in just 7 seconds, and in sales, that window is everything. That snap judgment establishes whether someone trusts you, sees you as different from every other rep in their inbox, and decides you're worth their time. Done right, a strong first impression isn't just a good start; it can be the single reason someone chooses to work with you over a competitor who never made them feel seen. Whether it's a new lead, a new referral, or anyone who hasn't met you before, here's your chance to set a new expectation of what it will be like working with you! Talking Points - Personalize. Open with their name or something specific about them. Make it clear from the first second that this was made for them, not a huge list. - Value. Get to what's in it for them fast. They'll only keep watching if they know why they should. - CTA (Call To Action). End with one clear next step. One ask gets answered. Three get ignored. Hello and welcome to BombBomb Summer Challenge Lights, Camera, Convert. My name is Kevin and I am so excited that you have signed up and decided to walk beside us and let us guide you in how video can be more impactful in your business, specifically in these moments in your sales cycle. For week one, our first week, what are we jumping on? It's that first impression. The first time we meet somebody. Did you know that the average person builds that first impression within the first seven seconds that they meet them? Well, that's why this video is so impactful. I don't care if this is a new lead that filled out a form on your website, whether it's somebody you are cold outreaching to that you've never met before, or heck, maybe it's just somebody that's been referred to you. It doesn't matter what level it is. This is a really important moment not only for you to differentiate from other sales people and other products they may be exploring, but to really establish that most important element for somebody to choose you. And that's trust. So, when you're thinking about this moment specifically, what are some things that are really important for this specific video? Well, first and foremost, we have to remember we don't know this person. We have to earn the trust. time for them to click play and watch what we have to offer. So, the biggest tool we can use for that is time. Keep your video short. 60 seconds is the absolute max. I'm going to try and keep mine between 30 and 45 when I'm introducing and meeting somebody new. The second thing is, we also want them to know, oh, when we're using this personalized video and sending you an individual video, I want you to know it's individual before you even click play. Now, what might be a fun little tool, something that's sitting around that could help you? A sticky note. If you write the recipient's name on the sticky note and hold it up for the first few seconds of your video, BombBomb will then take that, make our animated preview from that first three seconds, and that's what now shows up in the email. Now, the last thing I want to touch on before I show you a real example of what this video can sound like is, I want you to think about what is my framework for a video. Throughout this entire series, we are not going to give you scripts of exactly what to say. Why? Cuz you say things very differently than I would. We are going to give you bullet points. The first bullet point here is personalize the beginning. We're going to visually do it, and we're also going to mention it in that first couple seconds cuz they need to know this is for them before they have to go too far in. The second piece here we're going to focus on is value. What is the value that they need from this video? Not from what I need. What is the value we can offer them? And we need to get to that within the first 5 to 10 seconds of this video so that they are listening to something important to them, not just a salesperson talking about themselves and their product. And then last but not least, we have to be really clear on what's next, a CTA or a call to action, singular. We want one very singular specific thing we want them to do next to keep the conversation going. So, we are so excited that you're going to be using video in this facet. Let me give you an example of what this video could look like for you. Hey Sarah, my name is Kevin here at BombBomb, and I wanted to reach out because I got your name from Carol. Carol gave me your name and just said that recently you guys had mentioned you were looking for new homes. Well, you know, we would love to work with you here. I work at BombBomb Homebuilders and we've been in this city here for 50 plus years helping people just like you kind of take that next step. One of the things that we've learned is it's not about just getting you into a new home. Anybody can find a new home. It's about you obviously need something. Has there been a life change? Has there been we've run out of space? Is it location? There's so many different reasons why you may have mentioned that, and that's really why I'm reaching out. I would love to schedule time with you. So, if you don't mind replying back to me, I've got some wide open time Tuesday and Thursday afternoon. If that would work for you, I'd love to just schedule a call so we can understand what are you needing, help figure those out, and go, do we have a home ready that could work? Could we put something together? Or you know what? Maybe it's just, hey, let's meet and learn those things, and it would be such a pleasure to meet you. Regardless, if you reply back to me and let me know if that would be nice for you, and if either of those afternoons work for you, I would love to schedule that time. I look forward to hearing from you, and I hope you're having a wonderful day. So, there you have it. There's an example of what your video can sound like that weaves those bullet points together. We visually personalized, we verbally personalized at the beginning. We got to the value for them as quickly as we possibly could, and then we gave a clear CTA of reply here and let me know one of these two dates. The more specific we can be, the more likely they are to reply. So, now it's your turn. Maybe it's not a new lead, but it's somebody you've been meaning to introduce yourself to for a long time.
