Let me show you what just happened to your smart home. Google just replaced Assistant with Gemini and it changes everything. Your Nest cameras can now think. Your smart home can hold real conversations and you can control it all like you're talking to a person, not a robot. This is rolling out right now and I'm going to show you exactly what it does. Google Assistant is dead. Well, not technically dead, but Gemini just took over every Google Home device and the difference is insane. Here's what happened. On October 1st, Google started rolling out Gemini for home. This isn't just an update. It's a complete replacement of how your smart home works, and I tested it. So, let me break down what's actually new. First thing, there's a new feature called Ask Home. It's basically a chatbot for your entire house. You open the Google Home app, you type or talk to it, and it knows everything about your devices. You can ask it stuff like, "Why didn't my porch light turn on last night? " And it actually answers. It looks at your automations. It checks your device history and it tells you what went wrong. That's not something Assistant could do. Assistant was dumb. You had to ask perfect questions. If you didn't say the exact command, it failed. Gemini is different. It understands context. You can have a real conversation with it. Here's an example. You say, "Turn on the lights. " Then you say, "Make them warmer. " Gemini remembers you're talking about the lights. You don't have to repeat yourself. That's huge because with assistant, you had to say, "Turn on the lights. " And then set the lights to warm white. Every time you wanted to change something, you started over. Now it's like texting a friend who controls your house. Second thing, camera search got way smarter. Your Nest cameras can now describe what they see. Not just motion detection, actual descriptions. You can ask, "Show me the last time someone was in my backyard. " And it finds it. even if it was three days ago. Even if there were a hundred of emotion clips or you say find the clip where my dog was on the couch and it does because Gemini can see what's in the video. This is the part that blew my mind. I asked it to find a motion clip from my backyard and it pulled it up in two seconds. No scrolling, no guessing. It just knew. But here's the catch. Advanced camera features are behind a payw wall. Google just launched Google Home Premium. It costs money and that's where the best camera AI lives. So if you want Gemini to give you smart alerts like person detected at front door or summaries of your day, you pay. Otherwise you get basic Gemini features for free. Third thing, routines got easier, way easier. Before you had to build routines in the app. You tap through five screens, you'd set triggers, you'd add actions. It took forever. Now you just tell Gemini what you want. You say, "When I say movie time, dim the lights, turn on the TV, and start my playlist. " And it builds the routine for you. I tested this. I said, "Create a routine. When I get home, turn on the living room lights and unlock the front door. " And it worked. First try, no setup, no menus. That's the power of natural language. You talk like a human and it figures out what you mean. Hey, if we haven't met already, I'm the digital avatar of Julian Goldie, co of SEO agency Goldie Agency. Now, let's talk about what else changed. The Google Home app got a redesign. There's a new feature called Home Brief. It's a summary of everything happening in your house. You open the app and it tells you, "Front door camera detected motion at 8:00 a. m. Living room lights have been on for 3 hours. Thermostat is set to 72°. " It's like a morning briefing for your smart home. And it's useful because you don't have to check every device. You just read one screen. But here's where things get messy. Early reviews are mixed. Some people love it. They say it's way more natural. It understands complex requests. It remembers context. It feels like talking to a real assistant. Other people are frustrated because it's new. There are bugs. Some commands don't work yet. Some devices aren't supported and the rollout is slow. I saw Reddit threads where people enabled Gemini and it broke their routines or it couldn't control certain lights or it gave weird answers. That's normal for early access. But it means you need to know what you're getting into. If you're a power user who wants the latest tech, turn it on. If you just want your smart home to work without issues. Now, if you want to scale your business and save hundreds of hours with AI automation like this, you need to check out my AI profit boardroom. It's the best place to get more customers and automate your business with AI. This stuff really works when you know how to use it, right? Link is in the description. So, now let's talk about the new hardware because Google didn't just launch Gemini for home. They also announced new devices. There's a new Google Home speaker. It's built specifically for Gemini and it's not coming until spring 2026, but it's designed to be the brain of your smart home. It has better mics

better speakers, and it's optimized for Gemini Live. That's the conversational mode where you can interrupt and have back and forth conversations. They also announced new Nest cameras. These have better AI. They can recognize packages. They can tell the difference between people and animals, and they integrate with Gemini's camera search. But again, the best features are behind the Google Home Premium subscription. So, if you want the full experience, you're paying monthly. Here's where I stand on this. Gemini for Home is impressive, but it's not perfect yet. The pros are clear. It's way more conversational. It understands context. Camera search is incredible, and routines are finally easy to build. The cons are also clear. Some features cost money. Early access means bugs. And if you have older devices, they might not work yet. There's also a privacy question. Gemini has access to your camera history. It can see what's happening in your house and it's using AI to analyze all of that. Google says you can control what it accesses. You can turn off camera history. You can disable specific features, but you need to check the settings. If privacy matters to you, go to the Google Home app, check the permissions, make sure you know what Gemini can see. Now, here's my recommendation. If you want to try it, enable early access in the Google Home app. Test it on a few devices. See how it works. If it's buggy, you can switch back to assistant. You're not locked in. But if you're serious about building a smarter home, Gemini is the future because this is just the start. Google's going to keep adding features and the AI is only going to get better. The question is whether you want to be an early adopter or wait for it to mature. For me, I turned it on because I want to see where this goes. And so far, it's been worth it, even with the bugs. All right. If you want to scale your business and save hundreds of hours with AI automation, you need to join my AI profit boardroom. It's the best place to get more customers, automate your workflows, and stay ahead of the AI curve. We're using AI to build real businesses, not just talk about it. Check it out in the description. So, that's Gemini for Home. It's rolling out now. It's replacing Google Assistant and it's turning your smart home into something way smarter. If you have Nest cameras or Google Home devices, you're going to see this update soon. And when you do, you'll notice the difference immediately. The commands are better, the conversations feel natural, and your devices finally feel smart. But remember, this is early access. Expect some rough edges. Expect some features to be missing. And expect Google to keep improving it over the next few months. The smart home just got a brain upgrade and Gemini is running the show now. Want to make more money with AI?
