New Google Gemini Updates are INSANE!

Today we're going to be running through some of the latest updates in the AI world from Google starting with Firebase. So Firebase have basically introduced a bunch of new features which we'll run through today and you can actually get free access to this inside Firebase. studio. This is really powerful for building apps. So you can see here for example you can basically build like a full stack AI app using AI agents. And this is completely free to use. Most people don't know about it or even think about using it. Uh but it's kind of like a almost like a free version of bold on new or something like that. Now you can use Gemini in Firebase as well and this allows you to basically create apps, share them, deploy them and one of the first updates that they've actually introduced is let me get started with this is actually being able to deploy faster. So you can see a bunch of different apps that built here on the right hand side. And then if you have an AI uh app that you want to build, you can actually come into this section here and you can start coding for free using Firebase. Right? So for example, if I say okay, create a language learning app teaching me Italian. Something like that, right? And then we'll click on prototype with AI. And what this will start doing is start building out the app that we want to design and we can do that completely for free. Right? And you see here it's come up with the app blueprint. So CO linguo which is sort of a play on words with the Italian came with the app name um all the features. So, for example, like interactive quizzes, progress tracking, themed vocabulary, contextual examples, kind of like a Dolingo alternative, and then you can actually play with the brand colors on the app, the layout, the typography, the iconography, the animations as well, which is pretty cool. And then down here, you can see which stack you're using, okay? So, like what you're going to use for the AI, uh, which we're using Gemini Genkit. And then what we're going to use for the UI, aka the user interface, and we're going to use TypeScript, NextJ. js, JS Intel Win CSS which I don't know much about cuz I'm not a coder but I can code using this process pretty easily right here. You can also customize and edit this as you need to. So you can change the prompts and the styles that you code in. And then from here we can click on prototype this app and it will actually start editing um and building out the app as you can see right here. So it's really easy to do, pretty simple to start using and it didn't cost us anything to do. Now, once we're happy with that, we can actually publish in the top right over here as you can see. But essentially, that's how easy it is to start coding with this, right? Um, the other thing I like about this as well is like if you're coding offline, you know, if you're coding with something local like for example Visual Studio Code, um, the biggest problem with that is that your laptop or your computer can slow down quite a lot. Um, and also the speed at which it codes is kind of like dependent on how fast your laptop is. And if you got loads of apps or Google Chrome running in the background, it slows down even more. If you use something like um Firebase, it's coding is coding in the c in the cloud, right? So it can just basically prototype new apps but in the cloud um and you don't need to worry about your laptop speed as well. Um so let's have a look at the output from this app. So this is the app that fire studio code created. I'm assuming the sound is not going to work. — Actually does work. That's crazy. I just tested it now. Langer. — Langanger. All right. So, I mean, you've got a working app. You've got the progress bar right here. The color is quite nice. You got the title of the app. This is all automated with AI. Um, you can quiz yourself as well. That doesn't seem to work, which is okay. You can just click on issues here and fix stuff if you want to. Now, if we go back or if we refresh, um, then we can switch as well. And you can see we've got different categories at the top. So, you got restaurant words that we can learn. We have travel, business, etc. I'm actually blown away that the audio actually works on the app. That is absolutely amazing. And then you can track your progress here. And you've got flash cards here. Now, if we click on contextual examples, is that going to work? No. So, you know, this is just a prototype where if you get an error, like you can see down here, it's got an unexpected error, then all you do is you just ask it to fix those errors inside the description here. So you would say, okay, fix this error where I can't click on contextual examples. But yeah, that's pretty simple and easy to do. Um, and then also the other thing here is you want to add a Gemini API key. If you don't have one, then you can just click on autogenerate and generate that down here. Um, and that's probably why the contextual examples section was not

working because it didn't have it. But yeah, basically that's how you can build out apps. Pretty simple and easy. If the autogenerate doesn't work, then you can go over to AI studio. google. com. All right. So, if you go to API keys, you can generate a free API key over here. So, just click on get API key. Um, and then you can create one in the top right like you can see. So, it's pretty simple and easy to create. Google for developers as well. They've introduced a bunch of new updates as well recently. So, you can see here for example, the new Gemini Live model has just rolled up. Um, and basically what this allows you to do is like code voice agents with the live API from Gemini, right? Why would you want to do that? Because then you can create like active voice agents. Like you can see over here, they've actually used Twitter articles to create this. I think Twitter articles is getting a lot of reach right now. By the way, if you if you're not using this, AI to help you, I mean, you can see that even Google are using AI to write articles now. Like look at that mdash there. Who's doing that, right? That's for sure. Let's zoom in on the M dash. For sure Google are writing articles with AI now as well. I think even they've converted um which is something they used to crack down on before back in the day. So live API, you can create voice agents now. Um this is one way you can use it. To be honest, if you're not like technical like me, then I would just use something like um Visual Studio Code to help me with that and give it the documentation. That's essentially how you can use this as well. I'm going to go to nano banana and then I'll create the video with cling 2. 5 directly inside foul. So if we go inside here and say generate an AI karate man. So we got this AI man now as you can see and we've got the image. We're going to download that and then upload it into foul like you can see here. So, we got the image there and then we're going to say, okay, karate man doing crazy back flips and fast motion karate like an action movie fighting against a karate army of people. Something like that. Let's see how long this takes as well. So, I'm actually going to open up the timer stopwatch. Let's see. So, we got the tab at the top that is timing. You see that timer going there? And then we got cling video generating over here. So, we're using a combination of Google's new update with nano banana and then converting that into video using clin 2. 5. Now, what I'm also going to do is I'm going to take the exact same image and we're going to go and switch to create video tool 3 new chat. Add that photo we just downloaded. We'll take exactly the same prompt and we'll see which one generates a better video. Now bear in mind Clling I don't think it generates audio as far as I'm aware. I might be wrong. Um so we'll compare this against V3 and we'll see which one produces content the fastest as well. Just whilst we're waiting for those to generate cuz they're both taking over 2 minutes to generate here. Let's have a look at some of the latest updates from Google recently. So, some more updates that they've released is you can now uh use an advanced version of Gemini 2. 5 Deep Think. So, this is the most powerful version of Google Gemini Deep Think. I think they probably didn't release it at first because it either wasn't ready or it was just not safe to use, you know, if they release it into the public. Um, you can also share your Gemini app gems with anyone, right? So if you go into Gemini here and then if you go to expand menu explore gems these are kind of like custom GPTs you know like custom chat bots that you can build and create. So for example let's say you have a gem that's like an SEO content writer something like that. So you say, okay, create SEO content actually ranks. Obviously, like I would just use um and you know, if you want our best prompts, get them inside the profit boardroom. I would actually plug in like a really good prompt like this into it. Um then from here, you can actually preview and test that or you can save it. You can add knowledge as well. And if you click on here, you should be able to share that. So let's go to explore gems content writer. Click on share. And now you can share that with people. Right? If you click on anyone with a link can access this, you can share your custom gems with people as well. Now it's been 3 minutes 46. Are the videos done or not done? Right. Oh, look at this beast. That's in 2x speed, though, peeps. Let's in 2x speed. Let's have a look here. All right, that's pretty cool. I mean, the visuals are insane.

It is very cinematic, right? And I mean, the motion is crazy. It still feels like a video game to be honest. doesn't feel very like lifelike, but it looks cool. I think there's a little bit of a buggginess going on with the arms and the legs as well. I like that. I mean, that was super easy and simple to generate. Now, let's compare that to Google Gemini. So, we've got Google Gemini, uh, sorry, to Veo 3. So, Ve 3's version here. Just going to get that back down to 1x speed. So, it's much slower, isn't it? It's not as interesting. I mean, why is he doing a headbutt on the floor? That's what we all want to know. I'm going to download this. Also, it's a bit shorter, right? So, this is 7 seconds whereas cleaning is 10 seconds. I'm going to download this as well. So, let's download both of these and we'll compare them side by side and let me know in the comments which one you prefer. All right. So this is the video from Cling and then we have the video down here from Veo3. Okay. So they're both exactly the same prompt, exactly the same uh format, etc. But one is 8 seconds, which is Veo 3, and one is 10 seconds. So let's play this back. Actually, the audio on this is out of sync as well when I listen back on my laptop. Which one do you prefer? For me, I'm going to say Cling 2. 5 for sure. Like it just looks way, way better, way more cinematic, way more interesting. It just the motion doesn't feel as smooth, right? And he headbutts the floor, which we nobody understands why. Um, so if I had to pick one, I'm actually going to go with Cling 2. 5. But I do think that for just generating the image before you create the video, Nano Banana is the best, right? I mean, it generates the fastest images. It can generate AI characters. It's a lot faster and easier. Well, basically what you can do is you can take images, upload them into to clean. You can create the image with nano banana. It's pretty simple and easy. Um, yeah. Also, if we go back, I've shown you how we can create apps with Firebase. That was pretty simple and easy as well. Again, you would want to plug in your API key here, but you can see how you can create apps for free as well. The other thing I was going to say is you can get Gemini inside Chrome browser now as well. And uh you've got the live version of the API plus a new version of Google 2. 5 deep things. So loads of cool stuff coming out at the minute. I think Google is shipping the most out of everyone I've seen and they're creating absolutely amazing stuff.
