Made by Google 2025 Just Changed EVERYTHING...

Today we have the brand new updates from Google at the Made by Google 2025 event. You can see some of the latest updates including some crazy stuff when it comes to AI. I'll be coming on to that in a second. So essentially, if you want to see what's happened. So let me show you the summary and I'll be running through each of these step by step. So if you have any questions as we go along, feel free to ask. And we're just going to run straight into this. So the Made by Google event, basically they're announcing all of their latest Google AI updates, right? This is all about Google AI making the pixel portfolio more personalized etc. And they've included a bunch of new updates I'm going to run

through. So the first one here is the Gemini Live. Now basically what this is and I think the whole world's basically been waiting for this is a live virtual assistant that can help you directly with AI. Right? So it says Gemini is becoming a more helpful assistant with upgrades coming to Gemini Live. Now, if you don't know what Gemini Live is, essentially what you could do is you could pull up your phone, camera, etc. It can actually understand what's going on in real time by looking through your screen and then feeding that information back to you, right? So, you can imagine, for example, how powerful that would be if you're cooking, if you need help, if you're in the office, if you're trying to set something else up, etc. But also, it can actually give you onscreen guidance. Right? So when you share your camera, Gemini not only sees what you sees, but it also provides visual guidance by highlighting things directly on your screen. So you see here how it's actually highlighting different parts of what's going on your screen. So it's looking through the camera and then figuring out, okay, here's what it is. So if you had to say, I need cumin for cooking. Here's the cumin. Here's the cumin pot mate. Enjoy that if you can't see it right in front of you. So that's basically one of the updates. Another example would be like let's say you can't decide between two different sneakers, right? Gemini could actually compare both of them and say, "I prefer this one. I prefer that one. " It give you some ideas. Same for this. If you need a wrench, this will actually you can point your camera at your toolbox and Gemini will just point out the right one directly. So, really cool stuff here. You can see an example. And this is rolling out on the Pixel 10 series. Now, one of the things that's really interesting about this as well is that if you haven't realized it already, Google and sort of Apple are competing right now for the AI market. But the thing is that Apple haven't really released anything interesting when it comes to the iPhone and AI and anything that's actually useful. Whereas, if you look at Google, not only have they got one of the most powerful AI models in the world with Gemini, but also they're integrating that gradually into the phone. They do all sorts of other stuff that we'll cover in a second, too. Here's another example. So, when you're on the move, imagine you're talking with Gemini to find the fastest subway route. And if you realize you're running behind, you can simply interrupt to say, "This route looks good. " Let's say you got Google Maps on your phone. Now, send a message to Alex, I'm running about 10 minutes late. And basically, that will just set it up directly for you. So, really cool. And it can actually you can control how Gemini speaks, is quite natural and intuitive, and also does a bunch of other stuff, too. This is probably the first time that I've actually been slightly interested by Google phone for years. Quicks made says my first time with Julian live. So excited. Good to see you. So you can see there's other stuff too like the pixel fold is quite interesting. So this is like a new design to the model, but that's not quite into the AI stuff, which is what we really want to focus on. Let's keep

going through. Now the next update is not just Gemini Live, also Gemini Home, right? So it's like a household helpful assistant like a house manager that would handle everything for you in house. Now why is that useful? Basically it's going to automate a lot of everyday tasks and also it bridges that gap that I think we all currently have right now which is between what's going on online on our screens and whatever and what's actually happening offline. For example, like for me, I have an Alexa. It's great for playing music. It's great, for example, setting a stopwatch and timing yourself and doing stuff like that, right? What it's not great for is like understanding what's actually going on offline, integrating into your day-to-day sort of household activities, right? For example, you can play media and that sort of thing. So, you can say, "I play the song of the year winner from 1990 or that sort of thing. " By the way, if you try and do this with Alexa, it's not great. Like, it will fail at a lot of stuff because it doesn't have advanced reasoning. Whereas for example, if you look at AI and you look at these new AI updates that are coming to Google, essentially they have these advanced reasoning models that can basically search in a more powerful way when it comes to voice search, which is way more useful. Also, you get like smart powerful home controls. So, for example, you can set dim the lights, set the temperature to 72°, etc. Turn off the lights everywhere except in my bedroom. And then also coordinating between like your offline life and your devices. So, for example, it could be improved calendar creation, list creation, timers, etc. That sort of stuff. I think the way that I see this going as well is particularly if you look at Alexa and probably the new updates that will come to that. With Alexa and tools like that, you're probably going to see that you order for more people in the same household. So, for example, like Gary VT, he talks a lot about how like you could say to Alexa, I've got three vegans, one vegetarian coming tonight. Order a bunch of stuff from Amazon. Make sure it arrives before then or come in tomorrow. you can ask a lot more interesting questions to Gemini. Now, this is the thing as well, like with Alexa, if you ask questions, most of the time it fails. It's just not that intelligent. Whereas, for example, if you got expert advice live in your home and it's controllable voice, that's going to be 10 times better, isn't it? I can imagine people just start having conversations with their Gemini home device. So, it's really tempting to actually get one of these, to be honest. For example, here it says, "I have certain ingredients like spinach, eggs, cream cheese, and smoked salmon in the fridge. Help me make a delicious meal. " And then Gemma Live will actually give you a recipe for creating something nice around that, right? Or I'm thinking about buying a new car. Let's talk about that. Or help me come up with a nutrition plan for the week. So you can almost replace a personal trainer or a personal chef for that sort of thing. Cut the check says, "Does Gemini have realtime data? " Yes, it does. So it's connected to the internet. When you're using a device like this, obviously if you using Gemini normally, you'd have to use a ground search feature, right? So if you go on to AI studio for example and you wanted to use Gemini connected to the internet then the way that you would do that is you would select Gemini 2. 5 Pro over here and then inside Gemini 2. 5 Pro you would select ground in with Google search and that would connect Google to the AI so that you can search in real time. Now with Gemini live obviously you get that's like part of it right. So that's basically how you can get Gemini connected to the internet and then if you use Gemini directly inside the chat as well it's connected to the internet right? If you type in, for example, what happened in the made by Google live event today, it should using Gemini 2. 5 Pro be able to search through the internet and give you the breakdown. So, we'll come on to that in a sec. Then there's other stuff like requesting troubleshooting, asking for creative collaborators. So, this is really interesting as well, right? Basically, you can, let's say you needed to come up with a story, right? Bedtime story, whatever. You got family. One of the prompts you can use, for example, is let's create a bedtime story for my daughter, whatever. personalize it for the main character is a scientist who is also a princess and loves corn, right? So, you're coming up with a storyboard on the go and then it'll basically give you some options and come up with some ideas for that. Now, if you go back to Gemini, they actually have this feature which I'm sure will probably be implemented too, which is the story book feature, right? So, if you go to storybook over here, you can actually create your own stories with Gemini. Now, I imagine that stuff like this, this actually has narration, so you can actually listen back to it as well. But with stuff like this, you can essentially come up with stories on the go, right? And creative stuff. So it's not just limited to boring AI tasks like coming up with a bunch of ingredients for a meal. Now, if we have a look, so yeah, Google is connected directly to the internet inside Gemini. So you can see here it's come up with all the latest news based on recent information that's just come out. So for example, the Times of India. These are all recent articles that just came out recently like within the few hours. And so yeah, you can see that this is actually quite useful for finding real-time information. So it'll be the same for the household assistant as well. Now, there's a few others as well. So there's

a bunch of AI updates for the Pixel 10, which is their so Pixel 10 phones. And bear in mind again, like Google's not really integrated anything useful for AI yet. Whereas inside, for example, Google Pixel, you can integrate a lot of cool stuff. So this is the latest phone from Pixel 10. So you can see an example what it looks like here. Pretty nice build. Looks pretty cool. Honestly, I've never bought a Google phone actually, but I've bought like Samsung phones and that sort of thing. You do get a lot more customization with Androids as well. So, most powerful AI chip yet. So, it's got new AI chips on it or this basically connects to dots. So, it's called Magic Q and essentially it's more proactive, right? So, it can figure out, okay, how do you usually use your phone? And then, for example, pulls it in from other apps. So, you can see here, for example, you can say, hey, do you have the address for tonight for my event? and it pulls in the address from your other apps which is really cool as well. The same for example for booking flights and that sort of thing. So that's going to integrate probably with Google flights. That's probably how they're doing it and why they're doing it. And then even for example like a discover feed that's personalized with AI, right? So it's all fitted to your personalizations and requests. And then here's something

really crazy. So you can actually build connection across languages with just a call, right? So voice translate allows you to break down language barriers during phone calls. So, for example, for me, I have some Italian family. I could dial them up, right? They don't even speak like Italian that I can understand properly. It's more which I need subtitles for. And so, what you can do is you can actually use a voice translate on the phone call and then get instant translation on the phone, right? So, whilst you're speaking to someone in a different language, get instant translation, you connect with people much better. And that works for example with English to Spanish, German, Japanese, French, Hindi, Italian, Portuguese, Swedish, Russian, and Indian. So, really crazy stuff there, too. You've also got for example pixel taking messages kind of like an assistant. So if you have a mis call it can actually take a message for you. You've got Gemini live. So this is where again you can take pictures like products you're thinking about buying and it will just zoom in and find it for you. So let's say you have a whole shelf of stuff and you're not sure okay which one is the best fit for me or which product is the product I'm looking for. You can take a picture. The AI just figures out for you. You don't even need a brain anymore. What else we got here? So we have note takingaking. So it's really cool. You can basically take like pixel screenshots. If the screenshot detects a picture that you've taken that would be a good fit for your notebook, it will automatically suggest adding it which is really cool. And then you can do the pixel journal as well which is like AI based as well. So you can see an example here top journey goal personal growth here's where you're most active is the number of entries. It even has like emojis for like how you're feeling that day locations you've been to. Calendar notifications and reflections. So, for example, let's say you go out for a run, a lake persona, and then you reflect on it. Really interesting stuff. Like, he's very innovative. And then you've got Gboard as well. So, you can fix stuff automatically when you're writing and typing up. And then here's what's even crazier is you can actually make songs with recorder using AI. So, you can hum certain tune and then record your vocals and select a desired music style and it will just generate some music for you like off your phone. It's pretty wild. Pretty wild stuff. Next up, we have editing images in Google Photos. So, with this sort of process, basically, you can edit just by asking. So, it's like a natural language way of asking it to edit certain parts of your photo, but it's on screen, right? So, the AI is installed on your phone, then it uses that AI to edit your images. So, you can say remove the background color or make this brighter, etc. Or like auto optimize it. And just by typing that in and describing the edits you want, you can then edit the photo automatically, too. and then like cropping images and that sort of thing, certain image tweaks. It tells you exactly how this is made. So you've got content credentials and you can see here it's edited with AI. So if you edit anything with AI on your phone, then it gets labeled as that inside the metadata which is quite useful and that's called what's that called? C2PA content credentials essentially. So you can see how images were made for added transparency and it's the first to implement this. That seems like a sort of compliance metadata thing, which is a little bit crazy when you think about it, but it's automatically added inside the content credentials. Finally, wanted to show you some Gemma 3 new fine-tuned use cases that got announced as well by Google AI developers. So, if you're not familiar

with Gemma, basically, this is a very lightweight model you can actually install on your phone. I actually talk about it inside the AR profit boardroom, inside the SAP section here with Gemma. Gemma 3 is basically an update where AI works so well on Google phones. It's an update by Google where you can install this your phone and then it uses AI on your phone. Obviously fine-tune it certain different features. So for example, you could turn it into chess champion or something that summarizes on your iPhone. You've got additionally speaking styles and personas generating and reading bedtime stories locally. You can fine-tune Gemma 3, which is a tiny little AI model and open source into any sort of specialist AI expert that you want. Here's another example. So, if we scroll down here, you can have a personal running coach as you can see. But this is a tweet by Tyrate T. Let's pull this up. And basically, you can use this for personalizing how to the Gemma 3 model to become like a running coach for you. The final thing that I was going to mention was Pixel Buds Pro. Again, I don't actually use any of these products yet, but I am thinking about seriously switching because it'd be so much easier to use AI and to take advantage of it on these sort of devices, right? So, if we have a look at the PixelB Pro, for example, this uses AI, too. Just going to mute this. So, it's got like active noise cancellation. They just don't look as cool as the AirPods. So, that's the only problem, isn't it? But yeah, essentially that's it. And then if you want to see some of
