🚨 BREAKING: NEW Google Gemini 2.5 Updates!

Breaking news. Gemini 2. 5 Flash Light, the fastest, most costefficient model from 2. 5, is available from Google. We're going to be testing out today and running through the benchmarks as well. By the way, you can get access to this for free inside AI Studio. Just make sure you select Flashlight Preview. I've not got my credit cards plugged in and it still works. So, let's run through what it means, how it goes, etc. So you

can see here flash 2. 5 and 2. 5 Pro are generally available but the main one here is a Gemini 2. 5 flash light. This is the new model from Google. As you said as you can see here they said we're also introducing a preview of the new 2. 5 flashlight. Our most cost efficient and fastest 2. 5 model yet. And you can see here it has all round higher quality than 2. 0 flashlight on coding, math, science, reasoning and multimodal benchmarks. And you can see some of the comparisons here on the benchmarks. All right. So, for example, this is the new model 2. 5 flash light. And also, you got two different modes here. So, you have thinking and non-thinking. So, if you go over to AI Studio, for example, and you select in the top right here, 2. 5, Gemini 2. 5, then you're going to select flash light preview 0617. And then from here, you can actually switch between thinking mode and non-thinking mode. Right? Obviously, thinking mode, you're going to get better results, but it's going to take a little bit longer to reply. And also, if you're coding on the API, it's going to cost more money as well, right? So, if

we compare these on the benchmarks, we see how they perform. So, you got flashlight versus 2. 0 Flash. So, this is actually a lot cheaper in terms of comparisons. Way cheaper than Gemini 2. 5 Pro as well. Pretty much a tenth for the price. If we have a look at his performance here, so there is a huge difference in terms of humanity's last exam. So Gemini 2. 5 Pro scores 21% on that. Whereas for example flashlight scores 5%. If we look at science Gemini 2. 5 Pro which is obviously a much more powerful but more expensive model scores 86% whereas flashlight non-thinking scores 64% and flashlight thinking scores 66%. So compared to Gemini 2. 5 Flash this is a much lighter model but it's a much cheaper model as well and is very fast when I've tested out as So you can see all the key benchmarks here in terms of how it performs. Again it's not free on open router but if you want to use it from AI studio it is free to use and you know that's how you can use it for free directly. Okay. So, for example, here what I've said is create a single HTML for an SEO calculator. Make it beautiful. Great landing page, great colors, dopamine juicing. And if we plug in this prompt into AI Studio, I actually didn't use thinking mode for this. It generated the HTML code like crazy fast. I'll show you an example of how fast it can reply in a second. And then you've got all the HTML code right here. Boom. Shackle. Let's copy that over and we'll go over to LiveWeave to preview it. By the way, some people will comment saying you can build apps inside and preview inside AI Studio. But on the build section, you can't actually switch between the different APIs, so you don't know which one you're testing. But if we have a look over here, we can preview the page that we've created. And look at that. Ready to go. Looks pretty nice right here. Just going to remove some of the JavaScript there, cuz that should be in there. Let's remove that. Ah, there we go. All right. Looking much better. Now, if we have a look at this, this is the page that we generated in like one click, super fast using Gemini 2. 5 flash light preview for free. All right. So, as an example of that, let's copy this out. We'll go back here. We're going to switch on thinking mode to see if we get a better result and see how fast that is. We'll plug this in, hit run, and you see how fast it is. It's like it's crazy fast compared to something like Clawude or something like that. This is redonkulously fast, my friends. All right. And then you've got the HTML ready to preview over here. Let's just make sure that works. Sometimes it doesn't. I'll run some tests on it later today. But look at that. Looks pretty nice, right? And that's with the thinking mode. Pretty nice design. Should work perfectly. Let's hit calculate my score on that. And yeah, it works. We've got the personalized SEO score underneath. Nice UI. Very simple, but it works right fast, free, easy to use. Now, if you want to use it on Open

Router, you can see it is available. It is going to cost you money if you use it on Open Router though, so just bear that in mind. And then you can see between here okay what apps accepted so root code client etc. And then agent zero as well is running it pretty good. And then you can see where it's available. So vertex and AI studio as well. And then additionally you can also compare this.

So if we compare this now versus let's say we compare it versus a previous model of flash. So 2. Yeah. So, let's compare it versus a previous version of Flashlight. So, this is a new one. Compare them. So, the context window is the same, which is a million context, which is awesome to be honest cuz I think even Claw Sonic 4 is like 200 tokens. And then you can compare the prices here. So, it's a lot cheaper than the 2. 0 flashlight model. So, it's slightly more expensive than the 2. 0 flashlight model, just so you can see here. And then you can test these side by side. But yeah, we can actually go in the chat and compare them as well. So if we take 2. 0 flashlight and we compare that versus 2. 5 flash, right? And then let's plug in the same prompt over here. So we go back to the chat room over here. And we'll compare which one performs best. So we've got a 2. 0 flashlight. 2. 5 flashlight came back to us way quicker. They're both pretty fast at coding like you can see. We'll compare the outputs in a second. See side by side which one performs the best. All right. So, we got the outputs really fast as you can see. Let's expand this. And this is the 2. 5 output. We'll plug that in. There we go. So, that's 2. 5. And actually, to be honest, like I would say the output from AI Studio was much nicer than Open Router. Just something to bear in mind there as well. So, like seems like the performance with the exact same prompt seems to change depending on which platform you use. And then we can plug this in. And that is 2. 0. So this is 2. 0. So to be honest, if I'm looking at the UI, this is 2. 5. This is 2. 0. Like the actual UI with the colors looks more modern on this side, but blue on blue doesn't make any sense. And then on the right hand side, you have the 2. 0 model. But I would probably use this cuz the colors are actually usable, right? It actually works. So it's up to you, you know, what you think about this. But to me it doesn't look like a massive difference

difference to be honest. Now if you want to start coding with this what you can do is you can open up something like Visual Studio Code. And actually inside the AI success lab you'll see two different courses on Visual Studio Code and Rode if you want to learn how to use this stuff. But basically from here if you want to code with this you can just go to something like plan. We can go to settings. We can type in Rita. Then we can do from here is just type in flash 2. 5. If we can't find it like that, then we'll type in 2. 5 here. And there we go. 2. 5 flash preview. And that's how we can start using this. Hit save over there and then start coding with this. The other way is you should be able to switch to Google Gemini. Then we're going to switch to 2. 5, but actually can't see it in the list of Google settings. Right? So, you got 2. 5 Pro preview, flash preview, but there's no flashlight preview there. So, yeah, best way to use this is with open router. There we go. And then just make sure you're using flashlight preview. 0617. Hit save. And then you can switch between plan and app mode. I'm just going to go straight into app mode cuz I'm a man of action. And then you can for example just take that same prompt that we took earlier. Plug that in. Copy this. Go over to the Visual Studio Code and then type this in. Right.
