OpenClaw + NotebookLM: Build ANYTHING!

Today we're going to be looking at how to set up notebook lm directly with open claw. Now if you haven't used notebook lm before it's pretty amazing. You can for example generate images. You can generate podcasts. You can do all of this for free using notebook lm. And today we're going to be leveraging the notebook mcp server to get access to using this. So for example we can feed docs to claude directly from notebook len. You could do web search etc using this directly. We're going to get started by making sure that we have openclaw running and then leveraging that with notebookm. So if you want to get started with open claw we've got the full installation instructions right here on the github and what we're going to do over here is we are just going to make sure that we have this running and let's get started with this. Right. So we're going to go through the terminal here and you can see we now have open claw running directly. Right. So I've said are you online? It's like yes, I'm online. Ready to go. Okay, perfect. So, what we're going to do from here is we will be

going over to the notebook LMCP server, which you can see over here, and we're going to plug this in to open claw and say, can you set this up so that openclaw works with notebook? John says, useful resource happy to help. Lextop says, I keep having chron and model problems with open claw. Yesterday I got many Chrome fails and today I get context overflow errors even after new. Yeah, I would just try switching up the API. It depends what API you're using for that. So I quite often find that for example if you're using something like Kim K25 that will fail a lot when it comes to tasks on open claw whereas if you're using something for example like uh chatbt codeex or for example clawed opus these seem to be a lot more reliable when it comes to using open claw. So I would check that first and then I'd also see okay like what are the jobs you're trying to automate. Is your lap is your laptop on when you're running the tasks as well. Open routk 2. 5 opus 4. 5 codex will fail for me. I don't know that that's hard to say. I would recommend jumping on if you're not already in there. Go to the profitable board jump on the calendar calls here on the Zoom calls and then just share your screen and show us you know like what you're struggling with to automate and that sort of thing. We could take a look for you. It's hard for me to look and give you some answers on that without looking at the tasks themselves. But the first place I would look would be the API. The second place I would look at is like running the task and then seeing if it works. And the third place is like looking at okay is the terminal running for openclaw when you've got the task scheduled, right? Like if you go offline and then open core is not working. If for example openclaw has task scheduled whilst you're offline then obviously they're not going to work as well. But um again, it's really hard for me to tell you without looking at it. Just being 100% honest there. So, we're installing this GitHub now. We can check inside the terminal, see what it's doing. So, you can see it's beginning to set this up. if you if you're ever like wondering, okay, what's it doing? You know, when it's like in thinking mode. So, for example, if we look inside the chat here, it was in thinking mode. You can always go to the logs. The logs are pretty useful to see what's going on because sometimes it won't be responsive inside the chat, right? So if we have a look over here, it's set up the MCP for using notebookm. Let's just double check here. See if it's working. So it's beginning to set this up. You see it's added notebookm to the MCP portter inside openclaw. And then it just requires um authenticating notebook, right? So you can see here for example it says I've already installed notebook mcla installed mcporter we need to restart chrome and then go from there. All right. So that's one way that we can set up no claim. I actually can't shut down my Chrome because I'm on a live stream right now and if I shut it down, the whole live stream is going to fail. But that's basically how to set up the MCP. You just need to authenticate it. So you need to make sure that you run LM NL NLM login and then from there you can do the cookie import to get the notebook list. All right, that's what you want to do that. And then once you've done that, you can run it directly. The other option that you have

is you could actually say with open claw. So just make sure that you install the extension for open claw which you can see right here. So if we go back to the chat inside open claw we can plug that in and say set this up and we just begin to install the chrome extension. So method number one for connecting notebook LM directly to open core is done already. And if you're wondering okay like why would you want to connect open claw directly to notebookm? Well, for example, what you can do is you can easily generate like videos or podcasts using notebookm and just make open claw way more powerful for free, right? Because notebookm is free to use and open claw can be free to use if you use some of the methods I was talking about before, right? So, for example, you see this presentation, this video that's narrated by AI, completely automated with AI and literally all we did was just plug in a few sources automatically and then no bookm can generate this for us. also one of the best in the world for doing research which you can see in the middle column here. And then if we go back over to notebook, we can for example generate images, reports, etc. Here's a comprehensive study guide that we created. You can automate almost anything using notebook. Right? So from here what we're going to do now is we are going to load the extension that it's installed. So you can see here it says done. The open claw chrome extension is installed locally. Here's what to do. So, we're going to go over to Chrome extensions, turn on developer mode, which we've got in the right hand side. Make sure that we have the open claw plugin ready to go. So, we just need to load unpacked and then it'll be inside here. So, let's click on load unpacked Chrome extension. Load that one in. Here we go. We can save that. And now we've got open claw ready to go. Right.

So you can see the open claw chrome extension is over there. So now if you go back over to notebook, log into an account like this one and I'm going to say okay navigate to this URL using openclaw chrome extension. and generate some notebooks. Right. Then we're going to navigate over here. We've got OpenClaw browser relay, the Chrome extension ready to go. And if we hit enter like so, we can get OpenClaw to control our browser and then use this to generate um some notebook lamp stuff, right? You see it's thinking over here. You just want to make sure this is switched on as well. If you're using open claw browser relay, honestly I think the first option is better for MCPS, but you see how um open claw is now beginning to navigate this page. So I'm not clicking anything here. Open claw is controlling the browser and it's using open claw directly from the chat to start integrating with notebook. Right now you can see it's beginning to tie back to us here. If you go over to logs as well, you can see what it's doing, what it's working on, etc. And then it's like before I generate the notebooks, tell me what you want created. So if we say

okay, create a notebook about AI automation and open claw. We enter like so. Now you can see it's actually editing the title of the notebook. So it's changed the name of the notebook to AI automation plus openclaw. And you can see inside the chat here, it's writing AI automation workflows with open core agents, MCP and browser relay, right? So it can actually operate the whole of notebookm inside your browser or what you can do instead is you can have it operate via the MCP. But either way, you've got two different ways you can connect notebookm directly with no uh open claw and then operate it from the chat, operate it from telegram, etc. Right? So you can see now we've created the notebook. It's researching the websites and then if we want to once it finishes the research we could generate infographics, videos, etc. Okay, so that's basically how it works. I'm going to stop it there, but essentially you can get it to automate and build anything you want. So for example, now you could get open claw to create audio views, video views, mind maps, reports, etc. Right? Here's an example. So we've got podcast, we've got videos on the right hand side. So we even got for example this infographic that was generated using notebookm and you can do all of this inside open claw now in two different ways right now if you want to

Right. And bear in mind like if you went on to fiverr. com and you were paying someone to do um an infographic get could get pretty expensive ways. You can use notebook len with openclaw and just create them for free at any time, right? And then you could plug them into like a WordPress post that you've automated with AI and that sort of thing.
