Intro: OpenAI's Massive New Release

New OpenAI codeex app beats claude code. OpenAI just dropped something massive and most developers don't even know about it yet. It's called the Codeex app and it lets you run multiple AI coding agents at the same time like side by side on different tasks and it might just be the biggest threat to Claude code we've seen. But here's the thing, it's not just about coding. This app does something that no other AI tool does right now. It runs tasks in the background on a schedule without you doing anything. And there's one feature inside this app that genuinely blew my mind. I'm going to show you exactly what it is. And by the end of this video, you're going to know whether this is worth switching to. So, if you're into AI tools, if you want to actually save time and work smarter, stick around. This one's important. Hey, if we haven't met already, I'm the digital avatar of Julian Goldie, CEO of SEO agency Goldie Agency. Whilst he's helping clients get more leads and customers, I'm here to help you get the latest AI updates. And Julian Goldie reads every comment. So make sure you comment below. So OpenAI

What is the Codeex App?

just released the Codeex app. And this isn't just another coding tool. This is a whole new way of working with AI. It's a desktop app, Mac only for now. And it runs AI agents in parallel, multiple agents, same time, different tasks. That alone is a gamecher. But there's more and we're going to get into all of it, including how it stacks up against Claude Code, which has been absolutely dominating. So let's get into it. What is the Codeex app and why does it matter? Let's start with the basics. The Codeex app is a desktop application made by OpenAI. Think of it as a command center for AI coding agents. You open it up and instead of one AI helping you write code, you spin up multiple agents at the same time, each one working on something different and they don't get in each other's way. The way this works is through something called work trees. Each agent gets its own isolated workspace. So, if one agent is rewriting your homepage and another is building a new feature page, they're in completely separate environments. Nothing clashes, nothing breaks. It's one of the cleanest things I've seen in an AI coding tool. This matters because OpenAI is going head-to-head with Claude Code. Claude Code has been getting massive traction. So, the Codeex app is OpenAI's answer and it's a serious one. The features

Parallel Agents & Skills

that actually matter. Okay, so let's talk about what's inside this app. There are a few features here that really stand out. First up is parallel agents. You can run multiple agent threads at the same time across different projects. Each one has its own work tree, its own terminal, its own workspace. So you could have one agent running a big refactor while another writes a completely new feature at the same time. No interference. That's real power. Next is something called skills. Skills are reusable bundles of instructions that you build inside the app. You create them once and then you use them again and again. You could create a skill called deploy to Versel. Every time an agent finishes a task, it runs that skill and pushes the build live or build a skill that connects to Figma and pulls design straight into code. Set it up once, it works every time after that.

Automations & Background Tasks

Then there are automations and this is the feature that really made me sit up. Automations let you set up background tasks that run on a schedule without you being there every morning. The app could automatically triage your open issues or summarize CI failures from overnight. It just does it. But here's the smart part. Nothing gets merged without your approval. Everything goes into a review queue first. The AI does the heavy lifting. You stay in control. And the app has deep git and terminal integration. You can review diffs, stage commits, comment on lines of code, all inside the app. Each agent has its own terminal, so you can test before you approve. Clean workflow end to end. Now, here's the thing. All of these features, the parallel agents, the skills, the automations, they're not just useful for developers writing code. They're useful for anyone who runs a business and wants AI to actually do work for them in the background. And that's exactly what we help people do inside the AI profit boardroom. We take tools like this Codeex app and we show you step by step how to plug them into your actual business. So, you're not just learning about AI, you're using it to save time, to build faster, to run things smarter. No fluff, just real practical steps. Link is in the description and the comments. Now, let's keep going. The

The Feature That Blew My Mind

feature that blew my mind. Okay, so remember at the start I said there was one feature that genuinely blew my mind. Here it is. It's skills and automations working together on their own. Skills are cool. Automations are cool. But when you combine them, something different happens. You build a few skills. You set up a few automations. And now your AI agents are running tasks, building things, deploying things, all on a schedule, all in the background, all without you touching anything. Think about what that means in practice. You could have an agent that automatically picks up new design files, turns them into code, runs the tests, and puts the result into your review queue every single day without you doing a thing. That's not just a coding assistant anymore. That's an automated workflow engine. So, here's the question everyone

Codeex vs. Claude Code

wants answered. Does the Codeex app actually beat Clawude Code? Let's be straight about it. In some areas, yes. Parallel agents are a big one. You can run multiple agents at the same time in the Codeex app and claude code is more of a single session tool. So, if you need multiple things happening at once, Codeex has the edge. Automations are another one. Scheduled background tasks with a review queue is something Claude Code just doesn't do right now. And the skill system gives you a level of extensibility and reusability that's pretty unique. But Claw Code is still strong. It's fast. Developers genuinely love using it. It has a huge and active community. And the reaction to the Codeex app online has been mixed so far. Some people are excited. Some are still in a wait and see mode. That makes sense. It's brand new. It needs time to prove itself. But the fact that OpenAI built it tells you where things are heading. So here's the honest answer. If you want parallel agents and automated background workflows, the Codeex app is ahead right now. If you want a fast, reliable coding assistant that just gets the job done, Claude Code is still excellent. The smartest move is to try both and see which one fits how you actually work. If you want to jump in

How to Get Started

here's what to do. Download the Codeex app on your Mac, connect your project and your Git repo, and then start simple. Don't try to set up 20 automations on day one. Pick one task, let one agent handle it, see how it goes. Then once you're comfortable, start layering in skills and automations and use work trees. Seriously, they are the secret weapon in this app. They keep everything clean and organized when you're running multiple agents at the same time. Start there. Build from there. One more thing, the app also lets you switch between different personality modes for your agents. So you can make them more tur or more conversational depending on what you need. Play with that too. It makes a difference. So

Final Summary & Verdict

that's the codeex app. Parallel agents, reusable skills, scheduled automations, and git built right in. And it is going head-to-head with clawed code. Is it better across the board? Not yet. But in the areas that matter most for automation and parallel workflows is ahead and it's moving fast.
