Sam Altman Fired From OpenAI

it looks like open AI just fired Sam Alman as their CEO which is just completely shocking news and I just want to walk you through this blog post that they just posted minutes ago here and I was just in the process of posting my weekly AI recap video so I'll post that right after this one but it says that their CTO is going to be the new CEO of open AI Sam ultman departs the company and right here it says Sam Alman will depart as CEO and the board of directors too Amir moridi the again their Chief technology officer is going to serve as the CEO and he says effective immediately so let's see what happened exactly why Sam Alman is out right here it says Sam alman's departure follows a deliberate review process by the ward which concluded that he was not consistently candid on his Communications with the board hindering its ability to exercise its responsibility the board no longer has confidence idence in his ability to continue leading open AI now Sam ultman just two days ago basically said they're not accepting new users for GPT plus right now so they paused and then right after that this news comes out so that kind of happened within a couple of days really interesting here and then here's the official statement open aai was deliberately structured to advance our mission to ensure artificial general intelligent benefits all Humanity the board remains fully committed to serving this Mission we are grateful for Sam's many contribution to the founding and the growth of openai at this time we believe new leadership is necessary to move forward and the leader of this company's research product and safety function mea is exceptionally qualified to step in as the role of CEO and that's pretty much it that's all we know right now I'm making this video very quickly after this news came out again this is one of the most shocking news I've seen in Tech ever I'll go ahead and post this in the description below and then I'll still release my top five news of the week in AI
