Intro

So, using AI generated music is honestly one of the best ways right now to use AI to actually start an online business. But here's the thing, no one's really talking about it. And that's probably because most people don't know if they're even allowed to use AI generated music, where they're allowed to use it, or even how to make the music in the first place. So, in this video, I'm not only going to break down for you how people are potentially making money with AI generated music, but also the rules around it so you can do it the right way. So, just to put this into
0:30

Creating Music

perspective, by the end of this video, you're going to understand how channels just like this one exist. Channels made up 100% of AI generated content, including AI generated music. And despite that, this channel has multiple videos with a 100,000 views or more, some with hundreds of thousands of views. And you can see over here on SocialBlade that this channel is doing quite well. But like I said before, most people don't even realize that this is even possible. And there's a few reasons for that. Now, the first thing people get wrong about AI generated music is how to actually create it. Because you can't just use the standard apps that most people are familiar with like chat GBT. Instead, you have to use these specialized apps that are dedicated to creating AI generated music and sound effects. Now, this is the one that I use. is called Music GPT. I've been using them for a little while now. So, when I had the idea to make this video, I actually reached out to MusicGPT myself about sponsoring this video because I wanted to show you guys this platform, and they graciously agreed. So, if you want to support this channel, you can sign up for Music GPT using the link in the description down below. And what I like about this app is just how simple it is to use. You can create full songs, instrumentals, sound effects, even text to speech just by describing in plain English exactly what you want inside of this box. So, for instance, I can tell it to create a song with some relaxing low-fi beats with some soft piano and gentle drums, chill and peaceful. There's some further settings down here, but for purposes of this, let's go ahead and click on submit. We'll dive into some of the settings in our next example. Then, here on the right, you can see it's actually getting to work and generating this music for me. So, it's now finished. You can see on the right, it actually produces two different versions of the music for you. So, you can choose which one you like the best. So, what I'll do is I'll go ahead and open up one of these by clicking right here. Just quiet. — Honestly, I love that one. I think it sounds perfect. But let's go ahead and give the other one a listen just in case. — Honestly, I think both of them sound absolutely fantastic. But I like this second version a little bit better. That's the first one we actually listened to. So, what I can now do is click on these three dots and actually download the full song and use it however I need to. But let's make another example. I want to really dive into some more of these settings here. So, I'm going to give it a lot more elaborate of a prompt, telling it exactly what I'm looking for, the exact BPMs, exactly all the type of chords I wanted to use, and the track features. I could go ahead and add any attachments that I want, but I don't need to do that. Uh, if I wanted to give it a title, I could. I don't really have a title in mind for this. We also have this thing called prompt intensity, and this will control how closely the AI follows your prompt. I suggest you don't put this up to 100 because you want to give it a little bit of creative flexibility. So, I'm going to leave this on 85. And the same thing for the lyrics intensity as well. So, this really comes into play if you are uploading your own lyrics, which I'm not going to do in this case, mainly because I find that music GBT is really good at creating its own lyrics for the songs. So, if you wanted to, you can click right here where it says lyrics, and you can actually type in exactly what lyrics you want. Or what you can do is click right here where it says generate lyrics. Tell it what you want the song to be about. So, I could just say a love song on a rainy day. And here it generated all the lyrics for you. And you can read through these and make any changes to them before you click submit. Now, if you don't want any lyrics at all, you can click right here where it says instrumental. And this will create an instrumental song without vocals. But I do want vocals for this one. So, I'm going to leave this as is. And then I'll just go ahead and click on submit for this. So, the two versions of my new song are now complete. So, one other tip is you click here on the left where it says create. And this shows you all of the generations that you've ever made. So, here are the two versions that we just produced up here. Let's go ahead and give the first one a listen. — I absolutely love that. I'm always just super impressed what music GPT is able to make. So there's a few things you can do in here now. So if you click on these three dots, you can now click where it says attach to prompt and you can make any changes that you want here. So if I want this to be longer, I can click on extend. remix, which will remix this song with a different style or different lyrics. I can even replace or extend any parts of the song or add vocals to an existing instrumental. So
5:29

Rule 1

if this was just an instrumental track with no lyrics on top of it, I could go ahead and add lyrics on top of it. So, really any changes that you want to make to a song that was produced, you can easily do that inside of Music GBT to get it exactly the way that you want. So, for instance, I'm going to click on replace. Then you can go ahead and describe what changes you want to make. So I can say this part is too slow. Let's speed it up. And then go ahead and click on submit. And we'll have a new song where this part of it is a lot faster. Now we have some great music. The question is, are we allowed to use that music? So when it comes to whether you're allowed to use this music, the first question is whether you have permission to use this music. And one of the great things about Music GPT is that if you are on one of their paid plans, paid users have full commercial rights to all of the generated content that they make. So everything you create is safe for commercial use. That means you own the rights to monetize the music you create. You don't have to worry about content ID or copyright strikes. And this is absolutely essential if you actually want to make music with AI generated music. But that's only half the question here. The other half and the bigger question really is, are you
6:42

History

allowed to monetize music like this on YouTube? Now, before we dive into the specifics of what YouTube allows and doesn't allow, I just want to say upfront that this information I'm giving you is really just more for educational and entertainment purposes. These rules can change at any time, so you want to make sure you do your own research to make sure you're staying on top of any changes that happen. And of course, nothing in this video is a guarantee that you're going to be able to make money with AI generated music. I would never make any sort of promise like that. But anyway, let's talk about YouTube's rules about AI generated music. So, here's what happened. A few months ago, there was this rumor that
7:20

Rule 2

started spreading like wildfire. People were saying that YouTube was going to completely demonetize AI content in a new rules update. But here's the thing, that was never true. YouTube never said they were going to ban AI music. What YouTube did do though was they clarified existing policies to help creators better understand what's allowed and what's not allowed. So none of these are really rule changes, just really more clarifications. So there is an existing rule for a while about how you can't really upload repetitive content or really loweffort just spam content. Basically, what they wanted to avoid was people just producing the same video over and over again with just minor changes or no changes at all, just spammed onto YouTube in hopes that one of those will eventually catch and go viral. So, that's never been allowed on YouTube. And now they're just clarifying that yes, it's the same thing now. You still can't do that even with AI generated music. And the reason this came up is really because it's so easy to produce content with AI, they
8:27

Rule 3

started to see more of this, more people just uploading this loweffort, repetitive content. So this is a pretty easy rule to avoid. Don't just throw things onto YouTube and just produce a ton of loweffort content. Actually put some work into it. Try to make a good video and a good song for that video that you're actually proud of and want to upload. But as long as you do that, it is allowed. If you don't, those channels can get flagged as inauthentic and they won't be eligible for monetization. The second rule also is not a new rule. It's been around for a long time and that involves covers of popular songs. Whether you do the covers yourself or you use AI for that, this is
9:07

Rule 4

another place where people can get in trouble. If you're taking existing copyrighted songs and creating covers of them, whether your own voice or with AI, the monetization usually goes to the original artists, not to you. Plus, if you're mimicking a famous artist's voice with AI, YouTube now lets labels and artists request removal of those videos. So, it's best just not to do AI covers of any songs if you actually want to make some money. The third rule you need to be aware of is that if you upload AI generated content, whether visuals or music, you need to label your content clearly as AI generated. YouTube wants that transparency and we're not seeing that doing that actually hurts any of the performance of the video. So, you might as well just do it. And finally, of course, you must own or have a license for the audio elements that you upload. That's where again music GBT is really handy because if you generate anything with music GBT on one of their paid plans like I mentioned before you do have commercial licensing
10:10

Creating A Video

for that and that is absolutely critical. So in short AI generated music and visuals are welcome on YouTube. They actually say that they encourage it and they like AI generated stuff. They're fine with you using it. But you have to follow the rules. And I think the biggest rule to keep in mind is you don't just want to spam loweffort content and you don't want to do covers. That's where people are getting in trouble. But if you put in some work to create some nice quality music, you're good to go. For instance, we can take one of the lowfi beat songs that we've made here on music GPT and turn it into a video for YouTube. And as long as we follow the rules, that should be allowed. So this one I'm going to go with. This is the one that I did the much longer prompt trying to get it exactly the way that I wanted. So, I'm happy with this one. So, I'm going to go ahead and download the full song. And then I'm going to head on over to Gemini. Gemini is one of my favorite tools for creating images and videos. And there's two different ways you can make some lowfi beat videos. You can either just have some static images with the music playing in the background or you can have a video. It really depends on how much work you want to do. For purposes of this, we are going to create a video. So, I'm going to tell it create a video for this lowfi beat song. And then I'm going to return back here to music GBT. Going to click on these three dots. I'm going to hover over copy and click on lyrics. So, I've now copied the lyrics. And I can go ahead and actually paste those in. So, now it has the full lyrics and it's going to be able to create a video that fits this song. So, here is what it produced. Let's go ahead and watch it. Yeah. And I'm really happy with that. It includes audio over it, but that's okay. We can go ahead and get rid of that. The key with these videos is that you want it to be as static as possible. You don't want a lot of movement because let's say she picks up the coffee mug and then drinks it. Well, it's going to be hard to repeat this video over and over again, which is what you want for lowfi beats. So, we just want a short video without much movement in it. So, this is perfect. I'll go ahead and download this. And then from here, you just have to edit it inside of a video editor to put the two of these together. And you can use any video editor you want. You don't need anything fancy at all. A really popular one that people use is Cap Cut, but honestly, you can even use Canva. I really like Canva, so that's what I'm going to do. I'm just going to go ahead and click on add media. I'm going to go ahead and upload the video. Go ahead and select that. So it's now in the timeline. Then I'll go ahead and upload the audio file. Then go ahead and drag that one in. And you can see that this is the entire song. So just to simply we want to extend this to make sure it's long enough to cover the entire song. So all you have to do is just repeat this right here. So I can just click on duplicate. And then I'm just going to duplicate this over and over again until it fills up the entire song. And so now we can give this a watch. Once I did all that, go ahead and watch this. Oops. One more thing we have to do. We actually have to eliminate the audio for this. So to do that, I'm just going to select all of them by holding down command and selecting all of them. Then I'll click on volume and lower that all the way down. Now if we play it, we only hear the low five beats. And this is the video that's over it. [singing] — So now that is perfect. I can click on the top right here where it says share and actually download this. And we have our first song for our lowfi beat music YouTube channel. And then you just rinse and repeat. Create more music with music GBT. Create more videos with Gemini. Put them all together and get them uploaded to your brand new YouTube channel. So there you have it. That's how to start an AI music channel on YouTube the right way. You now know YouTube's actual policies. You know how to use Music GPT to create properly licensed music. And you know the complete workflow from start to finish. If you want to try Music GPT for yourself, make sure to click that first link down below in the description to get started. And remember, the key to success with this is creating original, highquality content in specific niches. Don't try to spam generic content. Put in the work to create something valuable. Thanks so much for watching and I'll see you in the next video. Bye for now.
