Photographer Reacts To Ariana Grande Photoshoot MISTAKE

Is she has six fingers? Am I seeing this right? How could they miss this? Is that Audrey Hburn? No, it's Ariana Grande. Hi, good morning. Today we're going to be taking a look at Ariana Grande's cover of Vogue Japan. Now, a lot of people online are saying that Ariana is trying to campaign for an upcoming biopic on Audrey Hepburn. She wants that role. So, people were saying that she's trying to dress and do the makeup and everything to look like her specifically in this photo shoot. I'm Jessica. I'm a photographer and I'm going to be going over things like the styling, the hair, makeup, all about these pictures and I'll let you know what I think. Today's video is sponsored by Squarespace. These photographs were taken by Michael Bailey Gates. Let's take a look at the first photo of Ariana. She's laying down in front of this flower art poster. Very beautiful. First thing I have to say, you guys, the light is so beautiful and perfect. The way they set this up is great. I love the angle that this was taken at. Only thing the one leg coming out. I don't know. I would have just had another leg peek out. That's just But that's just me as a photographer having when the models have like one limb coming out and then the other one's not showing. Sometimes it can look a little weird. The styling. I love the fact that they matched the dress to this painting here. This print. Beautiful. Done so well. I do love Ariana's pose. It looks like she woke up from her nap fabulously and then posed for just naturally pose for the camera as she's waking up. That's what it looks like. Hi, good morning. I'm ready. Take the just take the picture. You can see under the eye here it was cleaned up, but it looks great. The colors are fantastic. The toning of this photo is so beautiful. It's a little there's a like hints of green which I love. And I was watching the behind the scenes and I think they shot some of these in film. It looks it looked like there was a film camera. Either way, it's very well done. Love the lighting and you can see the shadow here. So, it looks like the light was up above and then it pointed down at Ariana. Love this one. Let's go to the next. Wow. Okay. Um, this one's not my favorite. This is a portrait style where half the portrait is sort of being covered. The portrait, like her face is being covered by her hand. So much of this photo is her arm, both arms, and it's just she's just covering up so much. So, that's what throws me off about this portrait. I think her makeup looks beautiful. The blush looks great. The re the retouching and editing is done so well. It's so clean. — Wow. So good. You can tell this is professional retouching right here. Very clean. Very well done. Great. It looks great. I love this so much. Wow. This made black and white was per a perfect choice. So beautiful. I love this headpiece with the dress with this uh light post. I was going to say stop light. I had to catch myself for a minute. Okay. You know what I've noticed a lot about photog the trends in photography now? It's photographers showing the lighting equipment and lighting setups. It's not like zoomed in like this where you don't see what's going on. It's a zoomed out more. It shows more of the behind the scenes which includes again the wires coming out of the machines and the like this these things here the draping of the curtain with the backdrop that you normally wouldn't see but now it they're showing it which I actually really love. I think it gives a more raw approach to photography. Only thing I will say is this hand right here. If I were posing her, I would just tell her maybe move this hand from here to like here just to feel like that's still covering. So, just to show off more of the shape of this dress. But, you know, I actually don't even mind it. I love her pose in this one. I think it's cute. And I love that this is black and white. It's sharp. It's beautiful. The retouching is so clean. It's great. I love this. the styling first my first thought was grandma. That's to be honest, but I think I Yeah, I think because there's a lot of florals going on here. Maybe the earrings were that maybe that is also contributing to the grandma vibe of this the big earrings. So, I grandma this one is definitely grandma inspired. The makeup is nice, but I feel like we

saw it for the other photo shoots that she's done. I would have liked to have seen something different. But I mean, it looks good. She looks good. The bang is reminiscent of Audrey Hepern for sure. Was this look inspired? Would Audrey Hepern wear this? I don't know. The retouching is so clean. You can tell this is professional retouching. They did a wonderful job with this image. really great. It looks very natural, too. It doesn't look like they left in the smile lines here. A little bit of that. You can see the under eye color here. This one's not my favorite picture. I feel like Ariana looks like she has a blank expression. Had she just went like, why do I feel like I'm This is very like America's Next Top Model. I was going to be like, "Do one of these. " But just a little bit more expression, like kind of even like a facial expression, which she's good at because she's an actress. So, I'm I would have expected something a little bit more than just a more blank stare. All she needed was a tray of cookies in this shot for the This would have fit the It could have been a cute rich grandma moment. She's baking cookies for the soccer team, her granddaughter's soccer team that she's donating $100,000 to [cheering] and raising. They have a gala every year to um to raise money for scholarships. When I saw this, I definitely thought Audrey Hepern inspired the hair, the this something about and the tiara, too. And then the bow with this blouse definitely is reminding me of Audrey Heppern. Is she Is this the campaign for the role? Does she want it? Are we going to see her have a British accent? This photo kind of confirms it for me. The styling in this kind of feels random. Tiara with this blouse. The retouching is so Did I already said that 17 times, but it's so good. The editing, the lighting is beautiful. This portrait is beautiful. Again, you know, the one thing is missing from this is it's just a blank expression. I want to see a little bit more some an expression of some kind. If she can cry in the Wicked movie about her friend be like being in love with the guy that was about to marry her that she wanted to marry and then she finds out and then she get that she's sad over that. Be sad in the studio when Alphaba did that to you. A Audrey almost said Audrey. Oh my god. We see the flower print yet again. It's been used in one, two photos already, but I love that they used it in different ways. Here she's to the side of it, and here they have it more as a backdrop. The tiara for me in this photo is so random. It just comes out of nowhere. It's a styling choice. It's like founding father's attire. It's a Audrey Heburn and founding fathers collaboration outfit. this whatever this is they George Washington might wear this you know when he has to write the constitution part three he's probably maybe he'll wear this I don't know I wasn't there this photo is I actually really love it and I love this headpiece so much I think it looks incredible on her and I love the color and I love that this is pink and her outfit is white it's not it's very it seems very balanced to me which I love and I really like the backdrop. Whatever is going on here, the only thing I would have done differently is maybe not cropped at her hand. Maybe I would have just cropped it in like this. Or if I'm going to shoot something like this, I would have just backed up a little bit just to include her hand. The lighting has consistently been beautiful and it works for this photo shoot. So, well done to the photographer. I don't even mind the dress looking like it's a dehydrated balloon. Deflated balloon. That's okay. It works. She's making it work here. Little bit more expression in this picture. Alhamdulillah. Okay, thank you. Let's go to the next one. It looks a little similar to this one. I love the background in this. I so good. Whatever this gradient and then solid. I love it. It works great and I think it's very interesting and it it's such a great picture. I think I like her expression better in this one versus this cover. What do you guys think? I'm going to guess and say this was shot on film. Definitely looks like film colors. And again, I did see in the BTS there was a film camera on a tripod. So, could be film that's responsible for

these very beautiful colors that we're seeing. The vibrant beautiful tones. This one, it's a like a rain jacket sort of look. I don't even m I love can I just say I love again showing this behind the scenes of the photo the equipment we have like the seastands the sandbags all of that the backdrop I love that it looks such a good picture I love how she's looking off to the side and the angle that this was shot at I think it's great and see the retouching has been done on her legs here very clean we zoom in they left a few lines here and shadows which just helps it look more natural and the lighting is so beautiful. The colors are good. I mean, wow. They did a great The photographer did an incredible job. The styling, I don't know if I like the styling on her. It's not for everyone. It kind of looks like a bucket. She's wear It looks like she's wearing a bucket hat jacket. Looks like she's going to go collect rain water. It looks a little preschool for some reason. Maybe it's the hat that's a little I don't know. I kind of like it cropped in like this. Like cropped in like that. Okay. Cute. She looks amazing, by the way. The makeup looks so good on her here. The outfit is a little weird to me. I don't know why she wants to go in this direction with the styling, but it's definitely giving editorial. It definitely looks editorial. So far, grandma/preschool vibes. I love this blue and the head. These head pieces. Oh my god. So stunning. So beautiful. Her expression in this is too blank. It's kind of like she's waiting. It's like a light test sort of. Okay. Is it good? Can I start posing now? That's the only thing I think that's it. The outfit is stunning in this. The headpiece is great. But then Ariana's just kind of like this. Had she just given a little bit more like more exaggerated? Maybe it's like too blank of an expression in a lot of these pictures. As an actress, I kind of expected her to have a more of a range of expression. It looks like you could wear this on a plane. It would be really comfy. You know, the neck support. That's what it looks like. It looks great. And then it has a built-in blanket. I would buy this for my next flight. Really? I would. And you can look fabulous. Free upgrades. Can I Can you upgrade me to the what is it? Econ economy plus premium select comfort. See, that's what they're going to start doing now for all these flights. Don't even get me started on that. Now they have comfort. Then premium select comfort plus economy plus basic economy. Main economy. The bathroom. Just give me an option to be in the bathroom at this point. colors. Also, this yellow backdrop goes so well with the blue and the green headpiece. I think the colors were done very well in this photo. Okay. I don't know why it looks like a you went to pick your kid up from school and it was raining and that's what they're like, "Mom, I'm right. " Like, I'm right here. Leave me a second. I'm talking to the teacher. I forgot my homework. This outfit is so weird to me. Whatever this I'm not in the right tax bracket to appreciate this whatever this is. This outfit. She's wearing this hat here. It looks like a Girl Scouts outfit. She's the mom of the Girl Scouts. She's taking the them to go sell the cookies. She's like, "Okay, girls. Come on. " True Beverly Hills. Have you guys ever watched that movie? She could be the mom of that group. So, this is the same outfit they had her in for this one, but then they just changed the shoes. So, she was wearing these in the first look and then these ones in the second. You should have just changed this whatever this is instead of the shoes. That's what I think it's, you know, it's the hat that's throwing me off. It does it's giving uh daycare. It does remind me of daycare for some I don't know why there's a lot of hats and statement pieces so far for the looks. This has to be my least favorite of dress container. So this photo looks like it was taken in conjunction conjunction junction. What's your function? And I like it a lot more than this one. So yeah, this one's way nicer in terms of the posing. I mean, the lighting again and the photo quality consistently good in these pictures. I've noticed that she's been wearing this style of nail for a while. I think

she even wore it in the Wicked movie. I just I want to see something different. I think for these photo shoots, it still feels like she's holding on to the like this makeup style and the nails and the hair. I want to just see something different for these shoots. Some like different hairstyle, different makeup look. I think she would have looked great in something that she's that she doesn't normally wear. She hasn't worn in the last few years cuz it seems like it's very much the same sort of makeup and look, her hair, the bangs, and all of these. Like if I just go through these, it's very much the same for every photo. And then we have this one, which I believe is the last photo. There's a headpiece in almost every shot, but I don't even mind it. I love the head pieces that they use. The pink one, not that one. Not even going to try to include that one. I'm like, let's please let's go past this one. This uh bucket hat preschool disaster. I love this photo of Ariana with the sunglasses. And I like that we can see the camera here. And I believe that is a film camera from what I saw in the behind the scenes videos. This is he the photographer. He's giving a little knot to himself, which I think is great. I think this is one of the strongest photos. I love this headpiece with her hair and the sunglasses. The dress. I like that it's in black and white. People online pointed something out about this picture. If you zoom in here to her fingers, they're saying this looks very weird right here that they think it's AI. So, wait. One, two, three, four, five. She has six fingers. Am I correing this right? Did they add a second finger? Is this right? How could they miss this? Did they forget? They probably just forgot to retouch this out or edit that out. Did they replace her hand in this photo? Wait a second. Something is not right about this. How could they have missed this? What baffles me is that the retouching, I'm telling you, I think it's so well done. The editing has been great. Very professional.
