Most people achieve jack in life, and it's not because of circumstances, your mommy or daddy issues, where you were born, or cuz your ex said you're fat and you're ugly. It's because you're not following a process that actually works. Hey guys, Alex Hein over at Modern Health Monk, author of the book Milk the Pigeon, a field guide for anyone lost in their 20s, or 30s, or 40s. So, let's jump in. Why haven't I achieved my goals in the past? Is the most powerful question if you're here watching this video. Time has elapsed, other people have achieved goals in those time periods. So, what is it? I would argue it has nothing to do with being smart, special, nothing to do with your resources, but comes down to strategy. The problem is we have a delusion about how achievement actually happens in life. Because what happens is that we're 20, or we're 30, or we're 40, we think that some things will just naturally happen. Hate to break it to you, if you don't plan and actively steer your life, most of those goals will never happen. So, how do you actually change your life in general? It all comes down to your daily schedule. If you guys haven't read my first book, Master the Day, it's all about this idea. If you want to write a book, the way you write a book is not by putting a book on your vision board, it's you allocate 90 minutes a day to writing a thousand words. If you want to find love, the goal isn't to like do some love potion visualization, it's to actually meet more people and ask out more people. If you want to build a business for YouTube, you have to upload videos weekly and learn how to build a business. So, there is no real romantic way to reinvent or improve your life or achieve your goals. There's a specific process, and it starts with your daily calendar. Let me show you exactly what I mean. So, how do we go from this life of killing the fantasy that all of these mysterious events will be lined up by some divine being, and your life will just work out. It usually does not, FYI, having coached lots of people through all of these age ranges, to actually making it happen. The big difference is like let's say for example, you want to start a side hustle. And inevitably, let's say you're 25, you're like, man, working for a boss sucks. I hate having a boss. You have a fantasy of working for yourself. So, you're 25, 26 creeps along, 27, 28, and you're like, all right, this is not happening. The reality is that there's a disconnect between how you really change your life, which is how you spend your days, and what people think is the process that actually happens. So, for example, if you want to build a side hustle, like the way I did it as a YouTuber was this is a calendar, and let's say this is like Monday, right? Yeah, 9, 10, 11, 12, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. The problem is this fantasy almost never shows up in your schedule, which is the difference between building the life you want and not building life you want. So, what my schedule looked like when I was trying to build my side hustle for 3 years, 3 months, and 10 days, I worked 9:00 to 5:00. This is all work. And then, 6:30 to 7:30 was gym. And then, 7:30, or 7:00 to 10:00 was business in a cafe. And I actually changed my daily schedule, my calendar on my iPhone, to actually reflect this. So, literally every single day, I saw this. It was like 9:00 to 5:00, then it was like gym, get a second wind with that energy, and then it was business in a cafe. And what I found is the easiest way to coach people through the delusion that my life is just going to work out, again, fantasy thinking, little mysterious events in my 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s will magically lead to my dream life. It doesn't. It comes because you're constantly steering the ship and course correcting. And I found that the secret is if your number one goal is build that side hustle, you find a time on your schedule, you put it in your calendar, and you actually live in alignment with that calendar. You go from some fantasy vision about the future to daily rituals that are likely to change your life. And when you see it on your schedule every day, you're a lot more likely to make it happen. Now, I want to leave you with two final things here that will truly make a big difference. In my book, Master the Day, the number one thing we talked about was the idea of going from goals to daily rituals. If all you do for the next 90 days is you write out your number one goal, get a raise and make $80,000 per year instead of 50,000, you turn that goal into a daily process, you will already achieve more than 99% of people. If you're trying to get a 20,000, 30,000 dollar raise in a new job, the daily process might look like I'm looking for new jobs, and for 90 days I'm going to massively then ask for a raise. Again, we have a fantasy. I'm just going to do little things at my current job, maybe they're going to do some raises this year, and then some new person who just was crushing it gets the raise you've been waiting on for 5 years. If all you do is replace your vision of the goal with a daily ritual that is most likely to make that happen, and you look at it every day, and you do it for like an hour or 90 minutes, you are likely to achieve your goals more than anyone else will. Another way to think about this is process goals versus outcome goals. If

you want to be a, you know, star trophy winning athlete in high school, what's the best way to do that? You don't need to read a book, do a vision board. All you need to do is do the right kind of training every day. That's the process. If you want to be an author, the process is writing every single day. If you want to be a creator, the process is putting out content daily or weekly, and then funneling it into your business. All of the goals and the dreams you want in life come down to a process. But we're so obsessed with the outcome that we're divorced from the reality of the process that actually makes those goals happen. Think about your number, let's say your top three goals, and just write down, if I had to dedicate 90 minutes per day to this goal, what would that process actually look like? If you just do that, you will achieve more than the vast majority of people do in their entire lives, because you'll have been given the download from the heavens about how goals, your most difficult goals, your most complex and long goals, are actually achieved. Because behind every goal you want to see is a process that you don't see. So, if you can focus the process instead of the outcome, you will naturally reach many of those things. The problem is for so many of us, what actually is the process? What is the playbook? What is the actual strategy for making these things happen? Well, I've actually put together a 12-step guide for reinventing yourself below this video. If you're lost in a quarter or a midlife crisis, you're lost, you're directionless, you're like, is this honestly all there is? Like I want to reinvent myself, I want to design the next chapter to be incredible, I don't know what to do. Go to modernhealthmonk. com/reinvent. Put together this great guide, how to reinvent yourself, the 12-step process in the next 90 days. It's my best material that I've used based on my book, Milk the Pigeon. Now, inevitably, if you're driven about reinventing yourself or improving your life, wouldn't you want to know if there's a process to achieve more in the next 30 or 90 days than you did all last year? Well, I actually shot a video on this exact thing right up here. How to achieve more in the next month than you did all last year.
