all right guys so it is finally my turn i quit my job as a data scientist at meta previously known as facebook i don't know how much of a surprise this is this comes to many of you guys i feel like it was kind of an open secret i was a data scientist that worked on the arvr side i'm sure you've heard about some of the products like oculus virtual reality goggles um there's portal which is a calling device and there's also the ar glasses that came out recently a lot of my work was figuring out where we should be investing our money doing a lot of forecasting as well as designing and running experiments so that was my job on paper but in reality i gotta say it was really hard so after graduating you know i thought i knew things but then i started working and realized that i absolutely did not know anything it felt like i was drinking from a fire hose the entire time but i really do cherish that experience because i learned so much in such a short period of time um i learned obviously a lot more about how to use data science from an industry perspective and another really big thing is how to work with other functions and how to work towards really big visions like the whole organization is about you know the metaverse it's about virtual reality it's about the next evolution the next platform um and it was just like huge dreams and huge revisions and our job was to make that a reality while that was going on as working as a data scientist at the same time i started my youtube channel i believe i actually one week prior to me starting my job so i was consistently making videos along the way as well and little by little you guys started joining me the channel grew really slowly in the beginning and then slowly started picking up momentum we started a discord community so that community started to thrive as well and it kind of took on a life on its own so everything was going along pretty much in parallel however honestly as the channel got bigger and also my responsibilities at work started picking up it got like harder and harder to keep up you know um so that's when in i believe march of 2021 so it's actually been more than a year now i started doing the study with me live streams this was to hold myself accountable making sure that i'm keeping up with the stuff studying youtube channel and the community that really helped a lot making sure that i was consistent throughout the rest of the year and then it was around june-ish i decided i wanted to do something new at meta so then i transferred to the instagram creator monetization integrity team which is basically catching bad creators and bad content so for those of you who are always wondering like tina why do you not have as much of an instagram presence that is like potential conflict of interest anyway so i kept on doing these two things in parallel as the youtube channel kept on growing and my responsibilities as a data scientist kept on increasing as well because i was becoming more senior as time went up alas there came a time in which i could no longer do both i tried like i really tried but it just came to a point where it was not sustainable anymore my entire youtube journey which is almost two years now i had one single goal and that goal was to post one video per week which sometimes i did not manage but i've been pretty consistent throughout the almost two years but towards the end i definitely started slipping i started slipping in terms of my work and the consistency and the quality of the videos and i realized that was when i had to make a decision i could double down and focus on my data science career and see the youtube stuff as more of a hobby or i could dive head in and really commit to youtube and to the business so since you're watching this video i'm sure that you know that i quit my job i decided to quit my job and i gotta say like let me tell you it's not it was not an easy choice it really wasn't i spent a lot of time weighing the factors and in some ways like i feel like in my heart i guess i always knew there's gonna come a time in which i would have to choose but i just kept on you know pushing that aside just really going like oh like i'll figure it out like i'll somehow be able to do both but yeah i was not able to do that anymore so i finally had to make that choice and it was so terrifying and to be honest i am still so terrified right now as well and sometimes like i wake up and i'm just like damn i guess i quit my job wow but yeah it's um so i did it so to elaborate a little bit more about why i did it was because i made this vision board on my 26th birthday this was back in november and here's the vision that i had for myself so i've shared parts of this before with you guys um but the part that really just made me realize that i had to make that step was the part where i said i am fully remote and have multiple streams of income mostly online that is at least 50 passive um which allows me to spontaneously travel different places and focus on what i find the most impactful work without worrying about

making ends meet i also have a fully staffed team that i trust to keep the business running and i focus on learning and creating content as you can see my career track working as a data science in tech was not going to lead me towards this vision um while if i were to focus on youtube and the business around youtube that does lead towards this vision so it makes sense for me to take that leap what i want to do is to create content connect with people build a community and then work towards my goal of financial freedom time freedom location freedom and all of that leading to the intellectual freedom which is doing what i find the most meaningful at any time without worrying about making ends meet so that is my vision and the reason why i made that leap and i quit my job i want to stop here and just say thank you guys so much for supporting me for just walking alongside me step by step and giving me that courage as well to make this decision and pursue this vision that i have over here i genuinely can say that i could not have done this without you guys so i really sincerely want to say thank you looking forward now that i quit i want to give you guys an idea of how i'm envisioning moving forward i put a lot of thought into this and my vision for this business is for it to not just be youtube i want this to be a content and community focused business with the mission of changing people's lives now specifically i did write a vision for this i want this to be a place where ambitious people find resources hope and community to continuously and consistently self-study and work towards their own visions to live more fulfilling lives it is a lot and it is a very lofty vision i know this but you know what's the point of having a vision if it doesn't encompass something much greater i want to break this down a little bit as well so notice how i said it's consistent and continuous self-studying and that's because for me self-studying has really been my keystone habit it's the habit that has changed everything for me which i won't talk about that much now but i made a video over here talking about what a keystone habit is so imagine over here you have your visions and your dreams and things you want to accomplish right and then over here is your productivity your implementation your methods in order to be better at getting stuff done so the thing is these two things both have to exist if you just have dreams and you just have visions without productivity you're never going to fulfill them they're always going to be dreams where on the other side if you just have productivity you become very efficient but what are you working towards now consistent self learning is my keystone habit and i think it's what bridges that gap of your vision and your dreams and productivity and implementation by consistently self learning and just taking that knowledge taking those skills and incorporating that into your knowledge bank the way that you view the world that is gonna shape and unlock your dreams and your visions because oftentimes we don't really even know what it is that we want right like you often depend on what society tells you or what your parents tell you is what it is that you want but it takes time and effort and learning new things in order to shape that for yourself to create a vision that you want to work towards and also by consistently learning and becoming more productive being better at getting things done more quickly and working smarter you start applying the things that you're learning and slowly changing your dreams and your vision into a reality i think the misconception that a lot of people have is that they view success as an event that happens but really success is just small events that are occurring throughout an entire process and that's why i emphasize so much on this consistent self-learning because that is the journey that is the thing that's going to be unlocking all of these successful events that will ultimately lead towards your dream life your dream vision so in a practical sense this is what it's gonna look like for me the first one is nothing new i'm gonna keep consistently making at least one video a week on youtube with a focus on self-learning productivity and still some coding and data science because in my mind learning how to code is still one of the best skills i can possibly pick up because it unlocks so many opportunities for you and freedom if that is something that you're interested in as well like i am i also recently started a newsletter which i'll be putting a lot of focus on as well the newsletter is very different content than what i post on youtube it's a lot more personal it's about the books that i'm reading about the things that i'm learning the things i'm implementing in my life right now it's basically like a documentation of that self-learning journey that journey towards hopefully leads to success so if that's something that you're interested in following along do check out the link over here also linked in description couple other things i want to focus on the first one is the discord community so that community has grown a lot since we first started we're at around 9000 members right now so one of my biggest goals is to strengthen that community trying to make it a place where people feel comfortable sharing with each other going through that journey together and also having more events and more ways for people to engage with each other the other thing i want to invest in is developing a course program that will of course also have its own community attached to it which will help people accomplish that vision that we just talked about providing those resources the hope and the community to consistently self-learn apply those things and work towards

their own visions in life i know that it kind of sounds a little bit vague right now and that's because i'm still thinking through what i envision it to look like and how it is people can derive value from it so do stay tuned though and i'll be sharing more information especially on a newsletter my goal is to be able to launch a beta version like a small group of people to test things out by fall of this year so yes this is my vision and how i plan to achieve it i'm also going to keep live streaming keep learning myself applying the things that i'm learning and keep struggling along the journey as well as those of you who go to my study with tina live streams you have seen me struggle time and again so that's the real that's real right that's realistic and i'm gonna keep showing that publicly because i think it's really important to emphasize what that journey looks like and one more thing i want to mention i won't be doing this alone of course thank you to ecstasy who we have to help on the discord side now and also ibrahim and maddie who've been working with me for a while now in order to lay the foundations of this business and grow it again thank you guys so much for being a part of this i sincerely mean this thank you so much for supporting me along the way i honestly could not have been able to do this without you i am very excited and also deathly afraid but let's do this shall we i will see you guys in the next video we're live stream
