Augment Agent: RIP Cursor! NEW Agentic AI IDE Generates Full-Stack Apps! (Opensource)

Just 4 days ago, I made a video on Augment Code's brand new augment agent, and it's honestly one of the most exciting tools in Aentic AI. This is a free open-source AI IDE that acts like a fullon software engineer, which is where it can automate your code, navigate your files, run a test, as well as everything else that a software developer would do. You can use it directly within your IDEs like VS Code or Jet Brains through their extension which is also free. Although keep in mind it is rate limited at the moment. So what exactly is augment agent? Well in short it's the number one open- source agent on the Swaybench verified test which is scoring a 65. 4 percentage on its success rate which is the highest open-source result to date. It does this by combining the claude 3. 7 sonnet as the main reasoning engine with open AI's 01 model for smart assembling. Essentially, this gives you a serious alternative to tools like Windserves Cascade and Cursor Composer, but with the added bonus of being open- source and ready to plug directly within your dev setup. Now, to get started guys, you can head over to Augment Codes website and you can install it for whatever ID like Jetrains or VS Code as an extension. Now you will need to create an account which is completely for free and then you can go ahead and download the extension for whatever IDE you would like. So in this case I'm going to download it for VS Code. So then I'm going to open it up within that IDE and you can obviously install VS Code completely for free and then you can go ahead and install the latest update and then you should be able to access it on the leftand panel and there we go. Now you can go ahead and work with augment agent. Now, just to give you some sort of information, this is completely free at the moment, which means you are limited to 50 agent requests, which is still decent. You get 3,000 chat messages, which is a lot, and you get unlimited completions, unlimited instructions, unlimited next edits, as well as community support, which I don't think you will need. But overall, you get a good grasp of all the different AI features that Augment Code provides. Obviously, if you want more unlimited features, you can go forward with the developer plan. But in this case, if you're beginning and starting off with Augment Code, you want to go over and use the community free plan. So, go ahead and create your project. And then you're going to be sent over to Augment Code's interface. This is essentially the chat interface. And you have three different options in which you can select the chat mode, which is where you can talk to Augment up to 3,000 times a month for free. Then you have the agent mode which is 50 requests per month. Now you also have it so that you can select auto run all tools. So it will autonomously run through all the commands. But I suggest you run it on agent mode. So what you can now do is request it to do anything. You can ask it create me a simple landing page for my YouTube channel. And then you can go ahead and send this in. Now you also have the ability to attach files and then add particular folders or files. And this will go ahead and create necessary things and files that are essential for my request to be functional. So let's see if this is capable of generating a decent front end for this landing page. Also, if you want to see all the file changes that are being made, you can head over to your main workspace and then you'll see all the assets that are being edited and coded out live in action. And there we go. We have our landing page fully coded out with augment agent. And this was all thanks to augment agent. It was able to execute all these commands on its own. It was able to create and edit all of these files, style it with the two models, the 01 as well as cloud 3. 7 sonnet. And with its agent capabilities, it was able to take my request and do a pretty decent job. Now, let's take a step further and make this a little bit even better where we can maybe work on a different prompt that would be a little bit more difficult for the AI to actually complete. Next up, we're going to do something a bit more complicated. We're going to create a stock market app that lets me track investments, make it look modern, and have it so that there's an AI within the chat that lets me talk with my investments, get a better idea when to buy and sell, and also having it so that I can understand the ratios and whatnot. So, let's see what we're capable of doing. And I have actually set this on the autonomous agent mode. So, it's going to go ahead and execute all these commands autonomously. So, I've got it to generate this beautiful invest track app. And this is something that lets me track all my investments from Apple all the way to Google. You have the ability to visualize everything. And then the best part is you have this chatbot that I had developed with the augment agent so that you can go ahead and chat with anything meaning your investments. Now, it's not linked to an AI, but you can easily link

it up with any of these providers like OpenAI or Entropic so that you can then have it so that there's a functional AI chatbot within the app that you just created. Now overall I definitely think that this agent mode is going to be quite revolutionary and essentially it's going to be able to use the gentic capabilities especially its performance on the sway bench to elevate your coding experience cuz this is the number one ranked uh sway agent that's available meaning that it's going to be able to tackle harder problems better with the combination of these two models. So definitely give this a try. It's free right now. You have 50 requests. Obviously, it's not a lot, but you do get a good uh I would say generation from just 50. You also have 3,000 requests. So, I guess there's a lot of free ways for you to build anything. And this is why I say that if you're not doing anything right now because there's a price tag on things, you have a lot of free options that you should utilize right now to get the best out of it cuz you have augment code, then you have client and so many other options that can easily help you generate anything with code.
