Hey, so all of you guys tagged me in this video, so I will definitely talk about some ways to help this daughter help her mother. So, let's talk about it. Ethan, and I'm a diabetes outpatient educator, and so this happens all the time when it comes to diabetes medications because some of them can be extremely expensive. And several times I have had patients just completely stop their medications because they could not afford them and then they would not tell me. So, this is what we need to do. I don't know specifically what the medication is but just to show you for example when it comes to like GLP1 medications so like your ompic your trulity there are so many different options and so insuranceances they may cover only like one or two of these so you need to make sure which one specifically and often times they will change what they cover usually without like letting the patient even know or it could have been like an SGLT2 inhibitor so thinking of like your jardian your farcea and as you can see there are several options as well so maybe one of those options change which is no longer covered. Then when we get to insulin, as you can see, this list is enormous and so many times I would have patients tell me that their insulin is no longer covered and they needed to be switched on to a different brand or a different generic. And this list is honestly very overwhelming for someone who may not understand how different insulins work because there are so many different types. And another thing as well which I always recommend looking into is patient assistance programs. If you meet certain income criteria, you could possibly be getting the medication for free with these patient assistance programs. And drug manufacturers have it for all different types of medications. So, I hope this helps your mom. And unfortunately, this is something that so commonly happens to patients with diabetes.
