Can someone tell me why drive-thru takes forever, but when it's my turn, they get me done in 1 minute? — The purpose of a pharmacy drive-thru is for convenience, not for speed. I think because in America, when we think of drive-thrus, we think of like fast food restaurants, but a pharmacy is not the same as McDonald's. And yes, while for you, it'll just be like a minute, which you're probably like one of our favorite customers cuz you'll just be in and out. However, for some people, they're not able to actually go into the pharmacy, so they have to do everything through the drive-thru. And I know that there's going to be people in the comments being like, "Well, then why don't they just have two lanes in the drive-thru then? One for the people that are slow and the just picking up? " Because trust me, at least 50% of the time, it is never that they're just picking something up and leaving. You would be surprised. When people come up to pick up their medication, they already, you know, have been notified what the price of the medication is, and I'll be like, "Hi, like this medication is a dollar. " And they'll be like, "Well, can you run it through a coupon card I got from the doctor's office? " And I'd always be like, "Well, we ran it through your insurance, and your insurance brought it down from like 300 and something dollars to a dollar, so I don't think a coupon is going to do that. " And then they go, "Well, can you try it anyways? " Which like honestly, I feel like some of these people need to actually read the coupon cuz usually it says you can get up to 70% off, and you know, just simple math is like, you know, it is not going to be less than what it is already through your insurance. Now what was supposed to be like a 1-minute pick up is now going to be like a 5-to-10-minute me just trying out every coupon that they give me. But think about it, when people go to their doctor's office, they're not complaining that much that they have to wait for their doctor to see other patients, especially, you know, they may be seeing more complicated patients before that. I just feel like in the US, everything has to be like fast fast but like that is just not the reality when it comes to health care.
