God's Solution to Child Sacrifice Was MORE Child Sacrifice

The little girls that have not slept with a man, take them for yourself. Does this sound like benevolence to you? When God commanded the execution of those little boys, — that is not what's happening. And okay, that is not what was happening. That was militaristic hyperbole in terms of that language. You might not believe that the conquest of Canaan ever happened. You're very free to believe that. Sure, you do. It's written in the book. Let's let's go with it. Right. — But why are you being vague? Like, do you believe the conquest happened? — I said, "Sure. Let's go with Sure. Yes. Right. So within the book, it is the other cultures that are the infanticidal ones. And it is the Israelites who are going in to prosecute what within religious terms, within the Bible's terms, is a just war. These people were wicked and they were doing bad things. For instance, they were practicing child sacrifice. So God sits there and goes, "I got a really good idea. They are murdering their children. That's bad. So I'm going to command my people to go into their village and murder their children. " — Yeah, but that's not what's happened. — Yes, it is. What he says is you go in there, you don't just kill the adults that have done wicked things, do you? No, he says explicitly, take the little boys and kill them. And this is where it gets particularly gross.
