an e-commerce business is one of the best ways to make money online and this video is going to be your guide to show you the simplest way I found to build one of your own I was personally able to leave my full-time job five years ago because my first e-commerce business did over a million dollars in sales so if you want your own e-commerce business but you really don't know where to start with all this then this is the video for you because I'm going to show you all the first steps that you need and I'll tell you all the pitfalls and obstacles to avoid hey what's up everyone if you're new here please subscribe to the channel That way you get all my videos on how to build successful eCommerce stores that's all I talk about here on my channel so do be sure that you subscribe to the channel now when I started my first online business I had made a lot of mistakes in fact if I had known everything that I'm going to show you in this video I could have made a lot more money because I would have avoided a lot of mistakes so I'm going to go over with you a few things that I wish I'd known when I got started so that you can avoid a lot of the same mistakes yourself now that you're getting started I have a few really important points to cover so please make sure you watch everything in this video so you don't miss any of it

Intro

first thing you need to realize is that
most people tend to overthink this whole e-commerce thing and they kind of put it on a pedestal and this is definitely what I did before I got started you see I kind of thought that building an online business it would be really complicated and really hard and that you'd have to be like someone special in order to make it work but e-commerce it's actually really simple for example think of like a garage sale right or yard sale whatever you want to call it you have a bunch of stuff around the house that you don't want anymore so you put it out in your front lawn and you sell it to your neighbors that is what we call Commerce it's the exchange of goods or stuff for money but what if instead of selling it on your front lawn you just listed it for sale on eBay or Amazon that would be the exact same thing but online that is one type of e-commerce the important thing to realize here is that anyone can do this anyone can sell stuff online and anyone can build an e-commerce business if you follow what I'm going to show you in
this video now that brings me to my next point I want to share with you which is where you should be building your eCommerce store there are plenty of places to sell physical products online we have Amazon eBay Shopify woocommerce Etsy offer up Facebook Marketplace Craigslist Makari next door Poshmark eclutter Walmart marketplace Bonanza let go foreign but some of these are definitely easier than others broadly speaking there are two types of places to sell stuff online the first type are websites like Shopify that allow you to create your own website that you own and it's under your own domain name the benefit here is that you can build your own brand and have full control over it however the big problem here is that no one knows who you are or who your brand is you'll have to pay for ads to get people to actually find your website and hopefully buy from you and that can make it very expensive very hard and that brings us to the second place you can sell stuff online which are marketplaces like eBay Amazon and Facebook Marketplace while you do have to pay a fee to sell on these marketplaces and you have to follow their rules it's a lot easier than building your own website because there's already a ton of customers there shopping on these marketplaces so you don't have to pay for ads to get people to visit your website you don't have to try to get them to think that it's safe for them to buy from you and to kind of gain their trust they're already there and they already trust those marketplaces you just have to go there and list up your own items for sale now in my opinion any beginner who wants to start an e-commerce business should really start on a Marketplace and specifically you should be looking at eBay or Facebook Marketplace those two sites in my opinion tend to be the most beginner friendly and they don't have a lot of the strict rules and complications that sites like Amazon have plus there are a lot of people shopping on these marketplaces and they're ready to buy items from you just have to list them up for sale now if you're looking for the absolute simplest place to start with the lowest fees then I would specifically take a really good look at Facebook Marketplace it's still pretty new so there aren't a ton of sellers on there like there are on Amazon for instance but it's definitely the easiest platform to master and the fees on it are way cheaper than eBay and especially Amazon now they're all good choices but for beginners I'd really say that Facebook Marketplace is my number one pick right now followed really closely by eBay the
next thing you have to decide is what your business model is going to be e-commerce is actually a very broad umbrella term there are many different ways to sell physical products online for instance you could drive around to garage sales buy items and then resell them on Facebook Marketplace at the extreme other end you could buy a warehouse import items from wholesale suppliers overseas and then sell those items on Amazon both of those models are e-commerce but obviously they're much different but what I want to share with you today is actually what I found

Business model

to be one of the simplest ways for
beginners to break into this world of e-commerce and that's with something called Drop Shipping is a very simple business model because it allows you to sell physical products online without holding any inventory let me jump into my computer and I'll show you an example here I am on Facebook Marketplace and Facebook Marketplace if you've never been here before you can get a huge variety of different items in here so just browsing around here you can see that there's ping pong tables for sale there's dishes there's costumes there's games there's bikes whole bunch of different items now just like with something like Craigslist if I were to buy this bike I can meet up with the person selling it in person hand them cash they hand me that item but Facebook Marketplace also has another feature where you're actually able to ship your items to your customers and that allows us to do Drop Shipping so this is the example I want to show you this is a bookshelf right here see what it looks like it's called the Mainstays 31 inch three shelf bookshelf it's selling for 56 dollars and there's this big buy now button down here at the bottom if I were to click this then I would be able to purchase this item right here on Facebook and the seller would ship me the item directly but all this seller is doing after I buy this item all the seller is going to do is come over here to Walmart buy this exact same item here it is right here pay less for it and during the checkout process instead of shipping it to themselves they're going to ship it directly to me that is what Drop Shipping means it means that this seller took this product listed it for sale on Facebook Marketplace and when someone like me buys it they're going to buy from Walmart and have Walmart ship it directly to me totally hands off and you don't have to handle or touch any inventory at all now as you can imagine this is a very beginner friendly business model because you don't have to spend a ton of money up front on inventory that might never sell instead you sell the product first and then you buy it so there's a lot more room for you to make mistakes it's a lot more beginner friendly and the risk is much lower and that is why I love Drop Shipping so much now Drop Shipping is pretty simple but there's a lot you have to learn and master to be successful with it luckily there are a lot of people out there who have done this already and have already been successful with Drop Shipping which only proves that it does work even better you can copy exactly what they're doing and do the same exact thing actually what I really recommend that you do when you first get started is go on to eBay or go on to Facebook Marketplace and see what successful sellers are doing in fact you can do this and copy their exact same products hey Orlando you made it into the video

Dropshipping

so jumping back into the computer I want
to show you this software that I use that helps us find the best items to sell so specifically what it does is if I find a good seller online I can plug them in right here and it gives me a ton of information about what products they're selling really well that I can then sell myself so for instance here's this pillow right here this single product has sold over 150 times in the past month then we have this fruitcake I guess that is sold 24 times in the past month and this RV anti-freeze that sold 23 times in the past month some of these items quite frankly are kind of weird right like a fruitcake but that is what we're going to be doing as drop shippers they're going to be any random products all we care about is someone else selling this item successfully this software is telling us yes this seller has sold this item dozens of times in the past month and therefore I don't care what the product is I don't care if it's antifreeze or fruit cake or pillow if it's selling successfully I am going to sell it as well and that is exactly what simple software like this can reveal for you this is the exact strategy that I use to hit my first million dollars in sales and it was really the difference between my store that was struggling and one that saw astronomical success when you're starting out you're not going to know what to do so why not copy people who are already highly successful so you could go and find some sellers yourself and copy them or just copy what I do I have a whole strategy I've built to be successful with Drop Shipping I'm not going to get too into that right now because I actually have a free webinar that I did recently that you can still watch where I go over my whole story and my entire strategy if you want that the replay of it check out the first link down below and you can get signed up and into that completely for free whatever
you decide to do whether it's eBay or Facebook Marketplace or Amazon it's important that you just do something to get closer to your goals because at the end of the day your goals are in your hands
