Segment 1 (00:00 - 01:00)

A little educational shout out here. This is my man Patrick performing at a weightlifting meet this past weekend. Now, the significance here is that almost two years ago, Patrick tore his triceps muscle right off the bone in a weightlifting competition during the jerk. And this is his first competition back after that surgery and recovery period. So, the lesson here is that of consistency and patience. The triceps recovery has definitely had its ups and downs. Often whenever we would push things a bit more, it would get cranky. So, it was a lot of adjusting dials to find those sustainable dosages, but we also dealt with other things along the way. Groin, shoulder, knee. In fact, you see that Patrick is doing the power variations here. And that's because he was nursing a groin injury. So, this meet was a qualifier for something bigger. So, we made the decision to hit the numbers we needed and use alternate strategies if needed. So, Patrick never stopped training no matter what we were dealing with during the process. and we were always making progress in some aspect of training, even if we had to be conservative in other aspects. This allowed the minimums to keep rising and for the wins to keep stacking over time. So, if you're in a similar situation or work with athletes who are, just remember, be like Patrick. Well done, my friend.
