Stop Dropshipping on Shopify! (Reaction)

I've been saying for years that if you want to start an e-commerce business Shopify is not the place to do it there are much better places like eBay and Facebook Marketplace but admittedly I don't have a lot of experience selling on Shopify so today I thought I would hear from a YouTuber who has a lot of experience selling on both Shopify and Facebook Marketplace to hear his take on which one is the best e-commerce site for you as a beginner to start selling on well what's going on guys my name is Andre and I'm very excited I watched my very first YouTube videos here on this channel so for those of you who don't know who I am my name is Andre obviously and it's my job and Mission to help you guys quit your nine to five jobs fire your boss and enjoy this amazing beautiful life mostly to this amazing tool called Facebook Marketplace Drop Shipping so I actually count myself with a background in Shopify dropshipping I actually graduated in 2016 with a degree in marketing and business I worked at a variety of digital marketing agencies with e-commerce clients with B2B clients so that kind of helped but I also was a really burnt out at those jobs I did have a lot of deadlines so I just wanted to build something for myself and I wanted to provide good things for my family and I started with Teespring I did run Facebook ads on Teespring then that kind of didn't work out I you'd have a few sales but I was not profitable so I graduated to a Shopify dropshipping I did journals okay that's why I wanted to review this video and give my kind of reaction to it because just like me he started with Shopify but I think he had a lot more experience than I did when I first started I sold on Shopify I built shop by website but admittedly I didn't get very many sales at all which was part of the problem so kind of interested to hear if he had a little bit more success with it than I did of course I did one product stores I did have a few winning products but the main issue with Shopify that I had was number one you are spending a lot of time designing a website from scratch or you kind of have to pay someone money to do all of that for you because if you are new well most likely you don't know how to design High converting Maps now is the case for me I went in there I tried to build the website myself yeah it looked okay but it really didn't look great so even if customers found the website they would look at it and think oh man this looks pretty terrible and I think that's why I really didn't get very many sales at all let's be honest here and issue number two no one knows that your website exists and no one will trust your website and your website is not ranked up anywhere in search it's gonna take time for that to happen if you know if you want to do it that way so most likely you will be paying yeah what he's talking about is there's two ways to kind of get your website found one is to optimize it in a way so

that when people are looking on Google yours shows up higher in the search results that is pretty much impossible these days because there's whole teams of people behind websites that are optimizing for this SEO search engine optimization to get their website higher up in the search results and it's really hard for individuals like us to compete with that so you have to pay for ads which I'm sure is he's going to explain gets to be very expensive paying for Facebook ads or Reddit ads or Google ads whatever ads you're gonna run you have to pay money for that which is my biggest issue with Shopify and issue number two is even if you have a high converting website most likely you have to pay for ads and that's going to eat a lot into your profits so the solution that I have for you guys as I mentioned earlier is actually Facebook Marketplace Drop Shipping believe it or not yes so just kind of put a cap on that I've talked to so many Shopify sellers who have said the same thing they found an amazing product for Shopify it did really well but they really made no money because they were pouring all their money into ads and at the end of the day that really had no profit to show for it and yes I know lots of gurus tell me start with Shopify Drop Shipping start with AliExpress have my customers wait 30 to 60 days for the item to arrive and hope they do not complain they do not charge back they do not restrict my stripe account I should have 5 hundred thousand dollars ready to invest in the Facebook ads yeah that is all fine okay so I love that it's really funny but there's also some really good points in there first most Shopify gurus will tell you to buy your items drop

ship your items from AliExpress which means that they're coming from China now if you're thinking about doing Shopify Drop Shipping I encourage you buy something from AliExpress for yourself

and see what the entire process is like because if you're used to fast and easy deliveries with amazon. com or target. com

or something like that you're gonna see it is much different first it's going to take a long time for the item to be delivered usually around a month or more second the tracking number that you're going to get isn't one that's entirely clear to us where the item is it's first gonna be a tracking number for China then it's going to say something about the import of it and customs and then you're not even really clear where it is the United States wants to get here a lot of times so a lot of problems packed in there with Drop Shipping from AliExpress now as Andre said a lot of gurus on YouTube talk about Shopify Drop Shipping and that's just because for some reason it has a ton of Interest so YouTubers love to talk about it because they know it's going to get them a lot of views meanwhile YouTubers like myself and Andre we're gonna share with you what we're actually doing that actually works even if not a lot of people on YouTube are interested in it you can do and spend all the time and money doing the hardest possible thing especially when you're first starting out but why do it all especially if you are in the United States if you have a U. S bank account and Social Security number which I'm sure most of you guys have so why not start with Facebook Marketplace Drop Shipping because Facebook literally gives you a lot of free organic traffic you don't have to pay for any ads I haven't been paying for any July of 2020 when I was doing that and you know you can literally list as many items as your little heart desires I started in July of 2020 by October of 2020 Facebook scaled to the level where it started paying more than my full-time day job at the digital marketing agency that's awesome it's really cool to see and he makes a really awesome Point here which is that Facebook gives you traffic there's already a ton of customers on Facebook they're shopping on Facebook Marketplace you don't need to try to convince them to come to your website you're going where they already are let's keep it simple let's make this easy and go where the customers already are and I was I'm you know a mid manager I was a paid search lead you can look up my LinkedIn I actually linked my social media profiles and a bunch of other things in the video description that I think you guys will find helpful including our free Discord Channel by the way that you guys will find helpful and that I recommend you should join anyhow if you're in the United States you can see the Facebook Marketplace not only that but also there is a five percent salary fee on personal Marketplace which is actually the lowest selfie out there and if you are Drop Shipping on Commerce manager you can also connect it to your Shopify store or you can create a storefront directly with a Commerce manager and there is an insane amount of free traffic and it orders every single day we average anywhere from 50 to 110 orders with Commerce management we have to keep our items out of stock most of the time so there is that and there are no seller fees on Commerce manager until June of 2022 now if any of you guys can tell me if there is a platform that has no selfies in the United States please do leave a comment below because I have no idea maybe you guys do so do let me know so this is why I think starting with Facebook Marketplace is a must especially if you are a beginner listing takes literally five to ten minutes all you need to do is number one open your Facebook app number two open your Marketplace app number three start listing items from eBay Walmart and Amazon for a profit just do your research that's another awesome point so like we were talking about before AliExpress not a great website to drop ship from but when we're Drop Shipping on Facebook Marketplace we are just drop shipping from like walmart. com homedepot. com places like that based in the United States with fast shipping great customer service so you don't have to wait for the item to come all the way from China to be delivered to the customer it's a lot easier make sure your listings look good pick good quality photos and make sure you guys are putting effort into your listings and you guys will be good to go and I will be definitely making more videos on this topic because I want to make sure that each and every one of you succeeds and enjoys this amazing beautiful life alright so I will definitely then give this video a thumbs up and subscribe to his channel because I think he makes some really good points I love that he realizes how beginner friendly Facebook Marketplace
