Segment 1 (00:00 - 01:00)

Most learning platforms help you learn, but they don't really teach you what to learn for the job you actually want. And that's where a lot of people get stuck. You finish a course, maybe two, and you feel productive. But then you look at real job listings, and it's like 5 years of experience, research, analytics, and stakeholder management skills, and you think, do I even have the right skill set for this? That gap between learning and getting hired, that is the hard part. One update I genuinely like inside the IDF Foundation is their new job board for designers. And what's smart about it is that it isn't just showing you jobs, it's showing you what those jobs actually require in terms of skills. So if I were applying for, let's say, a product designer role, I'd open it up and immediately scan the required skills. This is where it gets practical. Instead of guessing what to learn next, I can literally reverse engineer my learning. And IDF's AI powered recommendations can suggest courses based on the role you're viewing and the skills you've already built so you can close the right gaps even faster. Okay, so let's say I'm strong in wireframing but weak in usability testing. I'd go straight to the relevant course and close that gap intentionally. That's what makes this feel different. It connects the dots between job requirements and the actual skills you're building. And on top of that, there's a global community and local groups. So, you're not just learning alone. You can actually talk to other designers, see what they're applying for, and get feedback. If you're job hunting in UX or trying to switch into design, this is how I would use it. First, pick the role I want. Then, study the skill gaps. Next, take only the courses that move me closer to that job. Way more intentional, way less random learning. And if you're in that season of building your career, that's really what design a life you love is about. If you're currently applying for roles, it's definitely worth checking
