How I turn mentoring calls into useful follow-up with Granola

A designer I was mentoring said something in a call recently about how my product strategy for Design as Course helped them land a new job, which obviously is such a lovely thing to hear. But, it also made me think about how often these moments happen spontaneously in a call and then just disappear into your memory. Because I had Granola running in the background, I didn't need to go searching through a recording or try to remember exactly what they said. Granola listened to the computer audio during the call and turned it into notes and a transcript within seconds of the call ending. Afterwards, I opened Claude and used Granola's MCP connector to search the transcript for the moment where they mentioned how impactful my course has been, and it pulled out the exact quote. Then, I sent that to Senger as a testimonial draft for review. And in that same conversation, I asked Claude to draft an approval email with the Senger review link so the course student could approve it before anything went public. They approved it, and it's now published on my site. I was able to run the entire workflow from Claude using Granola's MCP. The helpful part is that the call doesn't just end and disappear into a note stock. I can pull out the part that mattered and turn it into a meaningful moment on my website.
