$18,000 Profit Dropshipping on eBay! (My Reaction)

so renee is back with another video about ebay drop shipping she tried it for an entire year and finally released a video kind of sharing her entire experience from the entire year-long ebay dropshipping experiment now i'm just so excited to check out this video and see how she's done with it and kind of her reaction to ebay dropshipping for an entire year so let's not waste any more time let's check it out and i will stop periodically and give you my thoughts on what she's saying so here's her video right here this is renee she's formerly known as cupcake trainings rebranded i love it started and when we quit it i'm going to tell you why the total net profit that we made within that period of time i'm going to tell you the amount of hours that we put in to get that net profit so you can kind of see an hourly wage from it i'm going to tell you how many ebay shops that it took to get that and the problems with some of them we got shut down sometimes and it was a whole thing we'll tell you all about the hardships of it so you can decide if it's worth going into i'll tell you where we learn click by click how to set up the whole ebay dropshipping this is why i love renee cause she's so transparent she's giving you like everything and you can make a determination for yourself and she's pointing out that spot again oh you're still looking and ultimately i'll give you my can see how much we made the starting month all the way through when we ended our project and the whole reason that we started ebay dropshipping was it we started it august of 2020 and we ended it august of 2021 and the reason we started it was because of the pandemic and a lot of you came to me yeah this was a time when a lot of people started were suddenly stuck at home and they were looking for some extra income and they wanted something that would just be able to get up and running pretty fast and luckily ebay drop shipping is one of those things that doesn't have like months and months that it takes in order to just get started with it and said our old ways of doing our business model isn't really working so please help us renee and i said let's try all the things on all the make money videos to see if stuff is actually working when we tried started ebay dropshipping i really didn't expect anything to happen i expected it to be a two-week test and then we'd quit i was shocked that we continued for a full year afterwards now i had an ebay shop i tried to sell wedding dresses on ebay i successfully sold wedding veils on ebay a long time ago so my ebay account was probably 13 years old when if you have an old ebay account that you maybe had set up in the past even just to buy stuff and you're not really using it and you're looking to start ebay drop shipping try to find that ebay account because usually that would be a more seasoned account as we call it where just the older ones tend to perform just a little bit better if you have that advantage a lot of times also you'll have higher limits on those accounts as well so if you have them definitely try to find them and definitely try to use them we started this project which really helped us but we built out an additional two ebay drop shipping stores in addition to that one to compare and also see how far we could scale this thing i think for what rene did that's fine to do that because you know she's a youtuber she's looking to experiment and make videos about it but i think for most people generally if you're doing ebay drop shipping just have one store having multiple stores in the beginning is not necessary and it could actually hurt you if ebay sees that you suddenly come onto their platform and open up two or three stores that raises red flags for them they kind of get a little bit nervous even though you are technically allowed to have multiple ebay stores but it's better just to have one then after some time if you want to open up a sec one you're more than fine to do that i'm going to talk about all of those individual shops and kind of what they went through because it was very different having an older account versus the newer accounts and it will affect you if you want to go into this so month number one august 2020 as we were just getting things set up and started we followed a course click by click i loved that it was click by click it was literally click here click here now you have an ebay drop shipping store and this is how you do it from paul lipsky and i have a video that reviews his course down below in the doobly-doo just expand it and the link to that video will be in there so you can see more extensively what that's about but that really helped us to start making money right away so august 2020 we made seven hundred and twenty three dollars and four cents this was on the older store hey that's awesome 700 bucks your first month doing ebay drop shipping awesome congratulations mind that i hired an assistant to work on this for

me full time so she her whole purpose of her job was to work 40 hours a week on ebay drop shipping to see how far we could scale it now i wouldn't necessarily i would say that working 40 hours a week doing ebay drop shipping to get started i don't think that's necessary i think for most people they only need to spend a few hours a week doing that and it can get pretty similar results i understand renee is very busy she runs multiple online businesses at this time she was running multiple experiments doing ebay drop shipping and some of these other type of side hustles as well so she physically probably didn't even have the time to do this herself so i completely understand her reasoning for hiring someone and obviously it worked out fine for her necessarily recommend that you hire a virtual assistant because at the end of the day we almost broke even with how much i paid the virtual assistant in the philippines versus what we made in the shops i just didn't have the time myself as i have a portfolio of businesses to run an infant and three other children and a wonderful husband who i like to actually pay attention to instead of neglect oh and a youtube channel so i wouldn't necessarily suggest you hire a va but you'll be able to see full-time 40 hours a week this is how much you could probably get paid and every number here that i'm giving you by the way is net profit that means it's after everything on top ebay fees it's after paying for the actual product the actual shipping any taxes on that product but not taxes for our company so any anything you bring in as in profit you always have to you know in every april in the u. s you have to pay taxes on that these numbers are not including that it's also not including what i paid my va because i just wanted to see if a person if an individual works full-time on this how much net profit can that store bring in so this is assuming that you're doing this yourself 40 hours a week okay september 2020 we finally got the ball rolling and we made 1410. 39 so you more than doubled from first month to second month which is really awesome growth obviously you keep that up then exponentially you could just have insane growth with your ebay store october i could not figure out those numbers because they shut down our ebay store by then we had rammed things up too quickly she was working on it too much all these red flags happened in ebay and even ebay was like you're done but not only that when they shut the store down we couldn't see any of our numbers for some reason and that's what i was talking about some of those red flags you want to watch out for you don't want to cause them multiple ebay stores at once going up too quickly you know each one of those on their own not necessarily bad but too many of them that's when ebay kind of says well we gotta shut you down until we figure out if you are a real person if you're not gonna scam our customers and then if we're all cool then we'll let you start selling again but it's annoying you don't want it to happen all of the softwares that were hooked into it we couldn't accurately find the numbers it was the numbers were just lost we had made money but we couldn't configure how much it was in october we probably could have gone through the bank account with each individual item against each individual item that shipped out on the credit cards to configure it but ultimately i would have had to have my va doing that and that would have taken her so long and i said just forget it just continue build the next store build a new one and she started building two new ones while we figured out that old account and we never did find out those numbers they were just lost so starting new in november 2020 with a brand new store and this one is not the old one that was shut down we made 726 dollars and seven cents again that's really cool to me because a lot of people kind of fear that they have a new store their limits are low they don't have any reviews how they ever going to make any money with it well this is how she was able to do it 700 in profit their first month on a brand new ebay store so it's definitely possible we had to just start getting the ball rolling december of 2020 we made 1 856. 57 so we were finally getting somewhere and relatively quickly the fact that it more than doubled the second month was pretty cool we wanted to see if we could continue that part of that is because you're moving closer to christmas but it's also because you know you're working hard actually adding products and working on the store though january 2021 we made 1 688 and 40 cents february one dollars and fifteen cents so it had gone down a little bit but that could also be because the holiday season was over march of 2021 we made 1484. 74 cents april 2021 we made and 27 1246. 27 may of 2021 oh pause for a second in april that's when we had all three stores going so april was like all right let's get all three going again and my va somehow managed

okay i hope she tells us kind of how that account got back i'm assuming she's going to tell us i'm kind of curious do that and the reason that you have three stores going is because ebay has limits on how much you can list and you're trying to avoid those red flags so sometimes the more stores you open the less red flags ebay sees although if ebay sees a red flag in one store ebay can quickly tie you to all stores and shut you down so you have to be careful that none of your stores have red flags so may 2021 also all three stores we made thousand sixty seven dollars and ninety two cents june we finally had things really ramped up and we made two thousand nine hundred and sixty nine dollars july we went down a little bit and made 2147. 73 and august 2021 when we finally called it quits we made 623 dollars and 24 cents and in august that's when we had made the decision at the end of july to cut things off so august was just fulfilling some laggy orders and so that money came in from those laggy orders as a total we made uh and we don't really know the exact number because of that october lost month but we're just gonna forget that exists and say we made eighteen thousand four hundred and fifteen dollars and three cents as a total if you average that out between eleven months instead of twelve just cause the october one let's just pretend that it's not there it averages out to one thousand six hundred seventy four dollars and nine cents and if you take the total eighteen thousand four hundred and fifteen dollars and three cents and divide it by the total hours in the 11 months which would be about 48 weeks by 40 would equal 1 920 hours you would get a total hourly wage of 9. 59 which is cool depending on what part of the country you live in or what country so these are awesome results a few things i want to point out about them is first when you're scaling up an ebay store usually what i see is that you're going to spend more time up front than you are later especially if you end up hiring a virtual assistant so you average it out to whatever was 1 000 something every single month but as time goes on that will increase as your revenue increases every single month in addition to that your hourly wage that's a cool way of looking at it but also remember that as time goes on you have to spend less time in your store to keep it running at kind of the same rate especially if you hire a virtual assistant for about three dollars an hour and you're making nine dollars an hour then that means you're keeping the six dollars an hour in profit even though the va is doing all the work you understand what i'm saying that's kind of how every business works businesses that you might work for like let's say you work at a fast food restaurant you're only getting paid let's say 15 an hour but because of your work they're making maybe 40 an hour off of your work so they're keeping the difference between how much you make them and how much they pay you and that's exactly what you can do if you hire a virtual assistant like this you yourself live in i know for a filipino that's a way above minimum wage but i know here in the us for most states that's way below minimum wage however whenever you start a business you have to always keep in mind most businesses don't actually bring in a profit for several years so that's pretty cool that ebay dropshipping we started bringing in an actual profit right up front but it did take us a lot of hours of work and a lot of headaches from ebay to get there ebay shut down one of our stores completely and we had to work on getting it back up and then eventually ebay started seeing red flags in some of our newer shops and they wanted us to do crazy things like we could only ship from one zip code so that because they were worried we were dropshipping and drop shipping is not really allowed on ebay so then you tell ebay will you kind of fib and say well it's really more retail arbitrage and then ebay believes you but if ebay starts seeing products shipped from different zip codes because you're using different stores like walmart or home depot or amazon and then drop shipping on ebay it's going to be shipping from a different zip code each so ebay made this change a few years ago and what they actually said was that you are allowed to drop ship but only if you're using wholesale suppliers so as long as you are fine now in the course that renee took when she took it all i taught was retail drop shipping that's all we knew at the time but since then i've updated the course so actually teach how to use retail if you're still interested in doing that or you can do wholesale drop shipping i teach how to in there as well so you can make the choice for yourself and in the course i actually explained the differences between retail drop shipping and wholesale drop shipping the pros and cons what's allowed what technically isn't allowed and then you can make the decision for yourself but the cool thing is you only have to sign up for one course to kind of get both of those courses for later is drop shipping easy absolutely not is it profitable yes i think that ebay dropshipping would be more for somebody who's kind of stuck at home maybe with kids if you absolutely cannot work out of the home even a job

and you can't find any work-at-home jobs and you really just want something more stable and i say that but it's really funny but ebay dropshipping out of all of our tests we did in 2020 was one of the more stable incomes and it was relatively easy in listing things over and over again the only headaches came in through those ebay red flags other than that it wasn't really a problem even the returns the biggest question that i get usually when i talk about ebay drop shipping are what about the returns the returns were actually relatively easy and we just returned them back from the original place it was drop shipped from for example if the person got a package from amazon directly when they returned it we said just return it to this address use this code and it would just go right back to amazon and then that money would be returned yeah usually you can just in this example you can just go into amazon's websites click a button that says you want to return the item that the buyer purchase you'll get a return label and then you can send that return label to the buyer on ebay who can then just ship it back to amazon again you never have to touch the package to us another question that i got a lot of my other ebay drop shipping videos was aren't people really going to be put off when they order from ebay and they get a package or they get like a home depot box and it's clearly from home depot or walmart or amazon instead nobody really cared there were very few people i would say less than. 01 of people cared and even less returned because of that in fact i don't i can't think of a single example of someone actually returning a product because they got it in a different box and i know a lot of yeah that's been my experience as well and obviously i've done a lot of sales on ebay doing drop shipping and my experience has been exactly the same very few customers care about it at all drop shippers and etsyrs they ship in amazon prime boxes they got previously anyway so there weren't too many problems and nobody seemed to really care about that so we did it for a year and the reason that we ultimately ended up quitting was it really i really had just started it to be a test and initially i had told my assistant listen you can as long as you keep bringing in as much as we pay you then you will never be fired and we had gone a whole year i really expected it only to last a couple months but ultimately we made it a whole year and at that point i said congratulations this is really cool what you accomplished during that time but i wanted her to start testing axey infinity at that time so we wanted to move on to another test and since i myself don't have the time to do each test individually i had her move on to the next axi infinity test to see if we could make money that way the one piece of advice that i have for you if you do want to go into ebay drop shipping and i have known people to go into ebay dropshipping and scale it to six figures so i know it's possible but getting past those eb red flags is not easy uh and there are other drop shipping options you don't necessarily have to drop ship on ebay do i think drop shipping is still what it is in 2022 yeah there's some other places you can drop ship like uh facebook marketplace become very popular i like that because it's a marketplace just like ebay if you do shopify that's not a marketplace so you have to drive traffic to yourself which is really difficult but that's why i really like ebay and facebook marketplace so i think she was just saying does ebay drop shipping still work in 2022. i think there are so many people drop shipping and i think it's working out i don't necessarily like the drop shipping from china some people will drop ship i don't like product from aliexpress and it takes somebody six weeks to get it that poses more of a problem i think that's gone in the way of the dinosaur but if you're drop shipping from amazon's kind of risky but if you drop ship from home depot or walmart directly you can still get away with that i would not suggest somebody goes into ebay dropshipping blind i do strongly recommend paul lipsky's course it
